This is Prive groups's newest restaurant and bar. I remember earlier in 2014 I read somewhere about restaurant trends, and eatertainment is one of them. This new place definitely embodies that - drinking games, mini beer pong tables, central cocktail bar with cheerful bartenders shaking the vibe up, game in the those who is up for some fun while having a few bites. Since the place has opened for only a few weeks, the new restaurant is quite empty this midweek evening.
Many patrons are surprised the place is changed and when they look at the menu and find that they don't serve sushi or sashimi anymore, you don't come in. however there are a feel regular patrons who recognized the restaurant staff and their warm welcome, who stay and give it a try.
today we tried to bit of everything on the menu. we started with egg salad - which is fresh and appetizing. The sauce is really nice. The rolls are names after sounds eg 'rolling in the deep' or rock'n roll. I really liked the eel one, which is richly flavored and not fishy. The spicy salmon is good too tho I expected it to be more spicy.
Everyone tried the pork belly slider except me. After the first bite everyone stopped speaking --- coz it was too good I bet. To be honest I didn't eat it, nor the cucumber roll with Parma ham so I cannot judge but at least the presentation looks excellent.
The veggie tempura is really nice - perfectly deep fried, crunchy, crispy. and it's inside is soft and the food original sweetness is kept! one of my faves tonight - which came as a surprise as it is one of the simplest and most ordinary dishes. Last but not least we had the mochi ice cream which conveniently came in bite-sized. The green tea is good and light and the sesame one is rich and smooth. neat!
Party animals who hit the clubs in the same building may be delighted to know they open till 3am on weekends - midnight noodles anyone??? And you can always keep drinking their signature sake based cocktails or some of the imported Japanese(looking) beers.
