Not sure whether Felix wanted to be a bar or a fine dining restaurant. Felt it ended up stuck in between without anything amazing to talk about. The decor is kind of modern but the tables seem cheap, the music is loud and the tables are too close to each otherService at the restaurant was not what I would expect in a 5-star hotel. Service at the restaurant was not what I would expect in a 5-star hotel. Booking went well online, an email from Peninsula asked whether I wanted flowers or a special cake for the occasion with follow up and calls which were great. They even got to the details of the color of the flowers and when to present them to the person. Then it all went south.
My partner arrived first, they put her in a table at the corner, and put me in another table despite me repeating my partner already arrived. I gave my reservation details and they still messed it up.
The flowers didnt come when we were seated and probably would never, had I not reminded the waiter about it.
The waitress kept on talking to us in cantonese despite us chatting all night in English (my partner is not a cantonese speaker).
The food was nothing extraordinary, but at least it wasn't as expensive as a fine dining in other french restaurants in a 5-star hotel so the plus side is good value for money. Delicate dish at an affordable price comparatively (i recall the most expensive dish is a A5 striploin worth just over hkd 1000$).
Overall an OK dining, but nothing memorable apart from a so-so service.
