I recently had the opportunity to try out the Disney dim sum! When I first saw the pictures, I was pretty excited!Starting with the Olaf buns. Starting with the Olaf buns. I have to say I was disappointed in the look of Olaf, as it did not really look like the character. From the food perspective, the red bean was smooth and tasty. The bun was a little tough, but that I might have been related to the bun getting cold as everything came out at the same time, and I saved the sweet bun for last. The brown twigs were chewy with not much taste.
The little green alien was quite delicious. The bun was soft and thin, and the filling was tasty and declicious. It had a lot of greens, which I enjoyed a lot. The only thing is the bun did not really look like the alien from toy story...
The baymax bun looked the closet to baymax. The only thing was the design looked like it was trying to climb out more, which was kind of freaky. The buns were also good, but the base bun had no filling. The top bun that did had filling was also tasty, and the chicken was nice and fresh inside.
My favorite dish was probably the crab rice roll. There was a lot of crab that was fresh, and the crunch middle was very crunchy. The only complaint would be the rice roll was on the thick side, where in HK I usually expect a very thin rice roll. Adding the XO sauce to this dish really made it stand out.
Overall, it's a good dim sum place, but I really wished the characters resembled the disney characters more.
