I've been to Pop Bites quite a few times now, and compared to previous lunches and afternoon teas it was my most recent dinner there that turned out the most memorable in terms of food quality and service.
The six of us had a round of tasty appetizers - sauteed shrimp, mushroom on toast, a couple of salads - before our mains of various pastas, which were appropriately al dente. We couldn't resist the plethora of delectable-looking pastries on display and our beautifully-presented assorted platter of sweets was a great way to end our meal. My personal favourites were the green tea sponge cake and the opera, a chocolate and buttercream cake.
Bear in mind PB doesn't do fine dining but is instead meant to be a relaxed casual eatery for people to chat and chill out, and as that I'm quite happy with their food. They also have an extensive wine list at rather reasonable prices.
The waitstaff ought to be commended for their friendly and attentive service. Wine and water glasses were always promply refilled, and everything was done with a smile.
The bill came to about $230 per head, including 3 bottles of table wine. Not bad at all considering we could've easily spent a lot more and gotten a lot less in that area. We'd definitely be back for another cozy meal.
