One of the top three ramen shops in Hakata. However, completely different from the real deal.Noodles were good but the char siu and egg weren't good. Not recommended.

Enter the arena:
We came here early so we managed to get a seat before the huge queue formed.
Yes, you heard me correctly: Huge queue alert!
I heard it's because of a TV program introducing this place. When we left at about 7:00p.m. on a weekday, there were at least 25 persons waiting to enter the arena.
Nevertheless, I paused when I saw a spicy option called "God Fire" - so that's what I ordered. (HK$85).
My wife ordered the signature Ajutama Ramen. (HK$75)
We also ordered fried chicken (HK$35)
God Fire:
It's supposed to be Hakata style thick tonkotsu. However, the tonkotsu taste was not pronounced. It wasn't spicy at all. But really taste like an oily cream of mushroom soup with Shoyu and a bit of chili oil! I think all other shops at Ramen Champion do better tonkotsu than here, Tokyo Ninja is much better.
The egg was way too salty. This completely affected the whole expereince.
The char siu was quite thin and dry. There is a difference between a lean piece of char siu and a dry piece of char siu. This was not good.
The noodles were the best part of the meal. Hakata style ramen which were very chewy. Possibly the best in Ramen Champion.
Chicken: The chicken was also quite dry and tough. Tokyo Ninja's was much better.
OK/Crying?
I was thinking that this shop is infinitely better than Eda No Uta (deceased) - at least I could finish the whole bowl of noodles.
So this shop lies somewhere between [OK] and a Crying face. After thinking long and hard, I reckon I couldn't recommend you to this place - unless and until it matches the real taste from their Hakata branch.
My wife was quite unhappy about hers. The expereince was so bad that she almost refused to go to the Hakata Main Shop, which according to "Tabelog" (essentially a Japanese version of OpenRice) was one of the top three ramen shop in Hakata!
Hataka, Japan:
A few hours after this ramen, we flew to Japan to spend the New Year.
We eventually arrived at Hakata and tried the main branch of Hakata Ikkousha. It's completely different from the Hong Kong branch.
You're gonna need a bigger boat......
