Afternoon tea set was tried today comprising Hong Kong style hot coffee and a bowl of soup noodles with fried egg and sausage. Hot coffee was good but was bitterly disappointed with the service and soup noodles, especially with the price paid. Around the world pizza was delivered hot and tasty, enough sauce, cheese and fillings. Pizza base was soft and tasty too. Sadly, the pastas tried (seafood fettuccine, duck breast spaghetti) were dry and almost tasteless; there was clearly too much pasta and hardly any sauce. Ordered a bowl of noodles (meng fun) with fish, chicken and veggies. Everything was hot, freshly made and delicious - the veggies, the fish which came in large slices (but watch the bones) and the chicken pieces were meaty and tasty! Best part of the meal was the pork bone broth which was plentiful, flavoursome and MSG free! First time to try this cafe and was totally satisfied. Food and service were both good. Dishes tried tonight...Scrambled egg with truffle, toast and side salad ~expensive as scrambled egg was mediocre. It would've tasted better if it had been creamier. Sadly, the truffle pieces inside could hardly be tasted. Tried a set meal tonight and was very satisfied. Braised curry beef was fresh, fragrant, not too spicy, steaming hot and came with decent amount of tender beef, tendons, veggies and sauce. The set meal came with a large steaming bowl of rice and two drinks. Came here for the first time and tried a set meal for one. There was rice, soup and stir fried eggplant with minced meat in small pot. It arrived steaming hot and freshly cooked, and the eggplant dish was cooked thoroughly and flavorsome. The soup noodles tried this afternoon was not bad. Broth was clear and not too salty, a good portion of soup, mixed veggies and fish tofu. There was no aftertaste of MSG. Unfortunately, condiments like pepper and chili oil were nowhere to be seen on the tables so I had to ask for them. The food arrived quickly but the waitress who served me could have been more hospitable. Unfortunately, her impatience whilst taking down my order was disheartening. The dishes tried tonight...Morning glory- a rather small portion but probably the only recommended dish as it was neither too salty nor too oilyGarlic bread - crunchy, lightly salted with garlic paste but nothing special about the taste.Curried crab-plenty of sauce and enough flesh on the crab but sauce was much too saltyPresentation of the food was ordinary - sauce splattered onto the edges of plates when delivered to our table. Plates used for the food were also chipped and tired looking.Service could also have been better. Glasses of cold water were given at the start but tasted weird. When hot water was asked, waitress looked and sounded reluctant to get it for us. We also had to ask several times for it. Chinese tea was nevertheless accepted but this took longer than expected to be delivered.
