Having winter approaching finally, it's the best time to have hotpot to warm you up in the cold weather. Coming to Jordon for dinner, we surely are gonna have hotpot because the area is famous for hotpot. After a short walk from the MTR station, you can reach the restaurant which is at the corner of the street. Having winter approaching finally, it's the best time to have hotpot to warm you up in the cold weather. Coming to Jordon for dinner, we surely are gonna have hotpot because the area is famous for hotpot. After a short walk from the MTR station, you can reach the restaurant which is at the corner of the street.
The hotpot restaurant has a simple reception downstairs but the main dining hall is actually upstairs. The sitting area is very spacious with clean tables and chairs. The lighting is bright and shine, giving customer a feel of comfort.
The restaurant offers all-you-can-eat menu with unlimited drinks and food including seafood items. I liked that they even have house prepared drinks like this honey ginger tea and honey lemon tea.
Meanwhile, a wide selection of Korean drinks are also available like the Korean tea, mango juice, cream soda, soft drinks, etc.
There is also a new membership problem that you can even invite your friends to enjoy the 10% or 20% discounts on your bill!
We were told that a few selections of meat and seafood selections are prepared for you and you may order some extra items if that's not enough for you. We were served with a plate of beef and they are Angus beef while some other meat items like pork, chicken, and other cuts of beef are also up for you.
Then a plate of Hong Kong style hotpot food items are brought including mushroom, dumplings, corns, a few choices of fish balls and other meat balls and a few types of sausages.
Then who can resist a good old bowl of veggie basket. I do love that their veggies are really really fresh with lots of different choices.
Lastly, a platter of seafood is here! That includes oysters, abalones, clams, scallops, shrimps, and thin fish slices.
The clams are the big ones not the small sandy ones. It's really sweet and juicy with a crunchy texture. My favourite type of seafood from the platter.
The abalone is "OK" size with a good chew to it. The taste isn't very strong so it's good for those who doesn't like to have have a very strong taste abalone and it is also not slimy which is good. Not to mention that all the seafood is actually very fresh.
The oyster though are frozen and you can see the ice on its surface. The taste is pretty expected, it's big in size and juicy in its texture.
The shrimps are also very good with fresh taste and texture. However, they ran out of stock when we were trying to re-order our second round of seafood.
In our second round and the only second round of seafood, I ordered mussels, clams and 'Alaska claws'. We were pretty curious about Alaska claws but I found that they are quite similar to normal crab claws. The clams in the second round is smaller because they are different species but they are still pretty good.
Before we have hotpot, a chicken pot is actually served for us. We have ordered non spicy which I liked a lot because the chicken pieces are very very tender and they are even fresh. It is not too salty and I didn't really feel a lot of MSG on my tongue. I also liked the coriander and the generous amount of onion in the pot. I tried not to get too full with it because we still have a whole hotpot coming up soon!
Then we have chosen the lobster tomato hotpot over the chicken and fish maw soup base. The pot comes in no time and it comes with a whole tail of lobster and a few pieces of tomato wedges.
The lobster tail is full of sexy orange roe. Once again I need to stress that their seafood is fresh and they only use day bought seafood and thye would not resale the unsold seafood overnight.
The claws have some big pieces of meat in it so don't skip them until you get everything out !
With the taste from the soup, I didn't feel the need of dipping the beef into some soya sauce.
The scallops are halved and slightly rubbery, not my kinda seafood to have in a hotpot dinner with close friends/families.
Every else kind of seafood is great and tasty. I can definitely eat more of them but some items would cost extra like big clams and abalone.
The veggie dumplings are surprisingly good although they should be store bought. It might be due to me haven't had dumplings for quite a long while.
I have also ordered an extra lobster ball filled with mayo. I have never had this kind of fish ball before. It is a deep fried ball stuffed with some runny mayo mixed with some crab roe, pretty fun yet to eat!
Some ppl also enjoy this roe fish sausages, which has a very very crunchy texture, different from any other sausages you have ever had before.
At the end, for $288, it's probably on the average line as there are many other hotpot place offering at this price. The plus is that you can order a lot of fresh seafood, while the sauce charges are not there because you will have to pay for your own condiment if you fancy (like sesame seed sauce, spring onion, etc)
