Mugi Tamago is a food stall hidden inside Yata, a Japanese supermarket in APM. Mugi Tamago is famous for their tamagoyaki, Japanese egg roll omelette, as well as barley rice. They seem to be a nice and healthy combination for dinner. There are also quite a lot of seemingly healthy bentos and snacks option in their fridge, which appeared to be more money worthy than the set I ordered… I was kinda hungry and directly placed an order for a tamagoyaki dinner set without taking a look at the fridge…Lesson learnt.

For HKD$82, this set is a bit overpriced. There were only 3 little pieces of deep fried chicken, which were cold and soggy. There was even a thick layer of oil on top of the dipping sauce…
For the German Potato tamagoyaki (available in APM only but not the Shatin branch), there were quite a lot of potato inside, but only a few bacon pieces at the other end of the omelette. The whole tamagoyaki was quite oily indeed, I guess the chef lacks the skills to make a good one and needs quite a bit of help from oil.
The miso soup was ordinary, and the barley rice was surprisingly nice. I guess the best part of the set is actually this barley rice…Hum…I guess I would go for the bento boxes or stuff in the fridge next time.
