Best service @SciencePark but worst food!!
朗廚坊
2016-06-09
we saw this restaurant while driving past and decoded to give it a try for a leisurely lunchfirstly I want to commend the staff, they are all very responsive and good manner and efficient. unfortunately, that's the only positive thing about this restaurant as the set lunch is expensive ($100-150/per set) and the food is very bad. I wouldn't come here again if the set is $20.duck: tough, too salty, small serving, taste like cardboardsalad bar: cheap foods, not fresh or canned materialpasta: wasn't even cooked properly, tastelesshamburg: was okay…查看更多

Not a Good Choice for Hotpot
一寶中日高級海鮮火鍋
2014-12-30
Food: We had 6 people and orderd a set for 6 which cost $1988. Most of the food was inferior, including the most important which is the set of beef. You can see the photo #1 below, it was so hard to chew and it was very tough and tasteless. The seafood was very small serving in size (just 6 prawns, a few slices of whelk) you can see the photo #2 but at least the prawn is quite fresh. For the other food we had such as the Balls and the Wonton, you can eat better quality of hotpot dishes at restaurants costing 1/4 of the price. If you come to this restaurant, I recommend to order separately and not from the "set" you will probably get better quality food.Reservation & Service: We booked a table for 6 at 930pm for a ex colleague gathering. After complaining for 5-6 times, they finally gave us a table at 1015pm. After we got onto the table and ordered, they forgot to place order to kitchen for the soup base. So all the food arrived and we had to ask 3 times before the soup finally came. For the end of the dinner which finally at 1145pm, we had to wait 10 minutes. Overall, this is not acecptable and the staff are very very poorly trained.Decoration: This is probably only one thing good about the restaurant, the decoration is very nice and tables are not close to each other. The seats are very comfortable.I would not recommend this restaurant.…查看更多

HappyHour/CasualDinner OK. Forget the Steak!
Mr. Steak Grill
2014-11-10
food quality: we had a party of 6. someone ordered the seafood boullaibaise for 2 for starter, this was definitely the highlight dish of the night. it was under $200 and very generous with the ingredients. i ordered a $550 set of which the entree was okay some smoked salmon, similar quality to a hotel buffet. the dessert was fairly poor a tasteless blueberry cake similar to quality to a $10 maxims. my main course, a trio of steak (wagyu, aberdeen dry aged, and USDA ribeye) was decent, but certainly no comparison to a proper steak you would get served at Ruth Chris or Bistecca. They did not serve the steak in a hot plate and everything got cold pretty quickly. my wife had a $400 USDA prime ribeye that is around half the thickness of what I expected (we all know a good steak must be at least an inch or slightly less to be cooked properly right?). my sister had a cheap pasta, we all thought that was awesome.service: top notch, very attentive, both english and chinese. we were supposed to have a minimum charge for the "private" room but even though we missed by 2-300 they let us off.deco/ambience: this is still causeway bay "foodstreet" its more for casual dining rather than a fine diningoverall value for money: i think this place is awesome for some snacks and happy hour, but i wouldn't pay this money for the experience here. i'd pay a bit more and stick with a proper fine dining steak house in central.…查看更多

不過不失的 ramen
達磨日式拉麵
2014-08-26
We tried Daruma around 1 month ago, we have finally finished trying all the ramen shops in the Tai hang area. While Daruma is not a disaster, it just is relatively the weakest food in that area. I would only go again if I dont want to queue in the other shops and desperate to have a ramen.atmosphere & service: this is probably the only +ve thing. you dont have to queue here. the seating is quite spacious. the staff have good attitude.soup: very flat, maybe 5 out of 10. not very special.ingredients: noodle, meat wasn't very tasty. just normal.price: slightly more expensive than other shops in taihang (its on main street).…查看更多

Best ramen in taihang
凪豚骨拉麵
2014-08-26
We finally got to try BB Ramen last weekend on a Sat lunchtime around 1pm (no queue) but we walked by on a Fri night last week and there were around 10 people queue outside. We heard this shopowner is currently being sued by "Tuen Wong", hope they will be okay.atmosphere: probably one of the letback for this shop, mainly 4 seater tables, not very traditional ramen-shop feel, and quite cramped.service: service is good, greet and goodbye by all the staffsoup: porkbone soup, i give 8.5/10, i think this is the relatively stronger performance compared to other shops in taihang.ingredients: noodle was okay (i prefer the instant ramen type rather than the traditional wheaty one), but the pork was letdown (overcook, tough, overfatty). there are 4-5 main choices.price: slightly cheaper than those shops in taihang…查看更多

Eat in Not Bad, But Never Ever have the Burger
Classified (交易廣場)
2014-04-04
As we have to stay in office in lunchtime, we routinely rotate restaurants around Central including IFC area and Exchange Square area, usually they will delivery or we will order takeaway on phone and pick up at lunchtime. This week we ordered from Classified, and I forgot to stay away from the burger. Last I ordered it earlier in the year, it was raw. The whole meat patty was raw inside because its very thick, and totally inedible. I had to throw it away and have another lunch. This week, we ordered again, my colleague asked them for medium-well-done, and it arrived. Again inedible. Totally dry, totally overcooked, it felt like eating a shoe. After eating 1/4 I threw it away and had to order another lunch. Now there are many other things from Classifieds. For example the breakfasts aren't bad. The salads are quite big size and filling and lots of ingredients. My colleague also said the lasagne is pretty good, with lots of cheese and proper 3 layers. But whatever you do, never have the burger.…查看更多

亞熱泰 new thai restaurant near Olympic station .!!
亞熱泰
2013-10-22
A friend mentioned this new restaurant opened in Olympic, it is around 2 min walk from "The Hermitage" residential carpark entrace. Around 6 tables cosy inside, and around 6 tables al-fresco dining which is a nice change to the crowded Thai restaurants we frequent in island side.We booked an indoor table for 3 and only waited 1-2 minute before being seated. We ordered pad thai, one green curry, one salad, one vegetable, 3 chicken satay skewers, 3 chicken wing skewers. Overall we found the food quality quite good & definitley value for money. The chicken wing for example is huge and is only $15! What impressed me most was the green curry, it taste very authentic (more spicy) and not that watered down sugary stuff you get in Central or TST restaurants. The only letdown is that they still haven't got the alcohol licence but the manager said they are applying already. Next time I would like to try the Crab & vermicelli, that looked really good on the menu. Too bad my wife had allergy to shellfish recently. Will definitely be back!!!!…查看更多

Super Disappointing Father's Day Dinner
Strip House by Harlan Goldstein
2012-06-18
Service & Atmosphere*tall pretty receptionist waits for you at door (dude, this isn’t Armani bar with 200 bankers).* wait staff in general were nice but overly eager to rush you to order (we were asked to pre-order appetizers before the whole table arrived… three times).*the restaurant is pretty small with low ceiling, even smaller than Bistecca. It felt cramped and there was a party of 12 boys nearby it got very noisy very quickly. Seats are comfy.Wine:*we didn’t order wine but I had a look at the wine menu and it was decent for a casual restaurant (but probably not if you are charging $600 for a steak). I could see some drinkable Italians for under $500.Food:*onion soups and risotto starters were nice (my friends ordered, I passed in order to concentrate on my big strip).*free olives, cheese & bread were probably my highlight of the night.*steaks were a disaster. My strip was cooked rare when asked for medium-rare. My GF shared a 16oz ribeye with her mom which was definitely not 16oz and was cooked too rare. That is not good enough if you are charging $598 + 10% service charge.*sides were “passable”. Fries nicely freshly made along with the mash. Spinach was horrible.*plates aren’t hot enough. With the low ceiling and aircon blasting on my food, my steak was bare cold before I went through ¼.Verdict:Fail. Stick with Bistecca with friends or Ruthchris/Morton/Hyatt with your client.…查看更多

Sunday Afternoon High Tea on Father's Day
香港洲際酒店大堂酒廊
2012-06-18
PRO* high tea time is 230-530pm, earlier than most hotels (except for peninsula which is 2pm)* no need to queue in line (like peninsula)* free valet parking for your spending* lovely live band* unsurpass view of harbour and HK island* savoury food is awesome. the scones while not as good as mandarinoriental for example, but still well made.* attentative serviceCON* very expensive at $488 + service charge per tea set for two. that is nearly double some hotels like excelsior and substantially more expensive than peninsula (the std of comparison for TST hotel high tea). * limited choice. you can only choose either western or chinese high tea. there is no a-la-carte. it would be nice to be able to just order a coffee and scones* sweets/pastries/desserts weren't that special. the lemon cheescake was bad.…查看更多

Waste of time, only go if you are REALLY drunk
樂宴
2011-09-06
We went to this place at around 9pm on Friday, it is still quite busy. Overall my feedback for this restaurant is pretty poor. The only thing I thought taste good is the Gyoza, but I am 99% sure this is soem frozen pan fried gyoza which taste the same if you cook at home. We had 7 passengers.1) sake selection is horrible. overpriced and serving cheap stuff.2) the place is noisy and full of drunk office people (most likely just finish 3 hour of happy hour drinking, like ourselves!3) decoration is non existent. it doesnt look japanese, and certainly doesnt give me any okinawa feeling.4) okinawa culture and food is supposedly very much delicate, attention to detail. i do not taste this at all. the food we ordered mostly looked like japanese bar food and not very attractive in presentation.5) service wasnt great, but decent given that they were full house. at least they served ice water.6) warning my GF saw a friendly cockroach in the shared building toilet down the hallway (not in the restaurant).7) they let people smoke in the balcony (which is actually has airconditioning and they use plastic to wrap around the balcony area.thanks, but next time i will prefer go home to eat noodles.…查看更多

Fine Dining Italian at its best...!!
Al Molo Ristorante Italiano
2011-06-30
2 of my friends had a birthday party at this lovely restaurant in TST last weekend for a party of 24, we were divided into 3 groups of 8 sitting on the bench table area.Ambience: Casual fine dining if there is such a term, its buzzing and people are walking around and lighting is bright, most people are there for a casual get together with friends or family, rather than a posh high end business dinner.Service: Very attentive. Freshly parmesan cheese, grated right on top of your pasta. Hard to beat that...Seating: As our party was so big we had to sit on the high tables which wasn't realy that comfortable. But I see most of the normal tables and sofas seem quite comfortable.Cost: $800 per head, is a steal. Way too much food. The portions are VERY BIG.Pizza: Was lovely, slightly reminds me of a pizza express but just taste fresher and lighter but very good.Risotto: This is a big statement but this is the best risotto I have had in years, remind me a little bit of the famous Lobster risotto from Baci Baci back in Lankwaifong days. I like my risotto al dente, quite chewy, but not undercooked, and defintiely not overcooked to be like Chinese rice. I prefer the sauce not over thick or over runny, and the flavour needs to get into each grain of risotto. With some cracked pepper and freshly grated parmesan, it was really great.Pasta: The ones we had weren't too special.Lamb: Our party attendees had choice of fish, beef and lamb. I really am glad I chose the Lamb, it was cooked perfectly to my liking medium with red centre. THe portion is VERY generous and after I gave 1/3 of my fish away to my friends, I still could hardly finish it. The lamb was served in a bed of cooked oats, I have never had oats for dinner and it tasted a bit like mushy corn but it was excellent!…查看更多

Great Alternative for "High Tea"
視佳廊
2011-06-30
Last weekend we tried to go to Peninsula for "High tea" at around 4pm and the queue was at least 1 hour long, so we decided to try out if Sheraton had this offering. We found that 18/F Sky Lounge did indeed offer "high tea" set and we ordered one set for 2 ($200)... and also one Samosa ($90).Service: was reasonable attentive but only because the restaurant is very quiet at this sort of time.View: was magnificent, eating with this view is great and I think night time is even more beautiful.Price; cheaper than I expectedHigh Tea set: the funny first thing I noticed is that I have never seen the dessert at the bottom and the scones at the top. Usually the places where I like having high tea, the scones and starters are at the bottom, the savoury and the sandwiches are in the middle, and then followed by some dessert pieces on top. The scones weren't that fresh but OK. The sandwiches were good. They served some foies-gras flavoured mini pudding which tasted quite special. The dessert was OK but nothing too mind blowing.Vegie Samosa: tasted soggy and straight out the microwave, this is not the place to have something Indian!Overall: Would like to come back to try having a drink at night or trying the dinner restaurant next door...…查看更多

The Worst Fine Dining Western Restaurant
Hooray Bar & Restaurant
2011-04-18
Firstly I must admit that the restaurant ambience and view is very good, can't beat this in Hk island. Unfortunately that is where it all ends. I haven't been to such a horrible "high class" restaurant in a long long time. I would rank it as top 3 worst experience I ever had.1. Service is horrible. It took them over 30 min to take order for a party of 14. They came over to triple check the orders and they STILL managed to get the orders wrong. Entrees were still coming while people's main course were coming. Orders were missed. I feel pity for the waitress but he was quite elderly and obviously couldn't really converse good english. (30 minutes later, ie 60 minutes after the 1st person ordered, we still see him discussing with the manager on the orders next to the POS).2. Food is rubbish. I have made many review on openrice but never had to use this adjective before. 2 steaks came and one the m5 was inedible tough. Another steak was ordered medium well and came as rare. The beef tongue can be best described as salted elastic band. The caesar salad consisted of 4 pieces of lettuce and some condiments - u must be kidding me for $138 and no sauce. Meanwhile I ordered a pasta, which I can describe as overcooked Taglietti with undercooked sauce (taste like uncook egg white) and no taste whatsoever, with some sprinkled beef bits. The only thing I found acceptable on our side of the table was the mini Tapas (italian mixed meat, sausages tasted good). If u want a nice place for a few drinks this place is lovely (ps $500 for cheapest bottle of cheap wine). If you are coming here for dinner - forget it. We spent over $800 per head and we went to Tsui wah at 11pm to get some Egg/Ham noodles. Im not kidding.Summary: If you are coming here for drinks and a chat or a smoke thats great. Avoid eating there at all costs.…查看更多

80% the taste/quality of the Singapore original !!
無招牌海鮮
2011-03-28
Having been a fan of No Signboard in Singapore and also their Macau shop (which sadly closed last year), I am proud to be the first to write a review. We heard that the shop opening last week and immediately made a booking for 12 people.Positive Reviews* the food was great. when booking the table, we asked if they used sri-lanka crab like the singapore shops and they said yes.* we started off with 2 crabs (chilli style) and 2 crabs (white pepper style) and fried mantau, i'd say its 80% of the taste of singapore. for my favorite chilli crab, it was slightly more hot/spicy, and slightly more oily, and slightly less egg white used in the sauce. but its still VERY GOOD. crabs were around $750 per crab, which was more expensive than singapore but i guess acceptable in HK.* we also had deep fried oat prawn (cost around $70 per piece) which was slightly overcooked and a bit too sweet... and also some vegies... Disappointments* the service wasnt fantastic. but i guess its acceptable for 1st week when they iron out the operational deficiencies. we ordered a second round of crab and they totally left out the order. we had to wait 45min. we ordered 2 x Ku Lo Yuk (it didnt even show up).* the decoration is not comfortable. do not expect the comfort level of the venetian or esplanade restaurant styles. its more like a over-lit modern deco western restaurant which i dont really like. if you have 2 people, make sure you request not to have the table right outside the toilet.* no crayfish or some of the other dishes lik.e Kailan/tofu available.…查看更多
