Decree by T is a rather new Japanese-French restaurant serving Omakase, managed by the chef of a French restaurant in a five-star hotel😯. We made a reservation around 1 month before visiting. Halfway Coffee | Antique Street | Sheung Wan Cafes | Hong Kong CafesThe branch I visited is located on Antique Street in Sheung Wan. I quite liked the vintage vibe of the cafe, it features some old furniture and antiques🕰️. There are outdoor seats but they were occupied when I got there😂.I ordered Scrambled Egg, Parma Ham on Sourdough (HK$88), Avocado, Smoked Salmon, Onsen Egg on Sourdough (HK$118), and hot mocha (HK$45). I ate a Wagyu burger with grilled sweet fries 🍟 (HKD189) and fish and chips 🍠 (HKD179). We requested a medium burger, it was a bit overcooked but still juicy and meaty. EverShine is a small cafe selling healthy light meals like pasta, smoothie bowls, snacks, coffee, and tea✨. The calories of each dish are stated clearly on the menu so it’s perfect for people who are having a diet😉.I ordered the Red Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl (HK$74), Spirulina Smoothie Bowl (HK$78), Honey Mustard Chicken Wings (HKD38), Blueberry Yoghurt Cheese Cake (HK$58), and Mocha (HK$44). The smoothie bowls were filled with different fruits and they looked and tasted amazing😋. They tasted pretty good! The chicken wings were not bad too. The cheesecake, however, was too small🤏🏻. Roganic is the brainchild of British chef Simon Rogan. With its farm-to-table concept, micro-herbs are grown in-house and sustainable ingredients are sourced from local organic farms🌿. Although Roganic has got one Michelin star, it is not at all expensive to dine there! Perfect for people who have a budget😉. There was nothing special with the interior. I liked that it is spacious and open. You are suggested to request a booth seat when booking. It seems the most comfortable. If you wanna check out how they prepare ingredients for your meal, you can request to dine at the bar area👀.I went there for their Lunch Tasting Menu (HK$$380). I spent an extra HK$200 for sea urchin custard with caviar and HK$180 for their 3 Glasses Non-Alcoholic Pairing. The starters (P1) tasted delicious and they looked like mini gardens😍. However, the portion of the supplementary sea urchin custard with caviar was so small that it can’t justify the price (P2)😕. It was also too salty. The soup (P3) tasted really good👍🏻 but I didn’t think it matched with the soda bread (P4) (it was quite sweet). I don’t suggest eating them together. I chose a 14-day aged duck with red cabbage, beetroot, and preserved blackcurrant (P5) as my main course. The duck itself tasted quite good, but I didn’t see how its flavour matched with the sides. The dessert tasted only okay (P6). As for the Non-Alcoholic Pairing (P7), it was completely 🤢disgusting for me (❗IT’S MY FAULT I DIDN’T READ THE DRINK MENU CAREFULLY❗). The first drink, green tea tasted like those available in convenience stores. The second drink was a tea blend (lapsang souchong, hibiscus, Pu'er, beetroot, lingonberry & verjus) (it tased bad for me cause I dislike beetroot, it’s not their fault‼️). I also tried my friend’s second drink (Celery, green apple & horseradish), it was worse as it tasted like pickle water🥴. The third one, pear juice was okay. All in all, this menu is acceptable considering its price but I’ll not have the supplementary sea urchin custard with caviar or the Non-Alcoholic Pairing if I’ll ever visit again🙅🏻. However, if you are a VEGGIE LOVER, you’ll LOVE the Non-Alcoholic Pairing. I really enjoyed brunching there while looking at busy street through the big window😍. The cafe provides a wide variety of food and coffee. We ordered Katsu Sando (HK158), Crab Cake Croquettes (HK$88), and Iced Cafe Mocha (HK$68). The Katsu Sando tasted quite good but it wasn’t surprising. I would love it more if it was juicier😌. Their special opening menu was full of surprises. Combining Asian and French cuisines and cultures, soybean was used in a surprising amount of ways and comes in a variety of different forms, shapes, textures, and flavours🤯. The meal consists of 5 parts: 絹 SILKEN, 脆 CRISP, 玉 JADE, 露 DEW and 雪花 ICE. Except for the first dish, I enjoyed every part of the lunch. The dishes showed how versatile soybean is and the presentations were nice too. Actually, the first dish, Homemade Soft Tofu was really flavourful and its combination with Ossetra Caviar was quite innovative. However, I found it a bit odd strange to pair them with other toppings that we usually pair with congee🤔. My favourite dishes were Shima-Aji Tartare with 'Thousand' Tofu Sheet and Salad of Pickled Wood-Ear with Seasonal Mushroomsdish. The tofu sheet was finely made and full of tofu flavour👍🏻.
