The first several times I visited this burger place was in Japan. I tried the regular hamburger and shrimp burger (not the seafood burger in HK, the whole patty is made of shrip, just wanted to try something different, something not every where can find), this was a while ago, before MOS started their business in HK. Hardees (Carl's Jr. in US) is gone (still availabe in many other countries), MOS is now in, it makes people wondered what's the factors that can determine a burger place survive in HK.
I ordered a regular hamburger here, the size looks smaller than the standard (M's burger) but it's a bit thicker. I cannot say that they are not using tomato to make the sauce for the burger, for, there is a big piece of tomato at the burger, but, if you ask me if there is anything you don't like about the burger, I would say:
1. The sauce is obviously made with artificial color and the taste is very artificial. This is something yucky and unnecessary (it';s easy to make the sauce taste "natural").
2. It would be great if the burger is bigger, but I guess this will not be MOS... as you can see, the size is intentionally made small maybe because that's the standard image Japanese like?
On the other hand, I think the patty is pretty good, I would be surprise that if it is 100% beef, because it's "bouncy" and tender.
100% beef, why is it important?
When we make meat balls, and other miced meat, we always mix different kinds of meat together, right?
Even in Aus, sometimes ago, we heard people were using beef mixed with hourse meat and so on....
It turns out that, in US, if you claim that you are selling "hamburger", the patty being used has to be 100% beef; otherwise, it cannot be called as hamburger. You can still sell it, but it has to be another name, e.g. pork sandwich.
Finally one thing about this place, well, it can be better than apm already...
basically it's not a fastfood shop....
because the food is not fast anymore. Do your timing and compare next time. The line was not too long, I do not know how they group and allocate jobs at the assembly line inside, people seem to be working hard already. Just, it takes long long time for the shop to make a burger.
