A girlfriend and I decided to have a little girls night out without the boys. Just an evening of gossip and chit chat. Something we hadn't done in a long time. Located in Causeway Bay, it's not a very big restaurant. But every decor is well thought out with a very clear feminine theme. Everything from the dinnerware to the even the napkins, it was very dainty. Even the names of the dishes were romantically named. Dishes like Romeo and Juliet and Pure Angel, just as an example. Menu is in English and Chinese.

We decided to share one dinner set  ($548) as it included a starter, appetizer, soup, main and dessert and add an extra main.

While waiting for our food, we were given a sampling of shortbread biscuits of various flavors. The biscuits were fairly buttery and crumbly. They weren't too sweet.

A bread basket was given. The warm bread was soft and sweet.

But what I found interesting more than the bread was what was given to spread onto the bread. Yes, they gave balsamic vinegar. But that isn't what I found fascinating. What I found fascinating was the little peaks in the middle photo. Those were fig butter. A nice butter sweetened by figs. I generally don't like butter, but this was really nice. Almost like a jam but creamier. I couldn't get enough of it.

Starter was a mix tomato salad with mozzarella cheese and basil oil. They used cherry tomatoes and mini mozzarella balls, making everything seem cute and dainty. There was a drizzle of basil oil, pulling it all together.

Appetizer was a scallop with yuzu dressing, apple slices and apple puree. This made the dish very fresh tasting with the use of sweet and sour notes. I love yuzu so this was great with the scallop. The use of apples with scallop was a bit new to me and oddly, it worked.

Soup was a cream of pumpkin and carrot soup. There was also a drizzle of basil oil. The soup was very creamy but a bit too thick. It had a strong pumpkin taste that perhaps covered up all traces of carrot.

Sous Vide Beef Tenderloin, Lettuce Emotion, Mushroom Puree and Demiglaze was the main ($548). The beef tenderloin was literally melt in your mouth as they cooked it via sous vide method. There were little dots of mushroom puree that gave the dish an earthy taste. The demiglaze was rich and I kind of wished there was more.

Our other main (described on the menu as Gold Coast) was a uni, bacon tagliatelle ($198). I love tagliatelle and this was cooked to a proper al dente. The sauce had a strong uni taste, making it very creamy and rich. It was topped with fresh salmon roe, giving it a salty taste to everything.

Dessert ended with Stawberry Fairy. This was a strawberry frozen yogurt shoe with another scoop of passionfruit ice cream and fresh berries. It looked pretty and tasted very healthy as it wasn't sweet. It was frozen yogurt after all! The passionfruit ice cream was delicious and creamy.

I noticed the other customers were also girls. Understandable as everything was very pretty and dainty. I noticed they had afternoon tea so will probably return again with some girls for an afternoon tea party. It's just something girls just like to do. Guys just will never understand.
