I went here last week in the afternoon to try the Pad Thai and boy was it disappointing. First of all, the noodles were stir fried using a basic pan and electric stove—not a wok. And the flavor was underwhelming: The prominent taste in the noodles was lime. Also, the portion was small and the shrimp they used tasted frozen. It was so bad I couldn’t even finish the noodles. As for the service, the non-attentive, skinny twenty-something server wearing glasses was constantly on his phone and pretty much did the bare minimum. The old white lady that works here as a horrible attitude. When I asked her about changing the toppings, she rolled her eyes and glared at me. Any question I asked was met with a terse, unprofessional reply. The pizza, on the other hand, is not bad. Before this place opened, I was skeptical about Shake Shack. I figured it was just an ordinary burger that got put on the map simply because of the hype train. But when I tried it last week, I realized how legit this place is. From top to bottom, the burger is simply done right: the buttery bun has a nostalgic dinner-roll taste; the lettuce and tomatoes are fresh; the cheese is standard American; the patty is oozing with beefy flavor and a crunchy, caramelized crust; and the secret sauce is the signature that completes this masterpiece. Overall, this burger tastes this reminds me of Culver’s (Wisconsin) and Steak n Shake. As a California Native, I never thought I would ever utter these blasphemous words: “Shake Shack is better than In & Out.” …查看更多
