We decided to finally try out Chino again, after the first couple times we went the queue was too long, and going at 6:30 we were immediately seated at a table by the window.Right away the staff was super helpful in suggesting food and drinks for us, and all of their recommendations were hits! We ordered a number of dishes from all sections of the menu, but I think the Shima Aji from the starters section and the Clams with Chorizo from the mains section were our two favourites. Right away the staff was super helpful in suggesting food and drinks for us, and all of their recommendations were hits! We ordered a number of dishes from all sections of the menu, but I think the Shima Aji from the starters section and the Clams with Chorizo from the mains section were our two favourites. The flavours on pretty much every dish were perfectly balanced and gave us just the right levels of heat, sour and tanginess. For drinks I tried the mezcal which my server recommended, the Los Dozante Reposado, which was easily the best mezcal I have ever had.
I definitely wouldn't call this place cheap, but the quality of the food and service certainly felt like we were getting value for our money. Have been to too many restaurants in Central where you spend a lot of money but walk away feeling unsatisfied...definitely not at Chino!
Will be back again soon for sure!
