Was looking around for places for dinner with my brother and came across this place. I've always wanted to try it but never had the chance. Anyway, we were starving and didn't have expectations at all. Turned out to be ok. Food was not bad. Go somewhere if you are looking for exceptional Shanghainese food. Portions were huge! We ordered two noodles and some dumplings and a "saliva chicken". "Tan Tan noodles" and "chicken wui min" were average in terms of taste but both bowls were huge. Overall I was pretty satisfied with the amount of food and the price. Service was acceptable, they even asked us what kind of tea we wanted, really nothing much to complain about. Have been wanting to try this place forever but never had time. Finally paid a visit with my brother. Service was mediocre but food was surprisingly good. Haven't had better sausages in town. Does anyone here know of any places with better sausages? Please let me know because I really want to try it out... One thing to complain is if you order curry sausages, they'll just give you some sausages(which taste good by themselves) with a lot of curry powder on top, which makes it really weird and the sausages themselves don't have any curry taste whatsoever. We also ordered the "pigs knuckles" which was quite good. Obviously you need to eat it asap otherwise it turns cold and as a result less tasty. Quality of the dishes vary but most of them were pretty good. Liked the abalone chicken, fried oysters and 聖子 most. Other dishes like the fried shrimps, crabs and fish were OK. Couldn't come up with any places to eat in TST so my gf and I walked up to Knutsford. This place was actually quite empty but it was a weekday. We went in with no expectations at all and when we sat down I started browsing openrice for reviews of this place. Noticed quite a few crying faces and I almost wanted to walk out but it was cold and we were tired so I figured just give it a try. The chairs they used were quite cheap, didn't match the price we're paying. However, the food was quite nice. Mussels were fresh. GF had pasta, not bad at all. My main was the "something something" steak special from Australia. I didn't even pay attention to what the waitress said cos I thought it's not going to be good but that was what she recommended so I just said "yeah I'll have that". Turned out to be quite tender and juicy. But for the price of ~350 it's quite pricey. Almost forgot about the bread basket. It was delicious and I couldn't help ordering seconds.Service was OK. They didn't serve tap water and forced us to drink Sparkling water. Tried a dim sum place last night in Kowloon City, might as well try the others as well so I could do a direct comparison. So this is my second straight night of dim sum for dinner. I wonder how many night of dim sum I can tolerate...First is the service, definitely not as good as the one in Kln City. Perhaps they're short-staffed, only about 3 staff at night when the place is full. Next is the environment. Place is quite small and seats are also those wooden ones which could make you feel hard after sitting for while. Otherwise place is clean, nothing much to complain about.Then we come to the food. Quality is at most average. When compared to the one in Kln City last night, there's a long long way to go for this restaurant, they really need to spend some time improving it. Not to say it's bad but if you had some really good dim sum the day before this would be no where near. The only one that I thought was quite good turned out to be the 流沙奶黃包.There is one good point worth mentioning though. This place is open till 2am which is probably your only choice at late hours. Found this closeby dim sum place while searching for where to eat tonight. Place is closeby in kowloon city. Obviously don't expect to have parking spaces as kowloon city is infamous for not having enough of those...We didn't have to wait at all and sat straight down at around 7:30pm. Service was excellent both by staff and a guy who looked like the owner. Foodwise, everything was up to standard, nothing to complain at all. Have to agree with the other reviews that the burger was pretty good, but if you don't like wasabi don't order it as it could feel a bit too spicy for some. The 臘腸雞煲仔飯 was even more well prepared than many other places that specialize in 煲仔飯. Shrimp 腸粉 was very yummy too. The shrimps had a chewy feeling on top of the thin and smooth "skin" wrapped around them. Price was very cheap indeed, total around $140 for 2 people.Seats were a little uncomfortable as they were hard wooden seats but overall experience was good.If you're looking for a cheap place with good dim sum then you must give it a try, especially if you happen to live around or pass by this area.…查看更多

Decided to eat a late lunch at this place. Ordered a 雞脾沙律 but waited for a long long time for it. I think it took at least 15-20 minutes but well worth the wait (maybe I was too hungry). The chicken was quite tasty with very tender meat but the deep-fried skin was a little to hard. Lemon tea was acceptable. For a simple tea set this is definitely a place to consider.…查看更多

Went for dinner with my mom and ordered carpaccio for appetizer, a pasta and a gnocchi for mains. Carpaccio was quite good while the chicken pasta with jalepeno was exceptionally well prepared. It was very appetizing. However, the gnocchi was a disaster. It was like mushed flour, only the sauce was ok. I had a difficult time finishing that dish to be honest. People tended to be quite loud there (maybe a coincidence) and service was average, can't really expect too much I guess. Decided to give it a try after seeing a recommendation from a magazine the other day. Went with my family and we ordered a 鯊魚骨雪梨煲. After ordering we saw the other tables order 豬肺煲. It definitely looked more attractive than ours. Ordered a 胭脂牛粒, quite expensive $98 but turned out to be disappointing. It required a lot of chewing, very tough texture. Maybe I had to much expectations for this price range. The other food were just average overall. Nothing extremely bad nor good. Dumplings were good. Service from the waiter was better than expected. Price was decent around $150 per person but if I had a choice I would pay a little more for better quality food. If the other hotpot places are all full and you MUST eat hotpot then you could give it a try.…查看更多

Went to this place a while ago with a bunch of friends. The first few times were very good. But this time food quality dropped dramatically for some reason. Not sure if it's a one time thing or not. Used to be my favorite Indian restaurant but there are just too many curry places in the same building that I haven't tried, no reason for me to re-visit this place again.…查看更多

Heard that this place has good fish. Gave it a try but found that quality was at most average. Some of the fish tasted quite bad actually. Will not go back again for sure. One thing good about it was the rice. They serve authentic Japanese rice, very tasty indeed.…查看更多

Wanted to try the skewers here for a while but didn't have time all along. Tried it a couple days ago but was disappointed. Maybe cos I had high expectations. Turned out to be just average. Also had a beef noodle which was just ok. Not too tasty in general. The other dish was 蝦膏炒飯, I like this most out of the 3. Got there on a rainy day and got a seat straight away. Waiters and waitresses were very polite and wore smiles on their faces. However food was horrible. Take a look at the pictures. That long skinny stick was supposed to be chicken skin. I've never seen them this way. Maybe I haven't had enough chicken skin before...Plus they made us wait for a super long time for just a few skewers. For this restaurant, one try is more than enough.…查看更多

Saw the reviews here and tried it tonight. Don't expect the atmosphere to be great inside a 街市 but other than that food was great. First off was the pesto pizza which I thought was just average. Crust was too hard...Then came the Carbonara linguine. My gf thought it was very good. I thought it was above average. Last was the roast pig which I definitely recommend. The skin was crunchy albeit a little too salty but the meat was super tender. If you guys ever go I recommend you make reservations cos the place gets filled up quickly.…查看更多
