The restaurant offered two dinner seatings over the weekend: 6-8:15pm and 8:15pm til lateI am so glad that we were being offered seating upstairs as we found it not as cramped. Ordered the $38/glass highball, the alcohol was on a weaker size as expected and reflected on the price - still good to try as it’s pretty refreshing for the hot weather. The assorted sushi platter was good. Tasted good and fresh! The slow cooked beef tongue was very tender and went very well with the yuzu pepper! We wanted more!! The clams dish was a bit disappointing as the clams were very tiny (not fatty) and we found some sands in them. Mentaiko egg roll was also very nice even it was intended to be served cold! We also ordered the smashed tuna roll topped with crab meat like everyone - but my first bite was a piece of small ice along with the crab meat! I suggest that they should defrost the crab meat early in advance before serving the dish please - the tuna roll was great but the whole frozen crab meat ruined the dish experience. I liked how the staff/owner would offer tasting before ordering the sake. And they offer various size by glass/ 180ml / 720ml so we get to taste different sake. Came here on a Friday night around 8:45pm the restaurant was empty! Quite a few staff working for such a small restaurant haha friendly staff though The $288 omakase course started off with the citrusy papaya salad, then came with the crispy rice cake with crab. Grilled chicken thigh skewer was tender and flavourful with the secret sauce! Chicken wing was good. My friend liked the soup but I found it a bit salty. Curry was great. Nothing really to complaint. We arrived at this very lively restaurant on the rather empty side of the Hollywood Road on a Saturday night around 8pm. Was told to wait so they can clear one of the last available tables at the time. We were being sat after 5min which was not an issue for us. The restaurant was not too big. There seems to be a semi private area where it sat 6persons (with a curtain kind of separate from the rest of the main dining area) The music was pretty loud playing some pop songs (some Sabrina carpenter music) but I didn’t mind. We ordered right away with our server. The pork skewers came first. A bit on the saltier side but tasty. We also ordered the stir fried Angus beef over a fried egg. It was very delicious but the beef came in very small chunks of meat (not exactly what I would have imagined, more like minced beef but good meat) then we had to wait for another 10-15 min until the other dishes finally came. The morning glory was very tasty (a bit on a spicier side as I did not mention to the server to make it medium spicy like the beef dish. It was so spicy that I had to wait to eat with the seafood fried rice and cleansed it off with the cucumber on the side lol ) Food overall was tasty. Staff were friendly. They kept coming back to remind us the food was on the way. I assume there were only one or two kitchen staff so food took a bit longer to arrive on busy nights. Conveniently located in soho by the escalator, this place served some very nice Mexican tacos which I haven’t had enjoyed for a while as we all know the Mexican food scene was totally missing in Hong Kong. The staff were very friendly. The staff gave us additional tortilla chips when we didn’t get to finish the very rich cheese dip, though it came with a small chunk of avocado in which I was hoping that they could be more generous with the offer The baja fish tacos were very flavourful and crispy! As several other reviewers have mentioned, you come here for the food, do not expect good (or at all, any) services. We ordered still water and the wait staff put the bottle of water down with the hand showing us to help ourselves!! What kind of restaurant where they charge you for $1000 a pasta dish and expect the guests to pour their own water?!!!!The owner/chef was the one who was allowed to take orders with an attitude (not in a particular bad way but not too good neither) A few good things: food came in big portions, though the wait staff seemed to be pretty busy running around, they always managed to get us new (hot) plates for almost every new dishes that were being served. I liked the ox tongue was very well seasoned and crisp, red shrimp linguine has a very strong aroma and love the thick sauce lingering the linguine - excellent texture, and the baby squid pasta was pretty interesting too! Went on a Sunday morning ish around 11:30am, there was not much people dining. Just me arriving and one diner almost finished. Ordered the avocado chicken pretgel with a flat white. I must say the coffee was pretty amazing that was not expected (think I would come back even just for the coffee)!!The pretgel looked small but trust me, it was filing (and already cut in half which I really appreciate) the pretgel was out of this world!! Arrived 5 minutes before my booking at 1:30pm. There were two lines, one on the left facing the restaurant was for walk ins, the one on the right was for those who booked. You need to go in to let the staff to know that you have arrived for your booking. At first, the guy said there might be a little wait today, but very quickly I was being seated at 1:29pm ( 1 minute earlier than my original booking time) You will then be asked to pay for your meal at the kiosk right by the entrance. It was pretty straight forward and there was a staff to guide you. Then everyone sit in circles facing the grill. Thank god the ventilation was pretty good, it was not smoky or smelly despite the meat are cooking in front of you. There was a little wait before i got the first meat. Then the second and third meat all came in a timely manner. My meat was very juicy and well seasoned - it tasted as good as they could be eating by itself (no other condiments were needed in my opinion) I was pretty stupid to drop the entire egg into last meat with the remaining rice. The correct way was to separate the egg white and the yolk and just drop the yolk. Overall, nice and welcoming staff! Yummy yakitori with a very good vibe! The restaurant was full with people on a Monday night! Most yakitori were on the saltier side (strong flavoured with seasoning - still yum!) maybe that’s their strategy so you will order more drinks haha! The tsukune with egg yolk was very tasty! $48 buy 1 get 1 draft beer (Sapporo) was hard to beat! Corkage for 720ml sake was $150 per bottle! We made a reservation at 6:30pm on a Friday night and we pretty much had the entire restaurant to ourselves until 7:30ish…that’s when most other people started to arrive. We were being served by a Japanese chef. We ordered the omakase menu. Appetisers were just okay, the beef was okay (being the most essential pieces of the meal!) not as tender as I would have expected, also lack of marbling, didn’t melt in my mouth (!) one thing I liked was the egg white foam with the egg yolk, was very interesting and I found I was dipping that most with my beef!Not really worth the price for the quality that we are paying in comparing to the very famous one from Central…查看更多

I arrived on a Monday around 12:20pm without making a reservation and managed to get a table (that seats up to 4 persons). I came first to get seats as I knew the restaurant could get quite busy during lunch time, while my friend was on the way, the waiter repeatedly asked how many people will be arriving which was quite annoying...We made our order at around 12:45pm, my friend ordered a pumpkin crab meat soup and linguine while I skipped the appetiser and ordered the cod filet risotto. (the waiter deliberately took the order without mentioning  anything...) The soup for my friend came, the linguine for my friend also came and finished, but my risotto was still not here! It was more than 30 minutes and my lunch still has not arrived. I checked with the waiter and asked him to follow up on my order and he told me immediately without even checking " we are preparing it, risotto always take longer"!! Yes, I understand risotto takes longer time to cook, it is also not my first time ordering a risotto at a restaurant yet it never took such a long time to arrive. It would be nice for the wait staff to mention it might take a longer time then usually especially during peak hours when he took my order, or the chef needs a better time management for their customers. I waited 10 more minutes as the risotto was still not here, I went straight up to talk to the same waiter, he told me the risotto will be ready in 3 minutes, again, he just made it up, he did not even go to the kitchen to check, of course, my risotto did not arrive in 3 minutes but couple minutes more. The risotto came, it tasted okay, the skin of the cod filet was seared perfectly and the risotto was done right. Heard this restaurant is quite hard to book as they don’t pick up the phone…Turned out they have some good reasons why. Arrived on a Friday evening, being seated at the table along a ‘corridor’ of the restaurant right across the small kitchen. There’s really only one front of house staff who’s doing almost everything - explaining the menu, taking orders, filling up beverages, serving, clearing tables and much more…it’s understandably there’s no time for him to pick up the phone to take reservations. The jumbo blue mussels could really taste the freshness and loving the flavour! I could really use some bread to finish all those leftover sauce. The much anticipated caviar linguine didn’t disappoint! The prawn americaine sauce in butter was out of this world, love the texture of the linguine - highly recommend to come for this dish alone! The caviar was on point, they added flavour to the dish! Love it! Octopus-clam risotto was good, a bit too watery to my liking, but there’s this magic I was craving for more after the first few bites. I couldn’t stop eating until I got too full. Most of the dishes were great but I would say the linguine was my favourite of the meal! Wonder how I got my reservation? The drinks here came out pretty eye opening! Passion fruit sparkling ade - pretty but a bit too sour to my taste. Matcha latte was matcha latte but adding a leaf as decoration made it looked more sophisticated! Smoked duck breast salad bowl came in very vibrant colours! I will ask for less dressing next time as I felt like I was tasting more dressing than the ingredients every bite I put in my mouth! The greens and other ingredients were very fresh but the over dressing almost ruined the freshness of these ingredients! Pull pork Benedict took a bit longer to prepare but it came out perfect! The shredded green apples on top definitely added the textures and lightness to the dish! Loved the apple cider hollandaise sauce it really added flavours! Love love love everything about this dish!
