Pizza is small, thin and expensive. The lady at cashier was not smiling and seemed to not like her job. Also she did not ask me until after I paid if I want a takeaway box which cost extra money. I’ve noticed this restaurant while going to the China visa centre a few times. Came here alone before picking up my new Chinese visa from the visa centre nearby. What a mistake! When I arrived, the restaurant was empty and for good reason. I got the three courses lunch including coffee. The server, who looks like an inexperienced young local server, brought my coffee and spilt the coffee a bit that it leaked on to the plate it was sitting on. The coffee was poor quality. The guanciale pasta was bad. The guanciale was one of the fattiest I’ve seen. It looked like 90% fat and no meat. They should get it from a normal source and pan fry the guanciale longer to reduce the fat. It was a bit fusion style with peanut shavings on the pasta which was a bit weird. Lastly the tiramisu which needed additional charge was below average. There was no coffee/ alcoholic taste and just tasted like cheap cream with bits of savoiardi biscuit that were not soaked long enough and crunchy (not right).Only thing that was OK was the celeriac soup.…查看更多

Didn’t get what I wanted. I don’t eat pork so wanted D2 which is beef Japchae with rice. I ticked DN2 which is actually dinner menu spicy noodle. He changed it to N2 for me which is the same but at lunch. I wanted D2 but it is not on the order sheet with a typo at B2. Busy on a weekday lunch, I don’t get the hype. The pizza dough is very below average. The only good gimmick is you can get different flavours, but at the same price surely there is better and bigger portion of pizza elsewhere. This is not Italian style at all not sure how it’s survived over the years in Rome. There’s better pizza in happy valley and central. The special pistachio pizza had poor tasting ham and I also tried the truffle which didn’t have any truffle taste and cheese is also poor quality. See the photos yourself. Had the steak set and drink. My expectation here is I know the food would be average, but I wanted to come to try their dessert or drink. The pistachio latte is great. However the main steak set is very average for the price. Beef is nothing special and no seasoning, just slow cooked.While eating, suddenly there is noisy renovation noise from upstairs. Not the cafe’s fault, but I’m not sure how long the renovation will last and I for sure wouldn’t come when it’s so noisy. The server does not smile. She misheard me saying table for 1 as for 2 and cannot hear me when standing right in front of me as I said I want the bill. Came to Daap for lunch with my mom. We both got the same soup and dessert, but different mains. The soup was tasty and velvety smooth, with nice presentation. They don’t use a spoon to scoop out the soup, they use a professional cone. However, it could have been served a little warmer. Our mains were good too, we liked watching the chef toss the carbonara with the sauce on the pan in a very professional way! As portions are quite small, we felt hungry after the main but after having the dessert (pineapple bun with peanut sauce) we felt okay. Overall, a nice experience. Still needing to book 2-3 month to eat at Jean May, I wanted to see what the fuss was about although photos of the food looked off to me. Often you can tell if a chef is good by the plating, not for pretentious photos but it shows how detailed the chef is as a person. I ordered the duck and strawberry pavlova. The duck was too salty and nothing special - not sure what people rave about. Costing $3xx, I truly enjoy eating Peking duck more than the duck here. I thought the dessert could redeem the restaurant’s reputation but it was also a let down. Average at best. The pavlova was more like a meringue rather than proper pavlova. Delicious pancakes and like the variety of drinks! The tofu pudding coffee and fruit pancake were good and can come as a set. The tofu was silky and smooth and matched the coffee. Pancake was fluffy and great, although I still prefer Flipper’s pancakes. They have many other flavours and french toast too.Pet friendly at the outside tables and easy to get a table. For the price, this Teppanyaki joint is pretty good. Started with the tomato appetiser which was nothing to rave about. Then I got the beef garlic scallion roll, which was a little salty and beef quality was acceptable for the price. Would have preferred if they used large garlic chips inside than diced. Lastly, got the beef okonomiyaki which was decent (I don’t like Mayo so told them to not put on)! I originally wanted the A5 Wagyu beef fried rice, but they said they don’t have A5 Wagyu at the moment (maybe due to covid shopping costs?) and can replace with more of a cheaper beef cut, so I did not try. …查看更多

Recommended by a friend and since I bookmarked this place for a while, I decided to give it a try as they opened a more convenient branch at Jordan. Wow the udon is one of the best in HK!!! Got the yuzu udon but I think better get the original or seaweed as it’s just yuzu sauce and a bit too sweet. Get a chilled udon so you can taste the noodle texture well. …查看更多

Most of the restaurants in this building are not tasty and close down quickly. Seeing photos online of this new cafe, I decided to give it a try.Loved the pasta here! I like how all their set drinks are special, the strawberry shake could be better but I won’t complain for this price. I love Italian and the food quality here is high so I’ve been to Pazta many times. I’m not usually picky about service but the service here is just poor - servers unhappy and not polite! So delicious! Better than the Poke bowl restaurant in causeway bay and central.They have made choice for side dish (want to try their fried chicken next time) and homemade juices. I remembered the first few years Mortys opened in HK, their onion soup was good - gooey slightly burnt gruyere/ emmental cheese on top of a decent onion soup (burnt in a good way). It has gotten worse! I had ordered it a year ago and the gruyere or emmental cheese which is the standard and pairs with onion soup the best. The cheese we barely baked at all. I thought it was a one off situation.I decided to give it a try again today and asked them to bake longer to burn the cheese. To my disappointment the cheese is cheddar now! And so thin.
