I knew the Spring Deer garden is a classic Peking restaurant in HK. Often have a lot of tour group dinning at this spot. I decided to give a try since I haven’t been there for a very long time. It was busy on Sunday lunch hour. The service was’t that good. Take a long time to order and asked for the bill at the end. I’ve ordered 1) Sweet & Sour Soup, the look wasn’t too good but surprisingly tasted OK. 2) The Fish with Wine sauce has cornstarch on top of the fish meat. Has no Chinese wine taste and didn’t look fresh, the fungus was OK. 3) Chilli Prawn was disgusting, the so called King Prawn was covered with a thick layer of bread crumbs, no spice what so ever. After break the bread crumbs apart and you can find the tiny shrimps inside. 4) Eel with spring onions, it was so oily and impossible to eat. I don’t understand a restaurant will a long history can serve just a terrible food. The location wasn’t great and feels ghetto, the only good is the price, very expensive for the shit quality and services. I was randomly passed by this Ramen/Udon Japanese restaurant near Time Square causeway bay. They have pretty nice photo display on their set lunch and decided to give a try. It has a very simple clean deco, sitting is comfort and Services was extremely well and friendly. Their main speciality is their Udon dishes but I’ve decided to try the ramen for the first time. My black garlic pork was tender and juicy, it has around 3-4 pcs which is double amount from other ramen shop which normally has 2pcs and the soup base was not too rich but expectable level. $78 which included a stranded hot drink with no service charges required. This is a classic Chinese style cafe with the traditional Hong Kong style dishes from Breakfast eggs, toast, macaroni to Wonton noodles, fried rice, Singapore noodles and Curry which all have a very high quality and taste. Portion is decent and price is reasonable. Practical deco and very clean environment. My favourite is the Curry, Wonton and the Mix Vegi Fried Noodles. Too many choices to choose from. This newly Shanghai Noodles and Dumpling house only opened for around a month ago. It has great value package set meals. Great deals & portion for around $60 HK. It already included hot soy milk, Noodles and Mini dumplings. Noodles was hot and tasty. It has around 10pcs of mini wonton dumplings. Pork soup base with seaweed is very light in a point closed to water flavour. Dumpling skin is moisture and thin. For $60 HK, that’s unbeatable compare to even the Car Noodles shop across the road. This is by far the most disappointed experience at the Butcher Club. There wasn’t anybody on the line to order. I was waiting at the cashier and watching the staff in front of me doing his own thing and didn’t pay any attention to me at all. Stood there looking at the dirty open kitchen for few minutes and finally took my order. I’ve ordered a fish burger for the very first time. It’s really deep fried, overcooked piece of fish. The bun is very dry and not enough dressing and coleslaw. Just a very upset fish burger for $120. Can go anywhere for a nice fish & chips with the same budget. Total disappointment. This Mak’s noodles place is overrated, the portion is like kids meal but with the premium price point. The shrimp broth is not rich enough with using hard to find small size baby shrimp, should try Mak Man Kee in Jordan. That’s the OG with tiger prawn in the wonton. They both kind of promote no pork just pure shrimp wonton but defining Mak Man Kee win. If you haven’t eat a child meal or baby food for a longtime. Please pay a visit. This is my first visit to this 四爺 street car noodles specialist restaurant, after reading the menu, I’ve found they also have rice dishes as well as great choices of Chinese soup. They have practical design and services is great. I decided to try the curry beef brisket with rice, it came with a coriander with thousand years old egg soup. Very coriander flavouring. But the curry is not spicy enough. The menu has a very wide selection, many items to choose from and need sometimes to understand how to mark and select the items. This Crystal Jade outlet has been in Wan Chai for a longtime. After the last renovation, it has upgraded to a new name Jiang Nan. It’s kind of their deluxe version. This is the most Ridiculous ghetto noodles place in HK. It’s dirty, cheap deco, poor service but has a great Price 💸💰. It feels like it’s the only restaurant in the desert and people will pay top price for food. The only dish I know kind of tasty is the Beef Bovine Offal 牛什粉. Which cost $48, if you do a combo topics and will cost you $73. A bottle of take out chill oil is $250. It’s small and not even spicy. This is an over 20 yrs old school classic curry house. Old school means no morden decoration, average services, zero food presentation. However, it still attract a lot of people visiting them. Don’t have a good vibe but look, just focus on the Curry. The main curry style will be Red, Yellow and Black. Black curry is a bit charcoal. Each of them have a unique taste and there are more than 10 different style on which Beef, Chicken, Fish, Prawn to choose from. This is totally a hidden gems, without my friend invited, it is impossible to know and understand there is a private kitchen at Ming Pao industrial building. It has a fully functioned Kitchen with a Dinning table spacious for at least 12p, perfect for a private party. The specialty is Chef Terry’s Huge Prime Rib Eye Steak 🍖. It’s massive, juicy and tender Doesn’t really need any side dish for paring. It’s much well worth than go to Morton or Ruth’s Chris. I’ve been to this Chinese BBQ cafe style restaurant for few years time. This place has a huge variety of Chinese comfort food but their specialty is definitely their home cooked BBQ. I would say their goose can compare to few Michelin one near by. The venue is clean and comfort and have daily recommendation for lunch and dinner. This is a classic snake soup spot in Sheung Wan. It’s been opened for more than 40 yrs. They serve nothing but Snake soup and their home brew Snake wine. Compare to many other snake soup place in HK. I’ve found 蛇王林 has more rich taste and the snake meat is more tender, soup is more lighter than gluey. Get a shot of the homemade snake wine. Very smooth taste and the heat will come straight from your body. Price point is reasonable compare to the one in CWB and Central and has much better quality as well.
