A friend recommended this restaurant to us and in particular the t-bone steak, so I decided to come and try.When we arrived at around 7:15pm, the restaurant was practically empty. The waiters were hanging around not doing much and then I realised they were standing on one side chatting among themselves. Then they were louder and louder and I could hear exactly what they were chatting and laughing about. This was not a cheap restaurant, appetizers were around HKD200 to HKD300 and main course were on average HKD400 to HKD500. I would have expected the service be a lot more professional! The restaurant was only one third full throughout the whole evening. There was a big group (adults and kids) sitting at the back of the restaurant in a private room without doors. They were so loud and at one stage I thought I was at Cafe de Coral!I shared the t-bone steak with my husband. The steak had little flavor. You needed mustard or sea salt, if not it was so bland. We quickly asked where the steak came from. They said New Zealand. No wonder! I made this reservation 2 weeks ago and I wanted to make sure on the day I do have this booking. However no one called in the afternoon to confirm, nothing! I called them at around 5:30pm, thank god, they did have my booking. But then they said they needed the table back by 9:30pm. Well, I was not impressed that they only said it now, but then I thought it really dependent on how quick you serve our food. I said yes, no problems.We walked in, it's a tiny tiny place and the tables were set very closely together. My first thought was oh no, I had to listen to other people's conversations all night! But then I noticed the blasting music and I actually had problem listening to my husband who sat across me.The service was strange. The same waitress trying to sell me their cocktails for the day. I told her 3 times No!The menu was simple, good, I liked it.We started with a steak tartare. It had the raw egg on top. Very delicious dish. Good size to share as an appetizer. Main course we ordered the Florentina for 2 and medium rare. Meat was very tender and it was just right. A the start nothing to complain about...But then because the plate was not hot enough, the meat went cold very quickly. It was a very nice Sunday lunch at Petrus. What a price! HKD468 for a 3 course meal plus a glass of wine. The service was excellent, very attentive. The food was superb. I started with Melon and Ham jelly. A very refreshing entree for summer. Followed by a zucchini soup. Generous size soup. My main course was duck with roast peaches. The peaches matched perfectly with the medium rare duck breast.Not a very busy restaurant, which suited me fine as I could have a peace and quiet lunch with my family and enjoying the view from the restaurant.As I was so impressed with their lunch, I would definitely try their dinner very soon.…查看更多

I have tried this lunch buffet once before and I thought I would give it a try again. Unfortunately I have to draw the same conclusion. For a HKD495 lunch buffet, I expected more variety and higher quality food to choose from. The appetizer buffet table was a disappointment. Only 2 types of green salad with a few dressing to choose from. There were a couple more small dishes, that's all.The next table was the juicy bar. 4 or 5 juices to choose from. I was wondering was this breakfast buffet or lunch buffet?The seafood table had half lobsters, prawns and clams. They looked great but unfortunately they didn't taste great. Lobster meat was very tough and I ended up only finishing half of it.The good thing that this buffet also had a menu sheet which you could order other small dishes such as appetizer, seafood, meat, pasta, sushi and sashimi. They were supposedly made to order. The fish or seafood from the sushi and sashimi were of low quality and i seriously doubt that they were made to order and they were on my table 2 mins after I placed the order. This is a very busy restaurant and if you would like to make reservations, you could only do 6:30pm or before. Anytime after that, you would have to queue up.This place is renounce for it's udon. We ordered the cold udon with 3 different sources. The udon is delicious and tastes so well with the difference dipping source.We also ordered the Japanese Beef Sukiyaki. Very generous servicing with the beef and also the vegetables. The waitress cooked the vegetables for us at our table and we cooked the beef ourselves.Definitely value for money!…查看更多

Needed a quick coffee to fill time before our movie session starts. Very crowded place at the seatings outside but then hardly anyone sitting on the extremely tall stools inside the shop. Those stools are so tall and I had problems climbing up them and getting off them. Latte was so good. Just right, no fuss. Milk was creamy. This is not the first time I have visited this japanese BBQ restaurant and the quality is kept at a very high standard.Ever since the Japan earthquake in March, I visited this restaurant twice and I found that it was not as busy as it used to be. Food is still great though that's why I keep visiting this place!We ordered their remaining shipment of Sendai Japanese beef platter. Yummy! Feeling a bit sad that we may never be able to have Sendai beef again..... We also ordered the Australian Wagyu beef platter. The marble was evenly distributed and they were soft and melted in my mouth. I am a big fan of Japanese beef and ever since the earthquake, I have told myself that I have to be content with Australian Wagu beef. I am not just content, it was surprisingly good!The Australian Wagyu ox tongue was also highly recommended. This is my second time to this steakhouse but the funny thing is I totally forgot which kind of meat we had last time. All I remembered was it was a nice steakhouse. We sat right next to the meat display, so convenient! The chef recommended the Florentina 36oz, which is a porterhouse steak. Sirloin on one side and fillet on the other. Then my husband spotted the bone marrow in the fridge. We asked how the bone marrow can be cooked. The chef explained that it would be grilled and served with toast.The bone marrow came first as our appetizer. I have not had bone marrow often and didn't know what to expect. The serving came with 3 bone marrow and with a spoon each. I scooped it all out from the bone and spread it on the toast. I also added some source onto the toast. Wow! Amazing taste! I didn't expect to be able to have bone marrow in a steakhouse!Next came our main course, our huge Florentine steak. I tried the sirloin side first. It was cooked to medium rare with red in the middle. I normally prefer the fillet side as I do not like my steak chewy, but this time I truly enjoyed the sirloin a lot more. The sirloin side was so tender, juicy and full of flavor. On the other hand, I found the fillet side a bit too tender and it certainly smelted in my mouth. In terms of the meat, I found it less flavorsome then the sirloin side.Overall, a great restaurant that I would visit again very soon. West Villa is certainly my favorite place for weekend yum cha. I don't just love the food, I also like it's forever bustling atmosphere. Also if you like to bump into the rich and famous, West Villa is definitely the place to be. I can pick out movie stars, singers, TV stars and famous politicians 9 out of 10 times I dine in this restaurant. This time a famous celebrity sat right next to my table.Back to the food! The variety of dim sums that you can order in this place is amazing and they also constantly bring out new dishes. Rather than the usual Prawn Dumplings and their famous BBQ Pork, I ordered the mix chinese sausage buns. The bun absorbed all the taste of the sausage and it is so delicious. Another dish that I would like to recommend is the rice with beef and tomatoes. You probably thought I was crazy ordering "HK Cafe Style" dish in a proper Chinese Restaurant. I can assure you that this is the best rice dish with beef and tomatoes you would have ordered! The rice was lightly fried with eggs. The beef was tendered and full of flavor. My husband & I tried this new teppanyaki restaurant for dinner mainly because it serves Hida beef. We did not go for the set menu but tried the a le carte menu. We ordered sushi platter as starter. The serving is very generous. It can easily be a main course by itself.We then ordered abalone, small squids (they said these are glow in the dark ones) and Hida beef tenderloin 250g. The teppanyaki chef was a bit green and unfortunately I could not admire his slicing techniques but nonetheless the finished products were delicious. The abalone came from Japan and was simply so tender. The small squids were interesting. I expected it to be chewy but they were not at all. The highlight of the evening had to be the Hida Beef. 250g was so big, basically turned out to be 3 big pieces of steak. The marble was so evenly distributed and it simply melted in your mouth. One thing to criticize them was that the chef cooked all the Hida beef at the same time rather than waited for us to finish some first and then start cooking for the rest of the pieces.
