Came here as a friend reserved this place for her going away party. I had first heard about this place when I walked by and was curious what it was. I discovered they do regular cooking classes and held private cooking parties. I told my friend who thought it was a great place for her going away party. It also wasn't expensive as it was $320 per person for a two hour venue booking. The group of our friends arrived and were greeted at the door. It was brightly lit space with a kitchen on one end
The group of our friends arrived and were greeted at the door. It was brightly lit space with a kitchen on one end and tables on the other. The party was a cooking party where we would participate by making our own dinner. And on the menu was chicken tapande and stuffed mushroom escargot. We brought our own wine. All staff spoke English.
As we took our spots, the teacher asked if we planned to make our own food or just watch him do it. We, of course, said yes....we are making it ourselves. So, we were told to wash up and were given a recipe for chicken tapanade. The teacher then demonstrated making the pesto and and how to stuff our chicken. He then demonstrated stuffing the mushroooms. After that, we sliced and stuffed away, creating our own dinner. Things that bothered me as I've taken many cooking classes: demonstration was a bit rushed, there wasn't enough equipment for everyone as a group of four of us had to share knives, spoons, whatever. The staff also didn't seem to check to see how you were doing. And as I work in microbiology, it freaks me out when you have raw meat near nonraw food like our wine glasses. And then the table wasn't wiped clean (well...at least to my standards) after prepping our raw food to when we ate off it. But then I guess I really washed my hands well as I didn't get food poisoning afterwards.
