Worst restaurant ever
港
2020-03-23
Worst restaurant EVER. Menu is limited and they don’t even have most of the things available on the menu so me and my friends had to discuss quite awhile of what to order or should we just get snacks then get a full meal elsewhere (we’ve already ordered 3 beers and a bottle of red) then the restaurant owner came in the middle of our conversation and shouted “what’s the problem here” - like seriously? You are the problem! The food was also just average. If you want to pay $188 for cheungfun with some cream on top, this is the perfect place. 11/10 would NEVER recommend. …查看更多

Came here on a Wednesday night with my colleagues. The restaurant was easy to find in Jordan, just 5 mins walk from the MTR.The ambiance was very much family-like, which makes the dinner with my colleagues even more cozy and heart-warming. Once the staff greeted us, they handed to us a pile of menu with so so much choices to choose from. Even i felt overwhelmed! But luckily they had set dinner for one and 2, so that made our life much easier. we went on with a 3-single sets dinner and one set for 2. Each set would include a drink, salad, soup, starter, followed by a main and dessert after for just a price range of $80-$200. Amazing deal isn’t it?! With a table of 5 we decided to get a dinner set for 2 (most likely created for the couples) and 3 single dinner set which the following as mains: Angus sirloin steak, rosemary lamb rack, Spanish iberico pork rack, mushroom risotto with crab meat and a carbonara. The restaurant first served us the soup which came in two choices for that day: mushroom or lobster, both were cream soup. A dish of sauté clams and Caesar salad came after. The restaurant were very efficient in serving the food and as soon as the whole table finish eating something, they would immediately clean up. My friends and I also ordered wine and beer since they were very cheap, comparatively similar to that of happy hour! A glass of Sauvignon for $54 and a full pint of Hoegaarden for the same price! As someone who goes out a lot to drink, I really appreciate the fact that they did not add any water to my wine~Food was freshly cooked and served. I liked the risotto and carbonara the most since they were very rich in terms of the crab meat and the cheese they had inside! We finished the meal with the dessert: chocolate moose and a mixed berries pancake (loveeeed the generous amount of cream they had on it!). All in all, great place to gossip or catching up with friends, will definitely be back! …查看更多

Skewers cooked to perfection
黑木
2018-10-05
Are you craving some good ass skewers without having travel all the way to Japan? Come to Mokutan, just right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui! You can easily find this place appealingly standing out at Kimberly Street that is stacked with Korean restaurants. Clean, private and sophisticated is exactly the feel of the outter interior. As soon as you step in, the whole diner welcome you in Japanese - it is indeed a very private eaterie with a dinning bar and a couple of tables but over 10 staff on the floor to serve you. And since the place is relatively new, they were just serving my friend and I. I particularly liked their sake fridge as well; it’s got all of the sake specialist if you request! Now comes the menu. They mainly serve skewers and fresh seafood - the staff told me you could make a booking and order in advance to have the food freshly import just right before you come over. Since they had a lot of options on the menu, my friends and I decided to go with the Omakase, which the chef would decide what we have for the night. For the price of HK$688 per person, 20 dishes were served to us. Isn’t this an amazing deal?! All of the skewers were cooked just right with special ingredients the chef perfected from his ancestors. The seafood were carefully picked, rinsed and boiled at the right temperature; enough to not detach the clams from its shells, and just right for you to devour them with no hassle. This place further impressed me with their service: clear introduction of the food and they wait for the all guests on the same table to finish the one dish before serving another one, not just dump to your little table with all the food at once. Highly recommend for family, or if you’re catching up with a friend or meeting your clients to close a business deal, promise you won’t regret coming here!…查看更多

Fresh sushi bar
真鮨
2018-09-06
My Korean friend just got back from Korea, still overdosing from too much Korean pork belly BBQ so I thought bringing him to a Japanese sushi bar in Hong Kong would be a good idea. So we went to Moshi Moshi on Kimberly Road for a treat.Personal and well-decorated in contemporary style is exactly what you would see as soon as you step in the restaurant. The place was full on a Wednesday so it is best that you make a booking in advance (just imagine how full it would be during the weekend!) We ordered a double sashimi platter, a couple of freshly prepped sushi followed by miso clam soup and crab meat rolled in meticulously thin layers of egg. The sashimi was extraordinarily fresh, thick and juicy till the last bite. I am not quite sure what they had in the clam soup but the ingredients definitely brought out the flavourful fresh clams (you should order sake, it would be perfectly blend with the soup!). The egg roll was alright, a complimentary to finish off a great meal. We wanted to order some uni but it was ran out I guess you should also ask about the uni as you make the advance booking. I mean who does not order uni at a personal sushi bar?! Would definitely be coming back for the uni next time!…查看更多

Taiwan Tongue
九份•十分 (T Town )
2018-08-29
Recently Taiwan food is all around the corner in Hong Kong. Bubble gum tea, black sugar tea, u name it. Tired walking a whole day with my friend, we were excited to spot a Taiwan restaurant. The shop is not very spacious, but luckily we didn’t wait for long. The menu offers what u have expected. Its style is like teawood, but overall i think it does a better job. I am so into alcohol so i chose many dishes soaked in chinese wine like the duck’s tongue, egg. Sounds weird right? But they are a perfect match which define a new era of food. The duck’s tongue is soft, with heavy taste of wine which brings to a level of sublimation, staying in tongue for seconds. I was falling in love with the fried chicken. They have several powder for you to spread on the freshly fried chicken. I liked the seaweed powder, i know its heavy but i am willing to gain some weight finishing this masterpiece. The drinks are impressive, i ordered a hot chocolate soaked with iced milk bar, they match perfectly, giving u a sweet ending of the day. If u wanna try sth taiwanese, dun miss it and u wont get disappointed.…查看更多

Authentic Taiwanese taste
古早味台灣原味
2018-08-20
An European friend just came over HK to visit so I decided to bring him to try one of the real good Taiwanese restaurants (other than HK dim sum of course). This restaurant has 2 branches I believe and the one we went to is located in Causeway Bay!Since we had quite a few street snacks already, we just ordered some small dishes to try out. First and foremost, something you cannot miss when you get into a Taiwanese restaurant — the beef brisket noodle! The noodle was soft and chewy, I guess they handmade it that is why it had such a fresh texture. The beef were cooked throughout the night so the texture was extremely soft and it was well marinated too! Also got some fried chicken nuggets (famous Taiwanese snacks), a pork belly bun, green tea boba and last but never the least, the taro dessert with a mixed of beans for the hot days! All of the food tasted amazing! I could not find a minor thing to even complain. Not to mention the top service: elegantly and gently asking what you would like to order and if you want to have your dessert now or after finishing all the food (cuz we ordered the dessert with the main course and snacks as well)! The best is that this meal only costed $200 for 2, given that we ordered so much food!10* for this place. Will definitely be back cuz they have so much options to choose on the menu!!! …查看更多

Who doesn’t go crazy for coco?!
Supabowl
2018-08-20
Recently got into the healthy lifestyle and supabowl was one of the recommended places for health-enthusiast. People would usually get it for snacks or as a nutritious breakfast to start the day. You can either customised your order or simple choose one of the four major Super Bowls they have on the menu. Sizes are available to fit with your needs and diet. I chose an acai bowl with real coconut as the bowl (around HK$80). It honestly tasted real good but the coconut meat was quite hard to dig out. You have to wait for the coconut to melt since they put it in the freezer to preserve the coconut. Tips to cut the meat easily: wait for the ice to melt, walk to a nearby restaurant or 7-11, get a plastic knife and dig in between the skin and the coconut meat. You could easily get the whole thing out when it’s melted within 5 mins! Will come back in the future as it is one of the good supplement for health! …查看更多

Happy chicken pot
18樓雞煲火鍋專門店
2018-08-16
Chicken pot has always been one of the tradition of Hong Kongers to have during gatherings if you did not know! Came here on a Wednesday to eat with my colleagues. Just to make sure we would not have to wait in line, we made an advanced booking. This is definitely a smart decision because when we arrived (ie 6:50pm) there was already a line waiting! By looking at the menu, I guess we all can tell this restaurant has a long queue during happy Fridays and the weekends! If you go during these days or any public holiday then you would have to add extra $10 per person (super worth it!).The environment here was extremely happy! Everyone is eating while chatting up with their friends on a mid week day. 10 minutes after we got seated, the pot of chicken for 4 person was brought out. You can choose the spciyness of the dish up to your liking! I think they only have one kind of flavour though. The chicken was super tender and it was well marinated before serving! Our table got little spicy since it was our first time coming here we wouldn’t know how spicy it would be! Once you finish the chicken you can add pork bone soup in and order unlimited items on the menu (cuz it is an all you can eat restaurant). A few things we ordered were: crab roe, snow flake beef, squid balls etc. All of the items were fresh and when it was put inside the pork bone soup with the leftover spice of the chicken pot, I felt heaven — not even exaggerating! Other than food, they also got a fridge with different kind of tea and soft drinks. For alcoholic beverage it would be counted per bottle or pint. If you crave for dessert afterward then this place also covers that; ice cream and frozen yogurt! The flavours offered depends on the season as well I believe! 11/10 recommending this place to you if you want to be localised in this city! …查看更多

Creamy rich custard & ice cream
Sweets House Cha Cha
2018-08-14
Every time I go grocery shopping with my parents, it is a must to stop by Cha Cha! At the first sight it was already very much eyecatching because of the matcha ( who does NOT love matcha?!). The pricing was just right; $16 for a custard and when you buy 4, you get one for free! They also have their customised menu: one custard and one ice-cream which would cost around $48. Not bad at all of you compare to other matcha providers in Hong Kong. I have ordered two originals: one ordinary custard and a matcha custard. Also got a matcha ice cream to make it a whole set. What I really like about them is their quality is never compromised no matter how many customers they have (there’s always a long line waiting to order!). It is creamy, rich and just as hot sizzling as it looks! Will always be back when I need my fix! 😍…查看更多

My friends have always been telling me to try daikiya all along but I never really had the time to do so.. especially when summer is here and we probably all need to have that bikini body! But I have decided to give that up because, to me, food is life ^^ My best friend and I came here to have dinner $248 for one + 10% service charge and you can eat as much as you want within 2 hours that were given. I think this was definitely not overpriced at all because their main selling point is the fresh seafood that they have! As we sat down, there were so much food to choose from. The menu itself is categorised into 10 different sections; sashimi, sushi, cooked food, dessert etc to just name a few. You simply just have to choose whatever food you like, mark the amount, write down your table number then pass it to one of the floor staffs. We did not hesitate to order at all because it is a buffet and we gave up on our diet so we ordered almost everything on the menu. The thing that surprised me the most is the fact that the food came out almost instantly! Despite the fact that the restaurant was so full by 8pm... we were just amazed. The food was delicious, fresh and well presented when they arrived at our table. With such a price, my friend and I were wondering if the restaurant could still make a profit from selling it at such a price. Also, I really liked the staffs’ attitude, they always have a smile on their faces, even if there were so many tables giving them the orders. I hope the restaurant receive more attention and of course I would definitely be back soon!…查看更多

Came here with a friend on a Tuesday. The place is really easy to find; 2 mins from causeway bay exit A or 5 mins from exit F (honestly recommend exit F more because you just have to walk less!!). Because we made an advance booking so we did not have to line up for a long time. There were around 4 staffs on the floor so you never have to worry about them not taking your orders or ignore you like other restaurants. The menu they have is pretty impressive, with a lot of choices for rice and noodles made in Thai and Vietnamese recipe. When I asked if the owner is a Vietnamese, they said no, so I do believe the taste would have a mixed of Hong Kong to fit the culture here better! Their drinks menu is looong like wise! And they have the special drinks like longan and coconut ones, freshly picked and imported from Vietnam. The options available for us to choose were a lot so we took quite some time to make our decisions. And the best thing? The staff did not seem to be annoyed at us at all, and she even said “take our time, please let me know if you need any recommendation”. Where would you find a $50-$100 restaurant with such kind of service??So we ordered a papaya salad and a pork neck vermicelli with fish sauce. The salad was fresh, with the right amount of salt, sugar and fish sauce mixed together. And I love love love their pork neck meat! I guess it was marinated and grilled with Thai recipe, but the vermicelli and the sauce were definitely Vietnamese style. Over all, good taste, affordable, great location with friendly staff. Will definitely comeback to try the rest of their menu!!! …查看更多

Rich flavoured ramen
豚王 (香檳大廈)
2018-07-31
What’s better than ramen on a rainy day? My friend and I were craving it for lunch so we headed to butao to try this place out. The restaurant mainly have 5 types of ramen to offer and you can customise pretty much everything; type of ramen, soup base, oil amount, green onion, etc. We ordered one black truffle and one classic butao ramen. Classic ramen tasted heavenly with its rich, creamy and flavourful soup. The black truffle were just being promoted for a month so I guess that’s why it tasted just alright compared to the classic butao. Would definitely come back to try other ramen tho!…查看更多

Milk Top
2018-07-31
I was shopping in piago and saw this shop in the corner. They have so many types of ice cream but what attracted me most is the offer they have: $25 for 2 scoops on either cup or cone! I immediately came over and asked the lady to let me try out the flavours. They have 10 flavours in total. I had no shame and asked to try them all. The shopkeepers in fact were not even mad at me for being annoying at all! She even asked if I wanted water to clear up the taste before tasting another flavour. Super amazing customer service! I decided to get green tea and sea salt. They tasted fresh, not too sweet and was not icy anyhow! Will definitely come back for more!! …查看更多

Fun to boomerang
飲茶 (英皇鐘錶珠寶中心)
2018-07-31
This place is known as one of the those hypes in Hong Kong where you get to press the cute decorated custard buns and it will look like it’s vomiting (not in a disgusting way!) I only went here after the hype died down sometimes and man, the place it’s decorated very fancily! My friends and I went to the cwb branch on a Friday night but we didn’t have to wait at all! We ordered 4 dishes for 3: custard bun, bbq pork bun, cha siu goose and fried noodles with shrimp and eggs. Honestly speaking the buns were just so so, it was just fun to play with the boomerang. But the goose tasted heavenly so that’s a must try! Will be back to try their dry ice dessert cuz it looked very tempting! …查看更多

Divine Dinner Seafood Buffet
The Market
2018-07-31
Organised a dinner for my office at The Market and this place did not let me down. We were 18 in total and normally you’d have to make a deposit for HK$6000 for any booking with 15 people or above — which is only fair. Once you make the deposit, it’s hard to make any changes or your deposit would be forfeited.I only made the booking 2 weeks ahead so I was very lucky to book the private dining room at no extra charge! Usually the market is fully book and the more people you have, the earlier the reservation you have to make! For the dinner, this place got both food from the East & the West, including Halal! This was a major plus because some of my colleagues can only have Halal food. Seafood includes: lobster, squid, shrimp, snow crab legs, mussels, etc. If you are not a fan of seafood then there is also hot cooked food like Peking duck, wonton, laksa, Tom Yum noodles, etc. They also serve sashimi and sushi if you fancy. What impressed me the most is their dessert! Half of their counter covers just durian, which is normally hard to find anywhere else. Currently they’re having the mango summer promotion so half of the counter consisted of mango too. 11/10 would be coming back for their lunch and tea! …查看更多
