今日去開跑馬地工作，得知麥記有新包推出，之前已經試左其中一款，今次就試令一款，其實我都考慮了一陣，因為睇宣傳賣相都已經覺得唔夠之前一款好食，但最後我都決定試新口味。以下就係近鏡影新款的飯tastic的樣子⋯⋯其實買的時候，我有想過要求多醬，因為睇宣傳版，已經覺得好似好乾，但因為怕多醬時那些飯唔知會唔會因此變濕，所以都係試原裝正版會好一點，點知乾到解釋不到，好後悔。那隻蛋已經夠乾，加兩塊肉，大家可以想像，那些肉一點味道都沒有，隻蛋就更加零味道，茄汁又唔夠。成個餐，薯條都很少，但這個應該關員工事。Anyway.我建議大家食令一款親子飯tastic會更好。

其實買的時候，我有想過要求多醬，因為睇宣傳版，已經覺得好似好乾，但因為怕多醬時那些飯唔知會唔會因此變濕，所以都係試原裝正版會好一點，點知乾到解釋不到，好後悔。
那隻蛋已經夠乾，加兩塊肉，大家可以想像，那些肉一點味道都沒有，隻蛋就更加零味道，茄汁又唔夠。
成個餐，薯條都很少，但這個應該關員工事。
Anyway.我建議大家食令一款親子飯tastic會更好。

The featured burger is a Pulled Chicken burger, and along with it, they are also selling Thick Cut Fries as a special item.

The commercial for this burger has been running on tv frequently, and I must say the narrator's English is pretty appalling as it took me viewing the ad about 3 times to understand the sauce is tandoori sauce. (I've seen people call it a cheese sauce which, to me, means they didn't understand what the narrator was saying either!)

Pulled Chicken Burger: The bread is a soft roll that is different from their regular burger bun. The most prominent thing you see when you unwrap the burger is the big onion ring, and the pulled chicken is actually hiding inside the onion ring. (The second time I had this burger, they had a much smaller onion ring that was hidden in the pulled chicken.) There was also a glob of white sauce in the middle of the pulled chicken that tasted like a mayo. Underneath the pulled chicken was a thin layer of coleslaw.

The pulled chicken was pretty tasty with the tandoori sauce, and the onion ring did add a big crunch factor to the burger. The mayo was a little lost in the burger since tandoori sauce is already a flavor bomb. The coleslaw was not as crunchy as expected, and since this is a pulled chicken burger, I thought it would be closer to a Southern coleslaw that would be a little sweet, but it wasn't. The flavor combination of the whole burger was quite interesting, but it wasn't what I'd expect when I heard Pulled Chicken as Southern pulled pork is made with BBQ sauce! (The wrapped of the burger did have a picture of pulled pork on it in addition to the pulled chicken burger, so maybe, there will be another burger for this campaign? I'm only speculating...)

Thick Cut Fries: These fries are different from the normal McDonald's fries in that they had a stronger potato flavor, and of course, they were thicker and had a different texture. I like that they featured a special fries for this burger, and it was appropriate for the campaign. However, I wouldn't want McDonald's to replace their iconic fries since that's what I've come to expect when I go to Mickey D's!

Overall, I believe that this is another successful campaign for McDonald's. Some people have said that this is nothing special, but I think you have to compare an apple to an apple! If you are comparing it to a burger specialty restaurant, of course, this pulled chicken burger would be inferior, but this is a McDonald's burger! For the price you pay for the whole meal, the flavor and quality are pretty good!

But for some reason, it came looking like this. I don't know why the mushroom was on top? Anyways .... it really wasn't good, too. Everything was soggy and clumped together. The meat was dry.

Hot And Herbs McWings (6 pieces for $37.20). This fared better than the burger. The wings were a bit spicier than I had anticipated. Crispy skin and not too oily. Tasted ok. But not much herb taste though I could see bits of herbs on top.

You get six chicken wings, two of each flavor: original, honey lemon and crispy garlic. The honey lemon ones were really dark in color and I assume roasted? I don't know. But they were really dry and tough. The crispy garlic tasted a lot like original which is ok as I think original tastes pretty good and are a whole lot better than KFC.

Packing came with a cute picture of a Minion. Tastewise, it was strong in banana with chunks of the fruit inside. Boyfriend liked it a lot. I'm not a big banana dessert fan so this was not for me.

By adding $30 to any purchase, you can buy a set of eating utensils that include one spoon and one fork. Their are three to collect. The staff let me buy all three sets at once if I wanted but I wasn't too interested in the third set so only bought two. Now I have cute Minion forks to eat my fruit with and Minion spoons to eat my jelly cups!

The burger had a chicken patty with lettuce, bacon and cheese and honey mustard sauce. The sauce was pretty good. I liked it. The bacon was soggy but then I've never had any where in Hong Kong that will fry their bacon until crispy like it's SUPPOSED to. The lettuce was limp. But that wasn't what I was appalled over. It was the chicken patty. It was beyond dry. It tasted like cardboard. How does McDonald's do it? Make a chicken patty that doesn't taste like chicken but like cardboard? I have no words.

The potato cheese balls weren't very cheesy. I split it open and could only find a few spots of cheese at all in it. It wasn't very good but at least they were hot. It's a good thing I had ketchup in my fridge. I added ketchup and it tasted better.

I added money and upgraded my drink to the Superman drink. It's bubble gum McFloat. It came in a cup with the Superman logo. The drink was VERY blue in color with a scoop of whipped cream. To McDonald's credit, it did taste like gum mixed with Sprite. However, it also tasted digusting. It was so gross, I couldn't finish it.

Like the Batman set, the packaging was pretty good. Like the Batman set, I didn't like any of the food items. I think this set was even worse than the Batman set. I don't know who they will have next in their Justice League series. I hope the next set will taste better. Or maybe I just like to torture myself because I love theme based food so much.

McDonald's is doing a Justice League of America promotion. Since I love Batman, I ordered this for takeaway for dinner. They are also selling little Justice League characters for added amount of money. Unfortunately, Batman was sold out. BOO!!!! They also had Wonder Women, Superman, The Flash and Green Lantern. I wasn't interested in those.

They are currently serving a Batman themed meal that is a Diner Double Beef Burger. $33 for a combo that includes fries and drink. You can upgrade the fries for an added price for the Batman themed fries (squeezy cheesy fries) and upgrade the drink to the Batman themed drink which is sparkling apple tea. As I was here for the Batman theme, I thought ... why not so upgraded everything.

Packaging was great. The fries and burger came in a box shaped like Batman.

The fries came in a rectangular box. You can punch out the sides to make the cape and ears more prominent. It was great. Looked like Batman! They gave me a fork to eat with the fries. Only in Hong Kong would I get a fork with my fries.

It came with a package of processed cheese and package of bacon bits. You were to follow the instructions and squeeze the package of processed cheese together onto the fries. No need to open the package, it squeezed out very easily.

Unfortunately, it tasted horrible. I had forgotten to not order fries at the Happy Valley branch at night because it's always quiet and the fries have been sitting their so long after being fried, it's soggy. The cheese didn't taste like cheese. I KNOW. It's processed cheese but at least taste like Cheez Whiz or something similar? Instead it tasted like orange colored cream. The bacon bits tasted like McCormick's fake bacon bits you sprinkle on salad.

The Diner Double beef burger box was also pretty good to look at. You can punch out the ears.

The burger was two beef patties, an egg and chopped onions. On the bottom was a mayonnaise pepper sauce. The top was another drizzle of black pepper sauce. Combination of the two sauces made it taste rancid.

The sparkling apple green tea came in a Batman cup. It tasted like apple flavored Sprite. I wasn't impresssed. After letting it sit for a while ... fell asleep from jet lag, it tasted bitter.

We could choose two different seasoning spices from the three available: citrus, seaweed and Cantonese BBQ. Cantonese BBQ was not stated on the menu but the staff said it was available for us to choose and some other staff member also exclaimed it was AMAZINGLY good. Then some customer said "yeah .. it's REALLY GOOD!" So, we chose seaweed and Cantonese BBQ. We could choose a dipping sauce for the McNuggets and we chose Honey Mustard because, honestly ... THE BEST McNugget sauce and not many McDonald's offer it as they only give out sweet and sour. Thai chilli sauce was also given for the chicken wings.

I think the problem with this is that there wasn't enough chicken for all the seasonings we were given. Two packs of seasoning for eight McBites so we split four into one bag with one bag of seasoning and the other four in another bag with seasoning. It ended up making the chicken over coated with the spices, causing them to be overly salty. My friend ended up trying to bounce off some of the excess seasoning on her chicken bit. I should note, the Cantonese BBQ seasoning really was good as the staff told us. It worked perfectly with the chicken and really did taste like Cantonese BBQ. Seaweed didn't work so well with the chicken bits.

All in all, there was just too much seasoning compared to chicken. For $30, there wasn't a lot of chicken to service all the seasoning so it just was wasted away. The chicken McBites were really good though as they were moist. Much better than KFC's popcorn chicken which are always dry and cold. McWings, in my opinion, is always WAY better than KFC as they are crunchy yet juicy at the same time. McNuggets are from the new poultry product provider to McD's and I felt they tasted the same but boyfriend felt they were more dry. Would not order this sharing box again.

我估唔到....跑馬地第一個食評係麥當勞..我到左跑馬地好肚餓點解要去跑馬地??去回憶開心事.....麥當勞我只會評環境.服務.食物溫度.....品質我相信全部麥當勞都差唔多今次為個杯,而戰.....叫加大...環境在跑馬地.....叫做差.好細.好嘈.坐得唔舒服....服務...效率都好快.....食物溫度只是微暖......好快就變凍.......我最尊敬的人....講過我一個舊同學做m記經理...搞到我覺得的m記經理好樣衰的確我心中痛恨我的舊同學...而我親眼見過,一個m記經理.....處理唔到問題.即場大喊大叫.....可見有些麥當勞處理問題能力不高......只值ok.....

早上7點9, 駕車來此麥記, 俾媽在門口下車, 停一停, 諗住"炸炸林" 買完走人.買兩個餐都要10分鐘, 我一路在門口睇實, 真係未見過麥記排隊排到去門口.點做快餐店呀...當然, 麥記係好食, 但呢間效率真係有問題, 希望經理正視.

剛看食評,何以大家都說這店很差? 難道,別店的蝦漢堡更好吃?由於把下午那一餐讓了給壽司,這晚終於有機會試了. 先買一個set試試是否好吃,一打開,有點失望. 廣告賣的永遠是比較誘人,我還真的以為炸蝦餅上有幾隻大蝦,原來,那些大蝦只是從蝦餅裏滲出來,當然,現實世界並不如此. 再者,蝦餅很細,醬汁很少,整個漢堡看起來都很細,實在不值$26一個餐. 但還好蝦餅咬落尚算彈牙,亦算有蝦味,最後二人不夠飽,再買多了一個set來分吃.無可否認,麥當勞畢竟是連鎖式經營,水準,用料,質量都不能與外面的漢堡店相比,但既然決定做,就試着做好一點吧.

剛看食評,何以大家都說這店很差? 難道,別店的蝦漢堡更好吃?

由於把下午那一餐讓了給壽司,這晚終於有機會試了. 先買一個set試試是否好吃,一打開,有點失望. 廣告賣的永遠是比較誘人,我還真的以為炸蝦餅上有幾隻大蝦,原來,那些大蝦只是從蝦餅裏滲出來,當然,現實世界並不如此. 再者,蝦餅很細,醬汁很少,整個漢堡看起來都很細,實在不值$26一個餐. 但還好蝦餅咬落尚算彈牙,亦算有蝦味,最後二人不夠飽,再買多了一個set來分吃.

無可否認,麥當勞畢竟是連鎖式經營,水準,用料,質量都不能與外面的漢堡店相比,但既然決定做,就試着做好一點吧.

這間真的稱得上謂全hk最bad 的一間m記~~如果唔係happy valley無乜o野食我一定唔會食!!次次食d野都唔新鮮。(除非叫佢即刻整啦)d菜勁黃,d chip又勁少~~我已經打了去m記投訴過,但一d改善也沒有~~
