📍 Pica Pica Address: Shop G-H, G/F, Kai Tak Commercial Building, 317-321 Des Voeux Road Central, Sheung WanI’m combining pics from both my my visits within 2 weeks!For first-timers, I’d recommend the following dishes:- wagyu steak tartare: their steak tartare is placed on top of grilled bone marrow, and the seasoning is very balanced. Do be careful not to drop the tartare on the pile of salt at the bottom, otherwise it’d be super salty (guessed who accidentally dropped it there twice😅)- salmon bikini: actually salmon and cheese sandwich. Sounds simple but sandwich made the Spanish way is simply better! The bread was also toasted so it’s really crunchy and they were really generous with the cheese, giving the sandwich a rich texture.- black paella: aka squid ink paella. They’d let you take a pic before they mix it for you. Very delicious!- basque cheesecake: their basque cheesecake was actually more like a tart with cheese lava flowing from the inside. I always had a hard time looking for affordable (or at least reasonably priced) options in Central, so I was very glad to come across this lovely sushi bar on the ground floor of Central Market.The cute soy sauce-shaped lights caught my eyes so we decided to give this place a try. We ordered the $398 omakase set, consisting of 10 pieces of sushi, 1 sushi roll and 1 soup/ rice.The sashimi was all fresh and the shari was lovely seasoned and at the right temperature. Their weekend lunch menu is of great value for money. You can get 2 courses at $168 and 3 courses at $198. Honestly I think the pear tart dessert is quite forgettable so I’d recommend you to get the 2-course lunch and maybe order a couple starters for sharing off their a la carte menu.We ordered 1.5 dozen of oysters to share, and they were all very fresh. We have a family tradition to go yumcha on the first day of the year and we opted for the Spring Moon today.We ordered 8 dim sums and their signature fried rice. My favorite dim sum was the pork cheung fun as the rice roll was very thin and the pork fillings were delicious. I also liked the 咸水角which was in the shape of a chicken (sorry I didn’t get a pic of that!). I always had a hard time choosing my main course as both the Iberico Pork and the Omi wagyu (supp. $388) were really good! The wagyu is perfectly cooked to give a beautiful pink color lined by the fat layers, making it really tender and juicy. Their starters were also pretty nice, especially the first one consisting of a very fresh sweet shrimp sashimi topped with salmon roe and based with a mango salad. Very refreshing indeed.I do want to point out that it’s a bit weird to present mac & cheese as a side of the main course at a Japanese x French fine dining restaurant, but it did taste good.They also have a beautiful terrace where you can grab a drink while enjoying the beautiful panoramic view of the Victoria Harbour after the meal.…查看更多
