We got there at around 5pm, and they are still in prepartion so we decided to grab a quick drink and go back in half and hour. By the time we went back (they open at 5:30pm) the restaurant was almost full, luckily we got two seats. The staff greeted us and told us more about the soup base and their specials of the day. The staff greeted us and told us more about the soup base and their specials of the day. We decided to go with the classic pork bone soup base and the garlic squid ink one, with eggs. Ramen arrived in 5 mins, to my excitment I accidentially poured half of the sesame seeds while grinding it. While my husband and I were trying to spoon out the sesame seeds, the staff kindly asked if i would like to have it replaced with a new one. Without hesitation I said yes, very nice of them as they really didn't have to, within minutes my noodles arrived, this time I carefully added the sesame, spice, and clove of garlic.
The pork soup base was rich and delicious, not overly greasy with plenty of spring onion and mushroom on top. There were two generous slices of cha siu, they were big, juicy and succulent (especially compare to the thin ones @ ICHIRAN) the ramen were perfectly al dente, not the mention the egg was perfectly cooked, runny on the inside.
The squid ink one was also nice but the soup base was too heavy for my taste, but my husband enjoyed it.
The place is pretty small, but the staff were very efficient and friendly. Service was quick and attentive, a lot more personalised than the bigger chain ones which works well in this kinda area (more locals go there) They asked every customer to make sure the food was okay before they leave, which I think is very important. Since our ramen is being personalised (as we like) personalised service is equally important, I'm not a fan of eatting ramen facing a blank wall not knowing my server and chef.
All in all food was amazing and I would definitely go back!
