We sat down and chatted while the waiter brought us the menu. I used the singular form because, for the three of us, we were initially given just one menu. We sat down and chatted while the waiter brought us the menu. I used the singular form because, for the three of us, we were initially given just one menu. This soon became two, but I was still puzzled by their refusal to give each one of us a menu, when there's clearly a whole stack of them by the door!

We were presented with a pork and mushroom terrine as the amuse bouche. I decided to pass on the seafood specials as well as the foie gras that the chef is famous for, and instead start with venison tartare. I've always liked venison, but was a little hesitant because I wondered how this gamey meat would taste in its raw form. The venison came in cubes like the salmon and tuna tartare commonly seen, instead of beaten like steak tartare. Thankfully the taste wasn't too heavy after the chef mixed in some spices.

I saw duck confit on the menu and immediately went for it. The leg that came before me surprised me a bit. There was a lot of fat here, and while the skin was still crispy and yummy, it wasn't as "dry" and crunchy as I had pictured in my mind. But hey, that meant the meat was moist so it's a good thing. I also liked the numerous condiments on the side - especially the caramelized shallots and truffled scallop potatoes.

I again went for something classic when it came to dessert - tarte tatin. As this wasn't a big restaurant with a dessert cart, they produced an individual portion instead of giving me a slice of a larger tarte. The apple came in chunky cubes instead of really thin slices, so overall the tarte was wet and became a bit soggy. I would have much preferred the thin and crispy type, but I understand the difficulty of doing that at a place like this.

今日同事同我慶祝生日,所以嚟食Lunch,我哋要了2 個Lunch set,頭盤是Egg, Bacon and onion,嗰樣怪怪哋好似早餐咁,但味道都OK嘅, 個sauce 帶點酒味,不錯呢 Waitress 仲tim咗D熱麵包比我哋,個麵包幾好味。Main course 我點了 beef cheeks, 煮得很淋,D配菜也好味 飯後Waitress比咗嗰香焦蛋糕我哋,但我不吃的,佢就換咗嗰floating island 比我哋 唔該哂,最後嘆杯Coffee,真的不錯。差點兒忘記同個friend講聲謝謝tim多謝哂

環境好細,我自己覺得好核凸娘到爆嘅水晶燈綠色係主調典解咁bad taste架麵包熱辣辣,幾軟熟不過舊牛油孤寒左啲囉南瓜湯, 好濃嘅南瓜蓉中意食南瓜實中意我食呢個係用豬肉和蘑姑整嘅凍肉有蘑姑香,肉又醃到好夠味,好好食,好多料架beef shoulder,好林,唔"un", 好香牛味,正red snapper,我覺得腥左少少同埋硬左少少甜品係麵包夾朱古力雪糕再架朱古力醬, 可惜唔夠香朱古力味唔合格

It is probably good for my waistline that I didn't find out about Green Mouse sooner. It is probably good for my waistline that I didn't find out about Green Mouse sooner. Now that I have found this great restaurant, at least my wallet won't regret it.

My wife and I were attracted by the HK$88 lunch special. It seemed like a great way to check on the pedigree of a Chez Patrick offshoot. We've both enjoyed our previous meals at both Peel St. and Wanchai locations of Chez Patrick so we had high hopes. We weren't disappointed.

She ordered the cauliflower and pumpkin soup to start, while I tried the escargot terrine. The terrine immediately struck me with it's fresh taste, and the presentation with a small heap of lettuce also gave it a light taste. This was unexpected for a terrine, which I normally associate with heavier, more filling meals.

Meanwhile, the cauliflower and pumpkin soup tasted rich and had some seasoning, but it was not very strong on the palate. Clearly a healthy dose of cream had gone into the soup.

Her main course of ox tongue at first seemed to be weakly flavored. I tried some and had the same experience: after chewing a bit, the distinctive flavor and smell were more apparent and each of us ended up glad that the sauce was not so strong as to mask the flavor of the meat. It is a contrast to the much heavier sauces that I have normally associated with ox tongue. The tongue was very, very tender: the chef said he cooks it for at least four hours to achieve such a soft consistency.

My chicken roll was also quite tender, as if it had been cooked sous vide. The sauce complimented it very nicely and balanced out the tasty potatoes, sweet potato puree, and mixed vegetables that accompanied both lunches.

The dessert of the day was a tasty fruit cake with icing sugar topping. The cake was not overly sweet yet it was also moist and had abundant fruit in the filling.

Normally I am a big eater and I enjoy robust portion sizes. So I was very surprised to find myself filling up on an HK$88 prix fixe lunch: this is not normally the case. Such good food with such good value is much easier to find in HK if one does not go do western-style restaurants. To find this combination of quality and value in a French restaurant, and one in which the surroundings are simple and the staff is professional, makes it something of a rarity in my view. We'll go back for sure.

常常想起在歐洲住時吃過的鵝肝, 聽說這裡鵝肝正, 就來了.晚上突然下了好一場雨, 餐廳只我們一枱, 點了tasting menu, 比set dinner 貴但可試多d appetizer (鵝肝, snails), 非常滿意, 主菜我們不約而同只要魚 (其實可揀2款). 就是那精緻的魚卷.主菜,配菜,醬汁都細緻, 豐富.甜品的floating island 用碟上, 我想比set lunch 的小杯發揮空間大, 實在做得好. I visit openrice.com more often than anyone else for its reliable and trustworthy comments. However, I never had any strong feeling to write one myself until today! This place is definitely like no other...We expected nothing in particular, because we never had any third party feedbacks or fancy ads that drew us into the door. The door of Green mouse is not trying to give you a pricey/classy/cocky kind of feeling, it rather offers you a down-to-earth feeling and tells you what food is all about.

We expected nothing in particular, because we never had any third party feedbacks or fancy ads that drew us into the door. The door of Green mouse is not trying to give you a pricey/classy/cocky kind of feeling, it rather offers you a down-to-earth feeling and tells you what food is all about.

I simply ordered a $88 lunch set: Warm Brie Cheese in Crust as the starter, Roasted Lamb Shoulder for the main, and a privately offered almond creme brulee as the ending piece.

The starter was my very first try in my life... the pan-fried crispy crust was protecting the chewy melting cheese inside. I am a born cheese lover so this was just my dish! The roasted lamb was tender and juicy. There were so many pieces on the plate, which was totally unexpected and unnecessary for just a $88 course! The side dishes were spectacular as well, with the fine mix of carrot mousse nicely set aside. There were recognizable pieces of almonds in the creme brulee, and would be better if it was less sugary, but it was still a nice one.

My friend ordered a $198 lunch set. She exclaimed that her 2 big pieces of goose livers were as good as the ones she had overseas. The surface of the liver was pan-fried to crispy golden brown. I had a bite of her sea bass, the texture was really soft and the moisture was still well-kept. Her apple pie was not as sugary as my dessert, and the pastry was nicely baked.

Paying for $88 and $198 for such sensational quality and quantity made the day for me and my friend. We both could feel the heart and enthusiasm the chef put in his food... and should worth a round of applause.

看過食友的食評及靚相,是間值得一試的小店,在網上看到是日餐牌有磨菇肉凍及燴羊肩,吸引,正巧是日「無王管」,是試菜大好日子。繼法國鵝肝專門店、Chez Patrick後替結志街市添上異國氣氛的小店,午市百元左右套餐招徠來不少上班族,為數不少是來傾生意的。甫坐下也不作他想,要了肉凍及燴羊肩。裝潢絕非這裡賣點,帶著家庭氣氛服務,不時會聽著茶部洗碗、撞碟聲,大家習以為常,無傷雅興繼續吃,隨便一點的法國菜,感覺來得更舒服。等了一會,肉凍比餐包更早上,不是忘記上餐包,最大原因應該是要加熱給點半鐘來的次輪客人。肉凍伴有大量沙律菜,花了好些功夫,肉凍出到來的整體感覺(賣相)仍是怪可愛的~欣賞廚子是個老實人。肉凍以豬肉為主,沒有內臟,微微香草去掉雜羶味,也有磨菇帶起的香味,很家常風味,易散,若肉凍能多添些骨膠元的鮮味,就更滿意了。主菜燴羊肩,用厚重紅邊圓碟盛著,伴有烤過的車喱茄、去衣(邊線)的荷蘭豆,還有甘筍、薯蓉伴碟,色澤豐富,羊肩連著脂肪,用上強烈胡椒及少量香草燴煮,汁是原煲倒出的濃稠羊汁,羊肩肉比較「實淨」,幸好燴得夠身,吃起來軟腍富肉香,脂肪部分也吃到應有羶脂,滿意,如果能減少胡椒的比例,更能吃

主菜我點了煎豬扒配caramelized honey sauce。豬扒頗厚,只加黑楜椒和鹽乾煎,味道主要靠那些甜甜的蜜糖醬汁。可惜豬扒真的煎得太老了,外皮有點乾之餘,肉質亦非常實,令人要嚼得很費勁才嚥得下。醬汁的味道雖好但卻放得太少了。 嚴格來說,這道菜是失敗的。

甜品的兩片歐陸式蛋糕,只能說是普通,不會令人回味。至於餐飲的咖啡則非常濃和苦,並不是我喜愛的類別

總括而言,我和朋友都覺得大廚是個對食物有要求的人,每道菜的味道都很平衡,醬汁的味道亦調得很有心思。亦欣賞主菜上桌時的碟子有認真地預熱過,與食物一樣,是熱辣辣的。如果不是豬扒的失敗和稍嫌主菜的份量過少,我想我會給一個smiley face 的。

見佢新開而評語又唔錯….set lunch前菜、主菜、甜品再加上飲品都只是$78加一…在中環區來說其實是很抵吃的~所以就同sheep去試下...去到差不多LUNCH尾...所以只有我們一檯客~自從在Sabatini吃過parma ham哈蜜瓜之後, 我就愛上了這個頭盤...從未見過用西瓜做配搭的...所以當然要試下呢~甜甜的西瓜其實味道都不錯的...不過我認為西瓜太多水份...會令到整個parma ham個味道都變淡了, 所以我還是認為用哈蜜瓜會比較好, 連sheep都有同感呢…另外Sheep選的蕃茄忌廉濃湯都不錯呢~茄味很濃郁….很幼滑~主菜我選了lamp chop…煎得剛剛好…羊肉嫩滑而且有不少肉汁…但是只得兩塊細細…連我一個女仔吃都覺得不太夠…..sheep的煙肉忌廉意粉就一般…是creamy…但醬汁比較少…同時醬汁也不多…..吃到後期有一點乾…所以不及我個lamp chop咁出色~最後來的番石榴乳酪甜品…乳略偏甜…不過味道可以接受~整體來說質素不錯…但是份量就偏少….有少許食得不滿足的感覺呢…..

最後來的番石榴乳酪甜品…乳略偏甜…不過味道可以接受~

整體來說質素不錯…但是份量就偏少….有少許食得不滿足的感覺呢…..

We called in advance to review the dinner menu and made slight changes to the 5-courses tasting menu at no extra cost!
1 – Pan Fried Rougie Foie Gras Caramel Sauce and Foie Gras Crème Brulee
•Very impressed with the foie gras, pan fried to almost perfection and served in a particular generous size; the foie gras crème brulee mousse was really fine and creamy
•The appetizer is definitely a heaven to a foie gras lover, absolute my favorite!
2 – Creamy Sea Food Chowder Soup
•A coffee-cup size creamy soup, chef again was pretty generous on the quantity of seafood, but I kind of think that the seafood has not blend into the creamy soup much
3 – Pan Fried King Prawn & Steam Crab Meat Cake, Green Parsley Juice
•The steam crab meat cake was not the ordinary Thai-style crab cake, it was prepared in some sort of “custard/ quiche” style, quite a nice surprise and a well executed dish
4 – Duet of Pan Fried Beef Fillet, Rich Port Wine Sauce & Roasted Lamb Chop, Balsamic Honey Sauce
•Beef Fillet was served with American steak and prepared just right – medium rare and meat was pretty tender
•Roasted Lamb Chop – slightly overcooked but still pretty good
5 – Floating Island with Vanilla Sauce
•The dessert was my next favorite – foamy egg white served with vanilla custard sauce, the floating island was very airy and sweetness was just right!
All in all, the tasting menu was pretty good – 5-star authentic French style and really worth for its value: $450 for 5-courses!
Speak about Service:
•The restaurant captain Alan was very attentive and sent us the menu in advance and addressed our changes without hesitation.
•The Chef also came to our table and we had a nice talk with Chef Dimitri about the meal.
•Note – Chef Dimitri used to be the sous-chef at Chez Patrick (and the menu at Green Mouse is less expensive than that of Chez Patrick)
Speak about Value:
•$450 for 5-courses dinner, indeed good value for the food quality and attentive service
•Have yet to try the $88 lunch menu, bet that’s a really great deal!

個個都係食午餐, 有無人試過晚餐呀? 我就去試左...果然係無人食晚餐嘅, 我同個friend 完全係包場, 由差不多八點至十點幾都係得我地一抬, 約九點有一班人入黎, 我以為係客, 但佢地應該係識餐廳d 人, 我地走時佢地其中一個人起身開門俾我地, 咁... 應該唔算係客掛...晚餐有個set menu, $398 3-courses, soho 價, 同lunch 嘅抵食差好遠. 而且選擇少, appetiser 同main 都得3 個選擇, appetiser 有 Foie Gras Terrine, scallop or prawn, 我地食左Foie Gras, 咸左d, 個toast 就幾香. main course 有tuna, lamb 同 牛, 我friend 唔食牛, 我地都唔食tuna, 咁咪食羊囉, 但係佢果個係羊肉卷, 好似係羊肉卷pama ham, "鞋" 左d, 唔好食, 另外我地叫左個sea bass, "un" 左d, 我諗overcook 左, 但個魚皮係脆嘅.dessert 可以揀menu 上是但一樣, 我地揀左心太軟 好甜, 唔突出.老實

多得友人相告,中環開了一間新餐廳,價錢十分相宜。看openrice食評,發現午餐甜品竟然有floating island!這道甜品不算難做,但烹調時候溫度掌握需要十分準確,很少餐廳會用作daily dessert呢。午餐價錢實在相宜,前菜、主菜、甜品再加上飲品都只是$78+10%。找天就到green mouse試試看。服務生領我們上樓上閣樓,環境有點簡陋,而且冷氣也很強(當時只有2枱客人)。我穿了外套也感到有點冷,鄰枱客人要求將冷氣溫度調高,服務生也只是敷衍了事,當有第3枱客人到達,服務生即時將冷氣溫度調低。餐前麵包─普普通通。mixed seafood pie─點菜前詢問服務生海鮮批用料有無有魷魚,回覆是「沒有」。菜上到來時才發現是含魷魚的。parma ham with melon─不得不讚廚師的刀功,可以將蜜瓜切得這麼薄!parma ham味道偏鹹,配上又甜又水份充足的蜜瓜實在十分美味,但奉上蜜瓜的份量實在少得可憐,吃光後,只有乾食鹹火腿。lamp chop─平常這道菜是有3塊羊扒的,但這裡只有2塊,配菜又少,男生會感到不夠。味道普通。steam sole fillet roll─

- 大家的 main course 都揀了 lamb chop, 要 medium-rare: 一切開, 果然 medium-rare, 羊肉嫩滑, 羊味夠, 不過可能因為係「medium-rare 偏向 medium」, 肉汁一般, 我覺得再生少少會更好食; 伴碟的亦絕不馬虎, 特別欣賞 pan-fried potato 香口又唔油膩, 好食.
- daily dessert: 其實 guava mousse 都幾難食唔出, 不過食到呢度, 大廚 Dmitri (關於佢: http://green-mouse.no-ip.info/gm/chef.html) 由廚房走了出來, 問我0地估唔估到呢個係乜, 哈哈
食落係十分幼滑, 好香 fresh guava 味, 輕盈清新, 好食.
- 仲有杯 coffee: 幾香, 不過對我0黎講太苦太啃了, 加上呢期身體麻麻, 飲完無耐即胃痛 @_@"

小店環境 cozy, 優雅又帶點 casual; waiter 們好有禮貌, 仲有友善的 chef 走出來問我0地好唔好食, service 好好.

各方面都好唔錯, 加上呢度係中環, 連加每人只需 $87, 好抵, 值得一試 -- 不過 Christmas party 0黎呢度的話, 我0地就嚴重 "out bud" 喇!
