新開學,一班同學老友約定食飯,有人提議去坤記試下D煲仔飯,聽講話出名到要排曬隊,於是乎,5點一落課就去等位,去到人家都未開門,就先留枱,6點搭正想入去噶時候,已經有十幾人涌緊入去,哇~好似真系好不得了喔。 入到去,老闆娘就系度安排座位,人少D都唔準坐大枱,一定要坐張細噶,而且講野態度真系唔多好咯,都冇回答噶餘地留俾D客,不過可能大家都慕名而來,又見人多,無謂出來食野都搞到唔開心,就聽聽話話——雖則系咁嗟,咁噶服務態度,真系有D得人驚喔。不過都系唔好咁快落結論,睇下點先。 等到人齊,就點餸,一人一個煲仔飯,再加兩個清淡D噶餸就可以啦。一共六個人點左臘味田雞飯、北菇滑雞飯、臘味滑雞飯、田雞白鱔飯、窩蛋牛肉飯、田雞滑雞飯加蛋、啫啫芥藍煲、紅燒豆腐煲。個窩蛋牛肉飯系后加噶,老闆娘行過來一邊寫單一邊竟然話:冇得再加噶啦。我地覺得好奇怪,問點解啦,老闆娘話:要一次過落曬單。我地都真系唔知嬲好定笑好,竟然唔中意客人加單噶? 老闆娘有言在先,煲仔飯要等成個鐘,好彩我地唔趕時間又多野講。所以先食芥藍煲同豆腐煲墊肚。芥藍煲D橄欖菜肉碎好惹味,芥藍又夠熟,唔怕硬,趁熱真系幾有風味。

老闆娘有言在先,煲仔飯要等成個鐘,好彩我地唔趕時間又多野講。所以先食芥藍煲同豆腐煲墊肚。芥藍煲D橄欖菜肉碎好惹味,芥藍又夠熟,唔怕硬,趁熱真系幾有風味。豆腐煲就比較一般,無功無過。

等到大家都終於有D冇野好講噶時候,煲仔飯終於出場啦!

先上來噶系田雞滑雞同滑雞白鱔,然後是臘味田雞同北菇滑雞,田雞滑雞話左要加蛋,竟然都唔記得左,要成只生雞蛋摞過來直接打落去。之後系窩蛋牛肉飯,我個臘味滑雞飯就包尾。

臘味滑雞D餸好足,臘腸潤腸臘肉,仲有雞同菜心。臘肉好想,五花腩肉醬香十足,連肥肉噶口感都半油半酒,出彩過D滑雞好多。飯有D干,一粒還一粒,飯焦嚼頭很足,滿足左我對煲仔飯最原始的焦香印象。總體來講,煲飯都抵個贊噶。

大家剛剛食完,8點左右,來食飯噶人開始排隊,老闆娘又過來話:你地D野上齊噶了喔,上齊就埋單啦!真系十足老闆架子啊~

友情提醒,大家如果好肚餓,或者容忍度不足,就唔好貿然去食啦,記得做好身心準備啊。

There were lots of people queuing outside, probably because it's getting colder these days AND the food in Kwan Kee is of such a high quality that it worths people waiting in the cold for long. Freakly, we had high expectations to Kwan Kee as many of my friends have applauded its 煲仔飯 as the best in town. Kwan Kee did not disapooint us though. The 飯焦 is so yummy!!! Before the coming of claypot rice, my friend and i ordered three more dishes: 粟米班腩,蔬茶煲 and 京都焗肉排 . They are equally delicious too!!!! I especially like 粟米班腩. The班腩 are very tender and it's so big that we're already a bit full after finishing the dish...


It's hard to pick a flaw for the food served here. Yet, like other famous restaurants who can always attract customers, Kwan Kee's service was not satisfactory, if not poor. Some waiters and waitresses there were a bit rude, giving us a rather negative impression. Of course, we're food slaves-- wherever there's good food, wherever we'll go. Hence, I'm sure we'll come back again

I almost do not want to leave a review because I don't want to share this place with others since it lessens my chance of getting a table!If you do choose to try to eat here, come very early (right as they open). Or, plan on waiting for about an hour for a seat in the street. Also, when you go here look at a menu before you sit so you can decide quickly what you want. I have been here twice and have yet to be dissapointed by anything. If you order quick and act decisive the staff will treat you nice and bring you things you order quickly. It is quite fun to watch them shew people away for not making a reservation or for taking too long to order.

The non claypot rice dishes are great and come out fast and piping hot. Their Bok Choy is very tastey. Prepare to order 1 or 2 of these dishes depending on how many people you have with you since your claypot rice dish will take about 30-45 minutes to come out. When it comes out copy the locals in the restaurant on how they prepare it. When the bottom rice hardens dig it up to the top! It is quite an amazing taste and is not to be missed!

Be prepared for Hong Kong attitude but embrace it and you will have a great time here! The prices are cheap for food and beer. And, the flavor is unlike anything else. Best had on a cold night.

要數煲仔飯最出色的,不得不提西環的坤記

我們吃飯要湯水滋潤,就先來客鯪魚球豆腐煲.清清的湯水呈魚湯奶白,味道當然不是那麼鮮,但至少喝完不會更口渴,也不肥膩,收貨有餘.鯪魚球粒粒飽滿,質地彈牙,魚肉打得鬆化,間中咬到髮菜陳皮的,也滿有鮮味,不錯.豆腐的滑度有餘,豆味不足,當咬咬下好了.

熱得熨口的羊肉肥瘦適中,酥味偏重,炆煮得軟稔入味,更不會有很多碎骨,啖啖肉的非常滋味,點些帶辣的腐竹入口更是惹味.枝竹片不會很硬很厚,冬菇也蠻有香味的,整體來說相當令人滿意-雖然以這種小店來說,這羊腩煲定價偏貴,但間中一次,讓自己吃好一點的也不過份吧?

最後的,也是最值得期待的,炭燒煲仔飯-就是那獨特的炭香,令不少食客隔區特意來吃,大排長龍也在所不辭.正因煲仔飯如此受歡迎,我們也要等上好一陣子.

終於送上的煲仔離開炭火還不久十秒,還在熱得滋滋作響.趁熱把豉油在飯面繞一圈在拌均,醬油遇上熱騰騰的飯化成一陣白煙-只可惜牛肉面的雞蛋已被窩熟,沒有了像蜜甜的蛋黃醬把飯粒裹住,有點令人失落.這裡的牛肉也頗普通,肉味不濃,也不鬆化,令人想念上環的永合成餐廳起來.但有一點是無可匹敵的,就是這裡的飯底-米飯粒粒飽滿,煲得是恰好的乾身,更充滿米香,只消添上少許豉油已是無敵的味道.

最重要是這裡的飯焦,叫不太吃飯的我也急急扒完手中那碗飯,好清掉煲底吃飯焦!-不像別處的飯焦,這裡的只要輕輕一刮,已經乖乖離底.頂部還黏有少許煙韌的飯粒,令一面卻是完美的焦楬色-咬下許,是清脆的卜滋一聲,入口質感像薯片般脆,卻多了一層米糯香;加上吸收了豉油和牛肉香氣,這薄薄的飯焦,真的好吃到無話可說!眼見很多客人也像我們奮力的把飯焦扒光,我們笑說這可省上餐廳洗碗碟的功夫呢.

吃完熱騰騰的煲仔飯,肚子也溫暖起來-看見沿桂香街排隊的人越來越多,坐得也很不舒服,是時候結帳了-來這裡吃飯要付出的不是巨額金錢,而是早早訂座和排隊的耐性.換來的,卻是無與論比的滿足,足以令人離開時已經盤算著,下次再來,應該是幾時?

不愧是被歐陽應霽喻為“西環首選”的煲仔飯館,顛覆了我以往對煲仔飯的認識。又是開了很多年的店,下午五六點鐘去就已經坐滿了當地人。阿姨很拽的告訴我,煲仔飯要等半個小時。。。。倒上生抽就可以吃了。米顆粒分明,滑雞也很嫩,最重要的是下麵的鍋巴,小小粒的米結在一起非常的香,雖然嚼得累了點但也忍不住一直吃。

題外話/補充資料: 他們家的小菜也真的好不錯。椒鹽蝦好入味,小小顆的蒜粒很香,就是分量很少。 沙爹牛肉很多家店都有,但他們家牛肉和菜心的嫩度都剛剛好。 鹹魚豆腐煲,和我想的不太一樣,不是老豆腐,而是有點像豆皮那種,不是特別入味。

坐好,想也沒想就跟伙記說:「先來個羊腩煲!」,索價HK$128,猶記得早幾年一般街坊店的羊腩煲才賣HK$78 – HK$98,真的不得不嘆句物價飛升。飛升還飛升,更有不少店為了控制成本,時有把劣質貨摻雜共用,濫竽充數,實在可惜。羊腩煲送上來,置於瓦斯爐上再一次煮沸。這十分鐘應該是最痛苦的時間,終於看到白煙冉冉升起,可以一解對羊腩煲的相思之苦。

廣東式雙冬羊腩煲用上「冬筍」、「冬菇」、腐竹、荸薺和黑草羊肉,配上柱候醬等醬料燜煮數小時,上桌時再置於瓦斯爐上邊煮邊吃,適時加入新鮮蔬菜,以火鍋形式盡吸羊腩煲精華。冬夜裏,跟朋友圍爐共吃羊腩,比任何山珍海錯更滋味,更暖心。坤記的羊腩煲可說是示範作,羊腩燜煮火喉十足,肉質鬆化味美。入口肉香四溢之餘,醬汁味道也悉數回歸到口腔。黑草羊貴於那層嫰滑帶爽的皮,還有讓人全身泛起微羶的皮下脂肪,這裏賣的,絕不會濫竽充數。作為配角的材料,每款也盡吸羊腩煲的精華,最後,吃到只剩下一窩汁,還有點想帶回家配麵或蔬菜之用。

來坤記又怎能不吃煲仔飯,來個「窩蛋牛肉飯」和「北菇滑雞飯」,兩者皆是傳統風味。坤記就是如此,任你潮流怎多新花款,任你麻辣還是XO醬,依然故我的只賣傳統味,也是對平凡中見巧手的信心。先來窩蛋牛肉飯,開蓋,只見那顆晶瑩剔透的半熟蛋,一手戳穿,蛋汁流瀉到白飯和牛肉餅之上,泛起一陣金黃。下醬油,隨手拌好。牛肉餅一吃便知是手切貨色,絕不是絞肉機出品能媲美,彈牙中微微滲出肉汁,滋味無比。米飯火喉控制得宜,不過濕不過硬,鍋邊的「飯焦」薄脆可口,隱隱傳來炭火香,絕對是吃過最精彩的「飯焦。」

再說滑雞飯,店裏有幾道以雞入饌的名菜,像「霸王雞」、「菜膽雞」,通通索價二百開外,一樣備受追捧,想必是用上新鮮雞炮製。不知這個滑雞飯是不是也用上新鮮雞,但其嫰滑和肉香,實是討喜。再加上雞肉不住滲出紹酒香,這個滑雞飯比牛肉飯,味道更覺雋永。

一鍋兩飯後,還有點不夠盡興,就再來一個豬骨煲吧。豬骨煲比羊腩煲還要貴,但把大量豬桶骨、鳳爪、蘿蔔和粟米共冶一爐,成就出一口甘之如飴的豬骨湯,貴一點都值得。送上來,先慢火細煮,這時湯還沒夠濃郁,只吃點鳳爪或粟米等配菜吧。等湯汁剩下一半,是時候喝口湯。湯汁甘甜,帶濃烈豬骨香;若說豚王或一風堂是日式豬骨湯的佼佼者,我認為坤記這口湯也不會失禮。這時更可以抓一兩根大骨頭上來,啃咬筋腱,甚或肆意的吸啜骨髓。我最愛還是等湯汁再收乾一點,喝到滿嘴黏黏之時,舀半碗湯,挖一點煲仔飯剩下來的鍋巴,自製一碗豬骨鍋巴湯。豬骨湯的甜,鍋巴的脆,還有米粒中的炭火香,三者渾然天成,那種美味,不用多說吧。

總計:HK$352

四人吃了兩鍋兩飯,剛好七點半,店員已來催促快點交還座位。訂坐時當然沒有說要悉時交桌,但看到門外的人潮,還要多言嗎?

步出店,微風吹來,吃過羊腩煲和豬骨煲,遍體生暖。拍拍衣服,泛起一絲炭火香,這香氣像女生的香水般,教你每年總會乖乖回來「朝聖」。

同內地朋友食飯,佢話好耐無飲湯~就帶佢黎呢間中菜館叫個湯~一早知道呢度好多人,點知真係咁爆~好多人一早已經book左枱~我地仲walk in~梗係要等~結果我地苦苦追問之下,終於都有兩個位~我地就叫左個東江豆腐煲~咁就有個湯~仲叫左好出名的煲仔飯~白鱔田雞飯~東江豆腐煲ok~幾多料,湯都幾甜~好似無味精~白鱔田雞飯正~飯的軟硬剛剛好~之前食過其他餐廳,一d好硬,一d又多水得滯,未收哂水,搞到d飯好爛~最正的係飯焦~平日我都唔特別好飯焦~但嗰日都食唔停~d飯焦真係可以成塊起出來,唔會好「痴底」~平日有d真係同個煲永不分離~下次都要帶人黎試下其他煲仔飯~p.s 呢度真係最好早d黎同book定,唔係等到你傻,佢地真係好旺好忙~唔只等位,等上菜都好耐~d阿姐都唔得閒應酬你

好多人一早已經book左枱~我地仲walk in~梗係要等~
結果我地苦苦追問之下,終於都有兩個位~
我地就叫左個東江豆腐煲~咁就有個湯~
仲叫左好出名的煲仔飯~白鱔田雞飯~
東江豆腐煲ok~幾多料,湯都幾甜~好似無味精~
白鱔田雞飯正~飯的軟硬剛剛好~之前食過其他餐廳,一d好硬,一d又多水得滯,未收哂水,搞到d飯好爛~
最正的係飯焦~平日我都唔特別好飯焦~但嗰日都食唔停~d飯焦真係可以成塊起出來,唔會好「痴底」~平日有d真係同個煲永不分離~
下次都要帶人黎試下其他煲仔飯~

p.s 呢度真係最好早d黎同book定,唔係等到你傻,佢地真係好旺好忙~
唔只等位,等上菜都好耐~d阿姐都唔得閒應酬你

聽個老友話未食過煲仔飯, 咁就同佢黎試下!是晚兩個人未夠六點來到這邊, 就只要兩客煲仔飯. 多客太多, 等了差不多三十分鐘都未有得食便催催店員, 店員話整緊就快到我地, 跟住我話人地遲來的都吃完了, 我地果兩個咁耐...佢先至即時比我地!我叫的白鱔滑雞煲仔飯, 新鮮熱辣上檯, 白鱔太肥, 有點腥味, 加上豉汁好重同埋豉油落得不夠, 滑雞比較好一點,算嫩滑. , 飯粒太硬, 應該是不夠水份吧.朋友的?腸排骨煲仔飯, ?腸只是普通貨色,吃不出味道,排骨不夠爽,飯又是乾身的,飯焦黐實煲底總括來說, 繁忙時間食物有點強差人意,兼服務有待改善!

Since the weather is changing and its significantly becoming warmer, we decided to place a bet for that the place would be less crowded. We even booked a table in advance.

The place was 80% full as we arrived at around 8. Quickly orders were placed and i started insepcting the interior of the shop: it was genuinely local and even the tables were irregular, the chairs were mismatching each other, and the four walls of the shop was full of posters carrying names of dishes they offer, making customers to literally 'look around' while ordering for food. The staff were mostly middle-aged and were chatting with each other, too, in quite a loud voice.

Soon the order of 貴妃雞 arrived. Shining with the grease on the skin, the chicken meat was tender and juicy - dad said its because of the usage of fresh chickens. Perhaps this was really the case as the chicken was significantly better than the tasteless, rubbery sh*t you get at many chinese restaurants!

生菜鯪魚肉豆腐煲 (fish paste in lettuce and tofu soup). The soup was in a pleasant milky colour and smelt good of fish and pepper. There were quite a lot of fish paste balls in and it was quite aromatic, despite more dried mandarin skin could be added to further intensify the smell of it. The lettuce was not over-cooked, i really love the taste of the soup but the tofu was really bland in taste. The soup tasted more like broth cooked with fish paste, with tofu later added. I just cant feel the ingredients have been put into the same pot until the moment of final reheating.

窩蛋牛肉片煲仔飯 - the two pots came simultaneously - and first we chose to finish the beef with a raw egg on top. After some quick stirs the egg was quickly cooked by the heat retained in the pot but the taste was covered by the soya sauce which came with the pots. It was not just salty but somehow sweet, and was perfect to add into the rice with! The beef on the other hand was just so-so, not very strong in taste and was weirdlly too soft in textrure- the consequence of using meat tenderizer?

北菇雞飯 - next we stratched out arms to the chicken,mushroom in pot. The mushroom was a huge disappointment as it was basically tasteless but chewy, and did nothing to the dishes but to add a texture of rubberiness to the rice and stuff. The chicken was great - it seems that the kitchen here has got the straight way to handle the poultry!

One thing that you cant miss is the 飯焦(burnt rice) on the bottom of the pots. They could be esaily stratched off with a spoon an just with some light efforts, toy could get a whole back of crispies which textured like potato chips. The irregular sprnikes of soya sauce has added a savoury taste to the crispies, making them even moe delicious to have. At this point i just cannot understand why people are gooing to places like wing hap sing which serves baked rice with no burnt rice in the bottom at all. The crispy rice is the essence of the dish and i enjoyed hearing the happy pops in my mouth as i bit onto the pieces of krispies.

避風塘炒蝦-the fish was extremely aromatic when freshly served from the kitchen and it immediately attracted the customers on the adjascent table to enquire the waiter what dish it was! the huge prawns were entirely covered with nicely tossed salt, ginger and spring onion and even the shells of the prawns were so crispy and light that they were edible! The shrimp was not particularly tasty but was definitely fleshy, and had absorbed the taste of the salt and onion well. Love the crispy salt too - i actually mixed it with the rice and ate them together!

the place got crowded soon after my arrival as customers went in and out constantly throughout the course of my meal. The shop was certainly one of the busiest in the district and thus do not expect much service and smiles from the waiters. The use of a charcoal grill had given the pots their distinctive aroma but it is also the source of the heavy smell which taints your clothes and hair and stuff, so dont go in your most expensive and smell-taking clothes.
The place was economical to eat at - our dinner costed only $301 and was very cheap considering the dishes we ordered. But given the popularity among both local and trans-district customers, it would definitely be safer to secure a table by making a prior reservation-but as i have said, be prepared for a not-so-polite, if not rude, response from the other end of the phone.

今日六點鐘就到咗, 室內部分竟然已經full 咗, 只好係門口加枱, 坐街邊食都有令一種風味。荔芋滑雞煲 ~ 芋頭變得非常鬆軟...雞肉也不會煮老!!臘味牛肉煲仔飯 ~ 有牛肉片..臘腸..青菜..叉燒, 叉燒燒到有點焦, 臘味很香, 但是不鹹, 底下的飯都變成蕉, 我最愛既!!京都焗肉排 ~ 有帶骨的部份比較軟嫩些, 但是大部份地方肉質卻偏硬, 失望的一道!!避風塘炒蝦 ~ 可以選大辣..中辣..小辣, 一上桌. 香味撲鼻, 蝦子每隻都超大隻彈牙!!

二月十四日 (星期一)坤記煲仔飯街知巷聞,一直都有意思想試是晚情人節,不會盲目光顧那些完全不值的情人節套餐返而來這裡一探,原來比平時更少人,不用等位便有枱了雖是搭枱,但五個人坐一張六人桌,我們佔了其中的一半,算是賺了毫不猶豫,我們點了窩蛋肉片煲仔飯看到同桌的食客那道薑蔥爆生蠔極吸引,又點了最後貪健康的,加一碟蒜蓉白菜仔最先來的當然是炒菜吃得出的新鮮,白菜仔很爽口,有點甘甜,新鮮是吃得出的加了蒜蓉更覺香口,為以下的餸菜做好了熱身放棄了牛肉,一試肉片,亦沒有令人失望煲仔飯等了約十五分鐘送到,從遠處已傳來了飯香熱哄哄的飯粒晶瑩剔透,極富咬口肉片亦新鮮嫩滑,加入豉油,與永合成可謂煲仔飯界的翹楚薑蔥爆生蠔亦沒有令我們失望大大隻的生蠔,經過蔥爆後仍能保持肉汁滿溢還有足粒的十大隻,絕對物超所值只要食得開心,日日都是情人節!!!

白膳 - Simon唔食白膳話見到都引人入性。口感夠滑,唔會太咸 !
田雞 - 夠熱無乜田雞味.
伴菜 - Lamy無留俾我, 淨係關照左一條菜莖俾Sosir,無評語!
窩蛋牛 - 賣相好好,由於Simon坐係隔離, 臭到好香熱力四射, 下次我會叫呢煲再叫兩味菜送啤酒,如果大風最好坐裡面,同埋可以的話食頭圍希望唔使咁多人.
生抽 - 稍甜, 可能老左味覺退化有關,甜少少ok ~
衛生 - 街邊坐的話間中會有車行駛,都好過某深水步街邊,呢度唔算太污穢
環境 - 不要求高的情況下,可以的.
服務 - 幾個阿姐處事成熟談吐有禮不慌不忙, 應該好過好多港女 ^_^
抵食 - 大家睇下報紙, 大家獲/大寧樂/大唔快活, 又靜雞雞加價, 四十幾皮食到雖然比出面係細煲左少少的慢功出細貨,夫復何求 !!
p.s. 其實老板佢地知道咁多人等,但仍然堅持即叫即整,呢種原則的堅持已經值回票價,更加唔可以用錢來衡量!!
