Wait wait...now is 12:15 but why no one is inside the restaurant. Scare? No! I just feel wonder I have a place to be relaxed without crowd and can enjoy my fave music during lunch.Here is going to have pasta as the name restaurant. The menu is so cool! Ordered the plates of beef fettuccine and spaghetti carbonara. Ordered the plates of beef fettuccine and spaghetti carbonara. Mostly, i tried spaghetti carbonara to see how cooking level of the restaurant....because it 's much classic and easy to cook. 

Well, it 's flat and warm , not as hot as beef one. I feel kinda upset with it because I have expectation based on the openrice smile score. The sauce is too less and not creamy. Bacon is just put on the top with cheese.

But the beef one is much better. The sauce is fair enuf and the plate is hot. 

Oh, maybe late but try my best to specially promote that part of funds will be donated to cancer charity till 28 Jun so now all pasta are priced at hkd 100 with 1 drink. Come and donate!

I just spent a week in Korea and wanted something carb-y after night after night of barbecued meats and fried chicken, so I picked The Pasta Place, as it had been on my list and I'd really like to find a nearby, affordable, excellent Italian-American place (I know that's asking a lot). We ordered the garlic bread ($40) and a small side salad ($45). Pictured is my half of the two orders. It's pretty over-priced if you ask me, but the garlic bread is quite good (great bread, buttery but not overly so, plenty of garlic), and someone seems to share my love of only the slightest amount of salad dressing. So it's good... but I wouldn't recommend it. B+

Linguine con le Vongole: the pasta was very dry, and I didn't notice any hints of a sauce. I was fine with it though. The clams were plentiful, but also dry and chewy and a bit too fishy. They don't come in the shells, and I'm left wondering whether they're canned clams? Frozen? With no sauce there was no flavor and it could definitely have used some spice. Meh, C-

My wife got the tagliatelle with ragu. Her opinion was that it was about the quality of what she makes when she cooks ragu at home. I had some, and I second that opinion. There's nothing wrong with it, but we are paying restaurant prices ($145) for middling fare. OK, C+

I'd go easy on this place but for two things. First, with two glasses of sangria, the bill totalled $533.50. They're charging you like it's supposed to be pretty good. Second, the hubris. We're told we're getting "authentic Italian-American recipes from NYC" (quote from their facebook page). I'm sorry, I lived in Jersey for 7 years, and you can just drive down any highway and get off at any random Italian joint you see, and it will be better than this, and cost a third. (In New York, you've gotta avoid the tourist traps, but the same principle roughly applies.)

I think I'll hit up Fat Angelo's instead next time I have an Italian craving.

自從知道Super Mondays主菜買一送一的優惠,星期一變得不再討厭,因為可以享用美食,今次我們來到了The Pasta Place。環境很溫馨,很吸引女孩子,不僅有花花牆紙,桌上還有蠟燭、花。設計很體貼,由於面積不大,不能把袋放在另一張椅子上,所以牆上有掛勾,我們坐得算舒適。我們吃過主菜後繼續聊天,店主便禮貌地請我們轉到高腳枱,好讓在外面等候的顧客可以入座用膳,轉位後也不會坐得辛苦。食物方面,我們吃了~ Eggplant Parmigiana($68):焗得軟軟的茄子內夾着Mozzarella和Parmesan芝士,再加上蕃茄醬,十分開胃。一碟兩件,正適合兩個人分享。 Linguine Arrabbiata with mussels($125):青口數量頗多,肉質不會太韌。最重要的扁意粉軟硬適中,加了蕃茄醬、少許紅椒和蒜蓉,令人愈吃愈起勁。 Beef Ragu on Gnocchi($125):加了$10轉做Gnocchi,實在是明智選擇!這些一粒粒的意粉,賣相像蠶繭,特別有嚼勁。雖則餐牌上介紹肉醬加入了紅酒,但我們都吃不到酒味,相較之下,蕃茄醬的味道亦比上碟青口意粉淡。

中午經過,看着人不多,就試試吧。首先,餐廳不大,門面窄而深,但整體乾淨整齊,連洗手間的裝飾清潔都做的很好!餐具,食物,服務,都做得很到位。是日ordered lunch menu 上的sausage配薯蓉,腸偏鹹但味道不錯,餐湯是南瓜湯,很好,没有很粉很漿糊的感覺,熱飲杯很驚喜,杯面程心型!但吃得快没拍照,很值得再來!

Ordered linguine with mussels & New York style penne pasta with chicken breast.  Between the 2, we preferred the linguine with mussels for it's perfect blend of tomato and chilly taste in the sauce.  The chicken breast from the penne pasta was one of the tastiest that we have had recently - moist & tasty on both the outside and inside.

Subsequently, we ordered Aglio Olio(not on the menu) and the chef did a wonderful job!  Very very few places can prepare such a simple dish so well.(This is even after we each had a plate of pasta.)

Our dinner ended with a tiramisu and regular coffee each.  The tiramisu is fragrant & rich in taste with sweetness that is just right.

Most importantly, the dinner was very reasonably priced and included soup, main course pasta, wine, tiramisu and coffee.(and not forgetting the additional Aglio Olio pasta.)

PS The toilet is very clean and well maintained.  It is really a pleasure to use.

I love pasta but at most restaurants they make simple pastas complicated and expensive.At The Pasta Place I was attracted to their down to earth homely decor. The menu was simple and straightforward and I liked the manual typewriter font.At The Pasta Place, the decor was most impressive.On the walls they have lovely homely wallpaper and they had dado rails known as chair rails on the walls just like the houses in the UK.They might have them in the US too but I have never been to the US to commen

In the middle of the restaurant, there is a really nice alcove that hides a toilet!
It looks like a tiny room underneath a staircase but the toilet is quite spacious.

The portion was huge! I think out of all the gnocchi dishes I have ordered in various restaurants, this plate had the most!
The gnocchi was quite chewy and the tomato sauce was lovely and acidic but lacked the taste of basil.

This was beautifully presented but the sauce lacked connection with the sage because I could only taste pumpkin which was also quite light.
Four sage leaves had been fried and placed on top as decoration.
Other than that, it was a lovely light pasta dish and the ravioli was filled with soft clotted ricotta in the middle contrasted by the gentle sweet pumpkin puree sauce.

The food was excellent. Very good quality ham and mussels with the pasta. The chef came and chatted with us and asked for some comments. I absolutely loved the pasta with mussels and a good touch of chili. The tiramisu would be to die for. All the sauces and desert are homemade and the spaghetti sauces can be sold separately for your home cookings. Pricing wise, they are on the medium range, and the service needs to uplift a bit, but give them the credits that it is just started. I will definitely re-visit to try other items as well. If you want to find a nice hidden gem restaurant for a nice evening, that would be a good choice.

下午兩點左右,行經上環看到有新的餐廳,不妨一試意粉之中,我最愛carbonara,set lunch都是大路野,而且看起來很抵食醬料全部homemade,意粉看起來也沒有街外大多數意粉店那種creamy外面的大多加了太多芝士和cream,吃起來太辛苦下午茶,只吃了一碟就走了。除了意粉以外,餐廳的音樂,環境和佈置都好舒服。晚上有酒精飲品供應,絕對會回來再試。

My boyfriend and I were strolling around Sheung Wan when we came across The Pasta Place. We were immediately struck by its unique design and warm atmosphere so we decided to try. We arrived around 6pm and were immediately taken to our table by the host who gave us a warm welcome and made us feel comfortable. My boyfriend and I were strolling around Sheung Wan when we came across The Pasta Place. We were immediately struck by its unique design and warm atmosphere so we decided to try.

We arrived around 6pm and were immediately taken to our table by the host who gave us a warm welcome and made us feel comfortable. Our table was quite small but cozy and the fresh rose on our table made up for that! We ordered cocktails, Espresso Martini for me and a Manhattan for my boyfriend. Both were well presented and delicious.

We began our meal with the "Small Plates"
, which we were told were new items on the menu. Sort of like an Italian version of tapas, we were delighted by the original presentation and taste of the dishes (we had the homemade meatballs, chicken skewers and the caprese skewers). After that we had our main course. I had the gorgonzola & walnut gnocchi and my bf had the Penne alla Vodka. The pasta was al dente and the sauce tasted completely homemade, nothing processed (which is a relief!). Both dishes were priced at about $105, more than a fair price for the quality and taste.

We ended our meal with the panna cotta flavoured with white chocolate and amoretti biscuits. The chef, a young Italian guy brought it out! It was amazing! We found the panna cotta to be authentic in taste and nicely presented in a cute glass jar. The chef chatted to us and I could tell was very passionate about his work.

We found the staff to be polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We actually had a conversation with the owner and found out that the restaurant is owned by a mother and her daughter, something unique for HK's commercial dining scene. Our overall impression of The Pasta Place is a good one. I think it a good place for couples and friends looking for REAL food. I appreciate what the owners are trying to do by bringing a niche concept to HK. The only negative is for people who don't like pasta, it's a more limited menu than elsewhere. On the other hand, those who like pasta would love The Pasta Place!

The menu is pretty cool too with a black and white poster at the back featuring a lady having pasta. There are quite a lot of items on the menu from starters, sandwiches, pasta and main courses. Dessert menu is on a separate menu on the desk.

Rich Beef Ragu on Tagliatelle Pasta - HKD110
Tagliatelle is one of my favourite pasta as it is usually paired with robust flavoured sauce. This al dente tagliatelle was lovely with a flavourful beef sauce with tender minced beef! I also loved the cute poka dot plate that holds the tagliatelle! We love the sauce so much, we literally cleaned the plate with a bread.

NYC Style Penne a la Vodka with Griddled US Chicken Breast - HKD 98
The penne was an exquisite dish too with bursting flavours! The sauce was garlicky and creamy with a refreshing basil note, there was also a mild flow of alcohol aroma. Despite the flavourful sauce, the griddled chicken was not to be missed! This was extremely tender, bouncy and had a strong chicken flavour with it. This was probably one of the best chicken I had this year. The sauce again was so good that we polished the plate with a bread!

I really love The Pasta Place from furnishing, service to food. Everything is designed with love and I feel very comfy dining in this restaurant. Come here to try their pasta, it is definitely one of the best in Hong Kong.

這間新開的精品意粉店在上環同區屬少有,附近都是主流中式粉面。作為素食者,見到餐單上有一半的意粉都是無肉的,環境還比較清淨,價錢比起一般西餐廳都便宜,於是帶同幾個朋友入去試一下。頭盤點了這個Salad味道及口感都很清新,開胃而且不油膩。我點了的這個無肉蕃茄辣通粉真的大贊!啖啖蕃茄濃香,辣味很適中,值得再試!這個是朋友點的Chicken Pasta,聽她說味道還不錯,份量適合女生,不過比較Rich。蘑姑包做得非常香口,朋水大讚,必吃頭盤!朋友點的這個我也忘記叫什麼名稱,她說口感很特別。整個晚餐服務很好很貼心,可能並非繁忙時間。最後老闆娘還送了我們一個甜品,品道不錯,可是水有點太多。

Intially, we were excited to try a new restaurant, the decoration and atmosphere is nice.  However, the service is really dissappointing.In the set lunch, there is 2 courses, salad/dessert + Pasta $88 /Pork $108.  However, all salad are sold out.  We have no any other options even some of my friends don't like sweet or milk.  Even we requested, no other choices can be offered.Pork is good but pasta is not exciting.Understood maybe it is company policy, however, the dessert panna cotta scared me,

Pork is good but pasta is not exciting.

Understood maybe it is company policy, however, the dessert panna cotta scared me, it's so watery.  When I asked the staff what the problem was, he answered maybe they took out for long time and now changed to watery status, he did not feel any problems at all in the food quality and even think it is no problem in serving the dessert like that and placing it inappropriately.  Finally, he even asked me "What do you want me to do?" without any apologies and regrets.  I am so angry and run away.  I definitely will not come again.

一試這款由蕃茄、新鮮菠菜、羅勒葉作配料的正方形意粉!

等上大約 10 分鐘,比預期快!
看來份量剛好夠女生的食量!
來自意大利的正方形意粉脹卜卜,外表幾吸引!
入口煙韌!
 包住菠菜及一點芝士,還混合薯仔。自行灑上芝士粉,芝味無窮!
蕃茄醬落得慷慨!酸度恰到好處!
 用上新鮮菠菜,食起來略帶嚼感!
 羅勒葉散發獨特的香氣!不增加食慾!即時開胃起來!

以心形茶具盛載更迷人!
 用上比利時朱古力粉,加入忌廉拌勻,熱朱古力表面帶有些少油脂,滿口幼滑柔順的口感,忌廉的確起了重大作用!
可是跟足紐約風味,味道偏甜!

 店員服務周到,環境舒適!可以再次幫襯嚐試其他口味的意粉!

臨走,還是去一去洗手間,由於地方所限;洗手間位置正是一座唐樓的樓梯下,所以樓底偏矮!
 個子不高的女生出入無問題!卻令男士帶來不便啊!
