My office is nearby and I thought I had exhausted all options that tend to be at the lower end of the scale in the area. Lorway has a « central » vibe to it. Enjoyed a very nice piccolo latte and and all day breakfast that was really good. In the area for a site visit and stumbled onto this little cafe. Nice interior, very clean, managed by two young ladies who are both keen to do it right. Tried the Salmon Surdough, comes with green salad and a bit of camembert type cheese, fresh overall and as good as it can be. Nice double espresso to finish off. My third visit and again perfect. Good range for vegetarians, friendly and professional, detailed but unpretentious, very reasonable prices for quality ingredients with a strong focus on home style Japanese cooking. Vegetarian curry was light and tasty, feeling natural and just right. The cake we shared was a caramelised apple scone that tasted wonderful. There is an excellent bookshop in the same unit and the selection of art books both for kids and adults is of a very high standard but again at reasonable prices.Highly recommended. …查看更多

Nice interior design and polished branding - unfortunately cluttered with cardboard boxes for a delivery (I’m only guessing) of their roasted coffee - not sure if it’s open at this point as it feels more like a warehouse. Staff leads me to the cashier and I get to order a piccolo latte. Staff at the till is really grumpy - an other one is asleep behind the counter ... coffee comes - a good piccolo latte but not exceptional. Staff is really making zero effort to interact in a friendly way. Ambiance is also a bit of a problem: extremely loud commercial music similar to what you would hear at the gym - it completely ruins the experience. 3 of us on a Friday night and no booking - manager arranged a few things swiftly and we were good to go. Very nice looking dishes going past. As others mentioned portions are not huge but the emphasis is on quality. Prices are in line with most in the area. Grilled fish, Tempura rice and egg pork were all very nice. The Carpaccio of the day was also very good. Nice tofu dessert with beans. It was lively (and noisy) but overall an excellent experience and we will be back. Date night with my wife and we were looking forward to having a good time. Friday night. Ordered a vegetarian salad with feta, skinny fries and the roasted salmon. Happy hour the drinks are very cheap at only HK30. Prices overall are a bit higher than the competition. After 20 mins the fries arrived. 30 minutes - the salad. 40 Minutes - nothing - by then it was 9.15 PM ... we asked twice about the status and we were told they were just plating the dish ... and that alone took more than 10 Minutes - the roasted salmon finally arrived 50 (!) minutes after the ordered placed and the restaurant was not even busy ! We were somewhat expecting an apology or something but the staff did not seem to care ... anyway all other dishes were fine but the salmon was average with a very bland seasoning. This restaurant claims to be Parisian - nothing really is authentically French in there. Savoury and sweet filings come in the same type of « crêpe » that taste more like a very thin naan bread ... nothing like the real thing you can experience in other HK places such as La Crêperie or Fleur de Sel. I ordered a « vegetarien » and added an egg. Filling was ok but the crêpe was dry and tasteless. It seems that the crêpes are being heated up on the traditional hardware but not made on the spot. The after taste felt rather industrial to me. My partner who is not fond of crêpes had chicken strips with fries. Comparable to Triple O she said. Her chai Latte with optional almond milk was too sweet and my Sauvignon blanc was unremarkable. Air Con was blasting real hard and the overall ambience was dull but busy. Atmosphere: rather empty which fine, music a bit loud, nice interior but it would gain to feel a bit cleaner / tidier. Chaotic piles of old magazines (of the free type) are not adding anything. Table is woblly.Staff: smiley and friendly before going back to a rather "neutral" mode. Waitress was mainly stationed at the table (that should normally be occupied by a guest) to browse the net, to a point where it's difficult to get her attention when needed.Food Options: menu pages are falling apart and are a bit “grey”, printing a fresh one would be rather easy. The vegetarian burger is not available. Big finger prints on cutlery.What we ordered:- Signature Quinoa Salad: artichokes at the top are probably from a jar. The quinoa is fine, seasoning is just OK. 115HK$.- Fresh Pesto Mushroom Tortellini: after a few minutes wait we are being told that the fresh pesto is not available and that if we wish not to wait too long we can choose the “normal” option. Fine. It tastes ok but the pesto is coming from a jar.- Greca Pizza: the base is probably pre-made if not ready made. The tomato paste is tasteless and watery. The cheese has no taste. 136 HK$.At that point we were not really expecting too much from the desserts - but we were told there were none available anyway as they would be “made fresh for tomorrow”.Espresso to conclude. The fancy coffee machines on display at the bar were not used and a micro cup came from the kitchen instead. Taste was alright but it was more like a small americano. As we were waiting for the coffee (about 10 minutes) - the kitchen said that the “fresh" tiramisu was available and “made fresh for tomorrow”. Late lunch - got there at 1.45 PM - only one small table available so I had to squeeze in right next to the bar.Very nice decor and furniture. - but I was not feeling particularly comfortable though - too cramped, noisy, and the smell coming form the kitchen felt a bit fried and oily. I had to ask for the menu. Fairly small selection of dishes - some had their price crossed out so I had to assume that they were not available. After some hesitation I ordered a Cappucino (32HK$) and their ... "Balinese Chopped Salad" (Grilled Chicken, purple cabbage, runner beans, cherry tomatoes, lemongrass-lime Sambal dressing , avocados) at 115HK$. At this price my expectations were set fairly high .... Wait time was about 10 / 15 minutes, but what came to the table was a serious let down. Cubes of chicken on one side - a quarter of an avocado on the other, and a mixture of red cabbage in the middle. I could not see any cherry tomatoes. Taste: the cabbage had been soaked in the dressing for too long and did not feel crispy fresh anymore, even a bit sour old. The sauce was spicy and unremarkable. The chicken cubes were quite juicy and tasty but that's the only positive. This dish is way off the mark and I would not recommend it. The coffee was as good as any Nespresso machine can make it because that's what they use.The bill came to 147HK$ and I did not feel the urge to leave a tip - overall the staff did not seem to be bothered. The experience was excellent from start to finish. The dining room was getting busy but we found a table for both of us. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. A bit pushy for the drinks but they were very helpful making suggestions about the menu. The interior is nice, casual, modern, with character. The music may have been a little too loud. Apple crostata: 48HK$.Light and pleasant particularly the frozen yogurt on top. The fine slices of apple were very good too. Walked past at 9.15 PM - fairly long queue and gave up, but then made a detour to buy one more thing and the crowd had cleared, went in at 9.40 PM. Nice menu, very enthusiastic staff. Arrived there by accident with my wife - we both needed a treat.Got there after considering all the other restaurants at the Intercontinental, prices have gone up substantially since my last visit. A burger in the lobby costs HK$230 !?SPOON felt cosy and quiet and we got a nice table facing the harbour. Great start.Pleasant service. Got some water at 100HK$ a bottle, could not get any wine as I'm driving. Simple menu - MY wife picked the tournedos and I got the sea bass. We wanted to share the Fruit / Vegetable cookpot as a starter. Starter: really great, unexpected, healthy and tasty. and then it only went downhill ... We had to wait for ONE HOUR to get our mains served, obviously the kitchen missed the order and the waiter did not take any notice of it. The waiters were apologetic but still, this is rather unprofessional.Sea Bass "a la Pancetta": great name for what is in reality a pan fried fillet. The vegetable around it were soft and ordinary. It felt really like any average western restaurant, quite ok presentation - but the taste was very normal, no surprises, and overall far too salty. Tournedos: it looked much better than my dish and my wife enjoyed it.Dessert: we shared the cheesecake as it was presented as their signature dessert ..... !!!??? ... that was really so banal, both in appearance and taste. This was really pathetic. The bill came to just under 2000HK$ and honestly this was absolutely NOT worth it at all. That my first visit and the last. Second time there - my first visit when it had just opened was quite pleasant. Menu has changed and the range of options seemed to have been scaled down which is fine. I've ordered a Caesar with Salmon and Yak Cheese (with a TINY TINY amount of cheese - it did not feel right - the salmon fillets were OK, but nothing exceptional) and my partner got some pasta (was it pesto ? I can't recall - but the taste was OK - not great). The service was very fast (rushed?) - we shared their signature cheese cake. There are only two desserts to choose from and we assumed that it would be somewhat really good, well ... the semi-fredo Yak cheese cake is really underwhelming. Service: there was a couple next to us who seemed top be getting a lot of attention, we both felt that we were not welcome there. The service should be equal for everyone - or at least not obviously so different. Rushed dinner (30 mins) - at 300HK$ for two - felt overpriced and rather pretentious / arrogant.Won't return.…查看更多
