Set Lunch:黑豬沙律 + 椰菜花湯 + 豬排 + 自選飲品
- 黑豬沙律:
黑豬切成片狀,底部伴以蘋果絲同沙律菜,一層層叠起為視覺增添層次感,車厘茄切成可愛心形狀,溝成吸引既賣相。黑豬肉質嫩滑,配上清甜爽口既蘋果絲同沙律菜係完美既配撘,如果黑豬香味可以濃一d 就更 perfect。
- 椰菜花湯:

喜出望外之作。白白既菜湯看似平凡不已,一嚐之下,稀稠度適中、椰菜花本身天然香味突出、湯底唔會過濃,加上一點點松露碎,將湯味進一步提昇,當堂喚醒了味蕾!
從未見過麵包既烤焗顏色可以黎得咁自然,好似淡淡被塗上一層金黃色一樣。
- 豬排:
相反豬排有點令人失望。欣賞其醃料既運用,豬排表層除有黑椒香味,另外亦含一種特殊既食味,未有機會跟厨師交流,真攪唔清究竟用上邊種醃料。不足之處係豬排既肉質較乾、可能豬肉本身唔夠 "淋" ,又缺油脂,食落會有嚡口既感覺,未能將獨特既醃料味發輝出黎,有點可惜!

Deluxe Set:3款厨師選擇 + 鵝肝 + 椰菜花湯 + Sea Brass 柳 + 甜品 + 自選飲品
- 3款厨師精選包括:吞拿魚塊 + 煙膳 + 黑豬沙律
最喜歡係煙膳,第一次嚐試呢個烹調方法,好有新鮮感。膳肉肉質非常滑溜細緻,帶有不太濃烈既煙燻味,正合個人口胃,沾上一點生洋葱碎同爽脆既沙律菜,香軟脆滑集於一口,充滿口感同美味!吞拿魚一向唔係我杯茶,不過伴上沙律醬既小小魚塊,入口順暢,還是可以接受。黑豬沙律則與上述一致。
- 鵝肝:
因為憐憫之心,無特意食鵝肝好一段長時間,可能太耐無食,鵝肝入口既豐富香溢既油脂,久久不散;加上皮脆、入口即溶既質感、醒神既黑醋汁,這一切美味既配合,至今仍殘留腦海。

雖然鵝肝美味難擋,不過一想到不太人道既行為,我會盡可能少食。
- 椰菜花湯:與上述一致。
- Sea Brass 柳:
第二個喜出望外。無論 Sea Brass 肉質、食味都係我試過之中既最好!碟底盛有上湯,而魚肉亦無被煎過既痕跡,相信厨師係用熱上湯將魚肉滲熟,所以魚肉異常嫩滑,而魚味及調味亦完整咁保留响魚肉,水準之作。

- 甜品:檸檬 Sorbet + 朱古力慕絲

唔太熱衷甜品,但 Sorbet 絕對係我既至愛。檸檬味好香好 fresh,將餐後既飽滯洗滌一番,頓時感覺清新,好既甜品確實擁有如斯美妙既功能。
朱古力慕絲,最欣賞佢唔甜、夠滑溜,跟熱咖啡配撘,簡直相得益彰。個人鐘情較濃烈既朱古力味,因此稍為再加重朱古力味會更正。
- 熱咖啡跟小曲奇餅:
其實值得一提既係小曲奇餅,好鬆化,富牛油香味、唔甜兼帶小鹹香,我就覺得非常味美,而咖啡即被比曲奇餅同甜品下去了。

小客棧仲有一個小乾坤,從走廊直行有條小樓梯,樓梯上係一個可容納15人聚餐既小閣樓,小 Party 包場或聚餐啱曬。

By now, management must know that their service is the weak link in the experience. One can only assume it doesn't affect their revenue and, by extension, their core clientele. Our amuse bouche arrived with a barely intelligible explanation (even the Cantonese version) of diced clam in a chasseur-ish sauce on saltine cracker -- ceviche a la française -- and a light ricotta cheese ball with sun-dried tomato topping. The clam was the better of the two; the ricotta could have done with more lemon or the sun-dried tomato with more salt.

We had the "ordinary" menus, which began with a butterflied prawn on a pineapple compote with a slice of grapefruit. I'm often dubious of fruity concoctions but the two fruits seemed to have rested in each other's juices for some time, as their flavors were not overly sweet or sour. It worked well.

An al dente linguine alla vongole followed (nice to know that French food is allowed to be pan-European in HK), perfectly cooked and dressed in a thin sheen of light tomato paste. The generous claim pieces and garlic were lumped on top of the pasta swirl. Delicious combination, with the tomato sauce more for color than taste and therefore not unbalancing the dish.

What was advertised as a cream of cauliflower soup with truffle oil ended up tasting more like upscale Campbell's mushroom with some ground nuts and saltines. But it was good.

I chose the Kurobuta pork rack and my wife took the lamb chops. Mine were nicely browned and braised and very flavorful. Served with a tasty zucchini slice, baby corn, baby asparagus, this was entirely satisfying.

My wife's lamb was ordered 'medium' and arrived looking perfectly rare. This seems to be an imposition of personal taste by the chef, and consistent with what one gets in France, but annoying when it means the dish must be sent back to the kitchen.

Dessert was a slice of berry tart on graham cracker crust with blueberry on top, and a crème brûlée. A nice finish.

No complaints about the bread, by the way. There was toasted baguette, lightly grilled sourdough, and a (underwhelming) focaccia.

The overall experience suggests a restaurant that caters explicitly to the HK version of 西餐. Great if you like that; unfortunately 馬馬虎虎 if you're expecting a more standard version of the French dining experience.

Went there for a pre-Christmas gathering. Since we had a group of 10 or so, they required a fix menu. The menu seems rather economical for $450 per head with 7 courses, until we found out when we got there that the first 2 "courses" would not be considered as a course in other restaurants. They are Hor D'oeuvre Selection (just a couple of cold cuts on top of crakers that other restaurants would give you for free, and not included on menu) and Mixed Bread with Tomato Salsa (which is just bread wi

The waitress serving us is one of those least friendly faces I have ever seen. On top of that, she refused to ask to the kitchen to make the pork chop fully cooked for our pregnant friend. Saying that they would only serve it medium well. The pork chop looks more well done than medium well to me when it was served...
After we finished dessert, we were still a bit unsatisfied on the sweet tooth side and were going to bring out our own cake. We were not even going to ask for extra plates and forks, but the "friendly waitress" came over and told us that they would charge for cake cutting service. Come on... it's not like we didn't order dessert from them, nor did we ask them to serve our cake on new plates. I would not complain so much if the waitress is more courteous, but the way she spoke was just rude.

i've been three times since this place opened. once was for a private dinner party upstairs. it's quite good french food, on par with the likes of bonheur, but bit more expensive ($400-$500 range vs just below $400). the restaurant is v dark downstairs, can barely read the menu. also it has like maybe 3 tables downstairs and is quite cramped. so not a v comfortable sitting experience. the service is OK, they try hard to accomodate our requests etc but like most speakeasies in hk, it's local

overall, the food is very good, just a cut below 5star hotel restaurants. the food is consistently good, unlike alot of restaurants that got a lot of hype in beginning then it got greedy and food starts to go bad. Given it's still around after a few years, it's a testament to their consistency. It's definitely worth trying if you haven't been.

I have been to the Red Tavern twice for dinner. The first time was better than the second and I am not sure there will be a third.Firstly, I have to seriously gripe about the bread/butter. All self-respecting French restaurants serve good French bread and great butter. You will get none of this here. They will give you some pre-packed anchor butter and some overly airy, soft bread. This sort of set the tone for my expectations for the evening, despite having read the numerous raving reviews.W

Firstly, I have to seriously gripe about the bread/butter. All self-respecting French restaurants serve good French bread and great butter. You will get none of this here. They will give you some pre-packed anchor butter and some overly airy, soft bread. This sort of set the tone for my expectations for the evening, despite having read the numerous raving reviews.

We had the long degustation menus both times we were there. The food was decent and there were many courses but overall, nothing was memorable. (I have to apologize for being so unspecific here but you can tell, clearly nothing stood out in my memory). For me, there's nothing here I will specifically come back for. Mushroom soup was predictable and salty. The vegetables that came with the dishes were so boring (like poached broccoli, carrots). I will be more specific if I ever go back to that place again.
For a degustation menu, I think Robuchon or Caprice is way better than this place.

Service was spotty. They mixed up the plates and had some problems understanding English. Sitting is rather tight and not very comfortable. Temperature is uneven though the lighting is quite cosy.

My first time at the Red Tavern last year was not bad. The second time this March was barely passable. Try it, you may be very pleasantly surprised if you are willing to keep your expectations very low for a HK$500-800 meal.

Went there for dinner, the place is pretty small. but the food is really good. I m quite amazed by the quality, taste and the presentation of every dish. Worth a few tries!!

Husband wants a place for the whole family of 16 and we booked the 1st floor for a dinner party.We took the whole floor for our private party. Decoration is good and classic. The chef told us all the antique are genuine. So we need to be careful.Food is delicious. Since we have 16 people, we could share all the food. All the main dishes are good except price is high. Costs us more than $500 per head.

Newly done up, but the interior design is not the most coherent. Conveniently located near the start of Gough Street, and excellent food & service. Starters:
Baked snails in filo pastry. Piping hot and nicely combined with cheese. High quality snails, did not have the pungent earthiness of lesser versions.
Smoked duck salad. Very good meat. Interesting dressing made with yuzu vinegar.

Soup: rich, dense mushroom soup with slice of fresh truffle. Again piping hot, served with love.

Mains:
Crab pasta. Linguine with a small mountain of fresh crab meat piled on top. Labour intensive and commendable.
Baked dover sole was great, came with a delicious sauce.

Dessert:
Combination plate which was ok, not great. An ordinary chocolate mousse cup, some kind of layer cake. The best was a lovely creme brulee with thin crunchy top.

Tea or coffee: normal.

it's my colleague's birthday yesterday so four of us went there for lunch, We made a booking and requested sitting on the second floor. They said they just changed menu and there are 5 choices of main course from $100-120. We didn\\\'t ordered deluxe menu and settled for seafood lingerine, lamb rack and rib eye steak. Mushroom soup,appetizer and all main course were good but portion was small. My lamb rack was so yummy! We asked them to refill garlic bread and salsa for 5 times! (because my boss

Grill chicken breast with wild mushroon sauce - 雞胸本身不會滑口, 這個是事實. 但這裡的可以做得好軟熟, 基本上以雞胸來說, 是不"鞋"了!!

這裡的服務不錯... 環境也很靜.

舒舒服服吃了一頓美味的午餐, 好滿足啊~

表妹係Canada返港周圍揾嘢食.佢去過出名嘅小籠包, 無數嘅甜品糖水鋪, fusion中國菜, 某周刊選出嘅no.1迴轉寿司,茶餐廳,布代澳嘅海鮮,連街邊嘅小食都試埋. 話要去据扒,compare吓canada同HKD牛扒. 問同学仔,一行人就去Red Tavern. 聞說係酒店大廚開嘅私房菜,而家開咗落地鋪,係蓮香酒樓附近. 難揾又斜路. 門面細不過裡面環景幾正,幾歐陸feel呀,啱哂我哋幾个人慢慢食同傾偈.. D嘢都幾好食特別喺个ribs話medium rare 就整到medium rare重喺grill 唔喺煎, 咬落脆有肉汁, 肉味湧出喱, very good表妹都話正.鵝肝都幾好. 表妹問点解鵝肝叫goose liver 唔喺叫花瓜(foie gras), 又學多一个法文.哈哈…
