I must admit Chinese food is never one of my top 5 favourite cuisines. Being brought up in UK, I have always prefer sandwiches, roasties, pizzas (plus everything else that's considered as unhealthy) over steamed spare ribs or stir-fried noodles. This is probably the reason why I hardly blog about Chinese food as to me it's just... you know, normal stuff you find at home, isn't it? However I do realise that Chinese, or more specifically the Guangdong folks are generally very good at preserving the natural flavours of ingredients through their cooking methods and presentations. Hearing from friends that Loong Yuen is one of the experts in town, I just couldn't bear not coming to have a taste of how amazing their dishes can be!
Apart from the slight doubt about the shrimps, I have enjoyed the food here and especially the outstanding Chinese desserts! Though I though it was a bit over-priced and I prefer Osteria over Loong Yuen if I have to make a choice between the two. Though I guess it would still be a good, central location for family gatherings and celebrations!
