McDonald's is doing a Justice League of America promotion. Since I love Batman, I ordered this for takeaway for dinner. They are also selling little Justice League characters for added amount of money. Unfortunately, Batman was sold out. BOO!!!! They also had Wonder Women, Superman, The Flash and Green Lantern. They are currently serving a Batman themed meal that is a Diner Double Beef Burger. $33 for a combo that includes fries and drink. You can upgrade the fries for an added price for the Batman themed fries (squeezy cheesy fries) and upgrade the drink to the Batman themed drink which is sparkling apple tea. As I was here for the Batman theme, I thought ... why not so upgraded everything.
Packaging was great. The fries and burger came in a box shaped like Batman.
The fries came in a rectangular box. You can punch out the sides to make the cape and ears more prominent. It was great. Looked like Batman! They gave me a fork to eat with the fries. Only in Hong Kong would I get a fork with my fries.
It came with a package of processed cheese and package of bacon bits. You were to follow the instructions and squeeze the package of processed cheese together onto the fries. No need to open the package, it squeezed out very easily.
Unfortunately, it tasted horrible. I had forgotten to not order fries at the Happy Valley branch at night because it's always quiet and the fries have been sitting their so long after being fried, it's soggy. The cheese didn't taste like cheese. I KNOW. It's processed cheese but at least taste like Cheez Whiz or something similar? Instead it tasted like orange colored cream. The bacon bits tasted like McCormick's fake bacon bits you sprinkle on salad.
The Diner Double beef burger box was also pretty good to look at. You can punch out the ears.
The burger was two beef patties, an egg and chopped onions. On the bottom was a mayonnaise pepper sauce. The top was another drizzle of black pepper sauce. Combination of the two sauces made it taste rancid.
The sparkling apple green tea came in a Batman cup. It tasted like apple flavored Sprite. I wasn't impresssed. After letting it sit for a while ... fell asleep from jet lag, it tasted bitter.
Great packaging. Sadly, food was digusting. Batman would have thrown in the trash. They'll have other characters coming soon. Wonder what they will be?
