We booked this restaurant on the internet, which is one of the pluses of dining there - it's convenient! The system is very efficient. We booked in the middle of the night and we got an acknowledgement email from the hotel. No hassles.
It was a dim sum lunch. The food was good. Service was good. The view out of the window was nice. Used dishes and bowls were removed promptly and replaced with clean ones. Wouldn't say that the food was cheap but it was worth the value. We had no complaint about paying the price they charged. Still, we found it to be about 15% cheaper than one other hotel we sometimes patronised.
We had the first three items off the dim sum menu - can't reproduce the names of the items here as I can't write in Chinese but those seem to be the most expensive items - charged on per head basis and about $78 each. One had a whole abalone on top of it. Another is some kind of dumpling in soup. We also had their long boil soup of the day. It was very good. We had a 9-year-old kid who's among the top picky eaters of the world and he loved it and had two bowls!
We also had some other cheaper items like spinach dumpling and scallop dumpling. The shrimps, scallops etc used in the dim sum were fresh.
One thing about the restaurant is the tableware. It's like a bit worn - my super-picky child complained about his spoon being dirty. Actually, it's not dirty. It's just a bit worn at the edge so there is a tiny greyish line there. With the price they are charging, they could consider using porcelain ware of better quality. But then, should I fuss over it? I've noted the same thing in some other hotels in town here.
It was a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was not full. I was a bit surprised at that. May be because of the location. The hotel itself is tucked away in an inconspicuous corner and in an area which is far from posh.
Will definitely go back there often.
