HORRIBLE food and terrible after-sales experience!
We ordered 2 dinners takeaway - one order was noodles and the other order included scrambled egg.
I remember the cook kept peeking thru the small window (from the kitchen) into the cafe to see who was ordering this meal. He noticed I was an
expat.
We ordered our food takeaway, so we didn't realize how bad it was until we got home.
The first order contained way TOO MUCH SALT.
The second order - the noodles - were UNCOOKED. They were dry noodles, with a rubbery texture.
Both meals were completely INEDIBLE.
Now it get's interesting. I rang up the store immediately to complain, and they said for me to bring the food back, which I did the next day.
The next day I brought the food into the cafe and asked for my refund HK$110. They refused. They said only an exchange. Why on earth would anyone trust this restaurant with another order of food???!!! Who knows what they will put into the food this time.
I then called the main office; Buddies Cafe happens to be owned by Fairwood - the famous restaurant chain with shops all across HK. They too also refused a refund. I offered to compromise and requested a credit at Fairwood instead. They refused. They only said for me to get a credit at another Buddies Cafe (different location). Again, why would anyone trust this restaurant chain anymore?
What a waste of time and money, with very poor customer service and food.
