Ordered a bowl of 滷肉刀削面 plus a dish of 麻辣牛肚+手撕雞. The taste of the latter dish is not bad. The spices on top, which is black in colour, are quite interesting and rich in flavor. It is however more tilted to the end of spicyness than to that of 麻. So it's 麻辣 title is quite misleading.The problem happened on the bowl of noodles. Having said that, I do not mean the marinated meat is bad. Instead, I can taste its alcohol-flavor and it was tender enough, with a good balance of fat to leaned meat. The

Instead, I can taste its alcohol-flavor and it was tender enough, with a good balance of fat to leaned meat. The noodles are the real disappointing part. Not that it is too tender, quite the contrary, it is very al dente and chewy to which I much appreciate. It is the lack of the flavor of flour that ruined the whole bowl of noodles. I was like chewing some bland rubber band all along.
The area which demands immediate improvement by the restaurant however is not their food, but hygiene. After my friend and I finished our noodles, we have both encountered the problem of serious diarrhea with abdominal pain. I know one cannot expect much from a restaurant at this price range, but equally one should not expect to suffer from illness after dining out. So, as a restaurant, this place sure fails.
