It was my first tim eating the sirloin cut of steak. I choice the USDA Prime Sirloin Steak, it was full of steak flavour but not as tender as the tenderloin. I still prefer the tenderloin cut of steak after all.The honey wheat bread is still excellent as always. Soft and warm, it tasted like cake. Our whole family went to rex cafe for brunch. I noticed that they only serve the brunch menu on sunday and they close at around 4 pm on sunday. But I managed to order the chicken on the main menu.The chicken was so tender and juicy, even though the size was small but it was one of the best chicken dish I had ever tasted, definitely recommended. I revisited this restaurant on a sunday night, they changed menu, the delicious tenderloin steak is gone! To that, the price of the food had increase since the menu change. The honey and wheat bread tasted more like cake, even though it is 200 kcals, a great cheat food if those who are on a diet. It was soft, but still warm (microwave?).My father and I ordered the Prawns and Mushroom Pasta and Chicken on the Barbie (half chicken). I had tried the chicken before and it was good as always. Unexpectedly, the Pasta was pretty good as well, it was very creamy and they added a lot of cheese. This was a good place for a family dinner. However, I disliked the dark lighting inside. I couldn't even read the menu properly! My parents ordered a ribs and chicken combo. I ordered a barbeque half chicken and my brother ordered a lamb chop. As soon as we sat down, a waitress delivered a basket of bread and muffins to us. The banana flavored muffins containing walnuts were exceptionally good. The barbeque chicken was was bigger than I expected. All of the dishes were served with some fries and a salad with dressing in it. To begin with, the lamb chop was very tender. It tasted very nice even with nothing on it. The ribs was average, i thought that they threw in too much barbeque sauce.Next, was the chicken, the four of us ate like one whole chicken because another barbeque half chicken was included in the ribs and chicken combo. My father complained that it tasted plain however my response was the opposite. I thought it was the best barbeque chicken I've ever had! The dessert was the chocolate molten cake which was okay. Went here to have lunch. Ordered a Grilled Chicken Breast (Cajun Sauce). It came with some mashed potatoes which was very creamy and smooth. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked. The cajun sauce sprinkled on top of the chicken greatly enhanced the chicken's original flavor. I also went to help myself a plate of salad. $60 dollars for a small plate of salad? After my lunch, I went here to try the regular frozen yogurt with oreo bits. The yogurt here are very similar to the ones in crumbs. They're both very cold and have a ice cream like texture, they also are the same price! ($28HKD) However the lack of homemade toppings here, the slight sourness in the frozen yogurt and the size difference makes crumbs better. I will probably try other topping next time.…查看更多

CapriceMy mum, my brother and I went to this expensive restaurant in the four seasons hotel this afternoon. This was a very formal lunch. The first thing you'll notice when you get inside will probably be the elegant interior design. We waited for a long time before the waiter handed us the menu. We were offered olive bread as a welcoming food, it was very soft and moist, also carrying a strong smell of rosemary. Caprice was very busy today, there was around 10 cooks working hard in the open style kitchen and a lot of waiters walking around the whole place, trying to deliver food as quickly as possible. The waiters were all very polite. They'll leave you alone when you don't need them and will not bother you. The bread (included in the set lunch) I chose next was too hard, not warm at all. Good thing they have salted and unsalted butter available (my brother doesn't like salted butter). They also have a nice design to them. What can I say about the speed? They're serve dishes very quickly, around 3 minutes after you order your food. The waiter would bring the food out with metal covers on them and the manager would also tell you/explain to you what you're eating personally. Overall, this restaurant has excellent service. Price (Lunch)2 courses - $400HKD3 courses - $450HKD Both price above exclude beverages.AppetizerAll three of us ordered the Alaskan King Crab with Cauliflower Mousse, Shellfish and Ginger Jelly. The ingredients were very fresh. The Alaskan King Crab and cauliflower mousse was a perfect combination, I think the cooks did a great job there. The ginger jelly on the other hand was the watery kind, not the firm kind you normally eat. The small vegetables inside also add a crunch to it.Main CourseI ordered the Crispy Capelin Pork Belly with Creamy Polenta and Sweet and Sour Sauce, I'll have to say that the skin was indeed very crispy. The crispy pork belly was very similar to the ones in the chinese restaurants, however it was a few times bigger.It was just the right size, not too big, not too small. I was also pretty surprised when I found out that there was not much fat in the crispy pork belly, because in most restaurants they're pretty fat and greasy. What I actually liked most in this dish was the creamy polenta, I thought it was mashed potatoes at first, however after the reading the menu again I know that it was polenta. It was very creamy and smooth and the sweet and sour sauce made it even better. I was very happy when I finished the crispy pork. My brother ordered the Grouper Fillet with Fondant Tomato and Seasonal Vegetables in Lemon Grass Infusion. Let's talk about the fish first. In his opinion, the fish was perfectly cooked, soft and tender, not mushy but still firm. It has a real fish flavor to it, not some cheap fish stock crap. He told me that the vegetables were alright, but the tomato has a extremely exquisite taste to it and the lemon grass infusion taste more like butter with a hint of lemon grass smell. Despite the strong smell of the butter, it did not over take the lemon grass.My mum ordered the Black Sea Bream with Prawn and Squid Fricassee in Orzo Pasta Paella. She said the fish was average. However, she liked the Orzo Pasta Paella because the rice was very large and round.DessertI ordered the Red Berry and Bourbon Vanilla Mille-Feuille, Yoghurt and Lemon Sorbet. The mille-feuille was average, however you could tell that they used very high quality ingredients. Let's move on to the sorbet. It was exceptionally good, it tasted very much like yogurt and lemon. There was also a little biscuit under the sorbet that goes very well with it.My brother ordered the Guanaja Chocolate Tart Soufflé with Fresh Raspberries and Calamansi Sorbet. He told me that the guanaja chocolate tart souffle was basically a chocolate souffle with raspberry puree filling in a chocolate tart shell with a small sorbet on the side. He liked it a lot because the chocolate tart was yummy and it taste like chocolate and raspberry together. The appearance of this particular dish was very special, the sorbet was serve in a calamansi skin (it looked like a lime), under the skin there was a cup containing some dry ice. It taste just like lime, but way stronger. He thought that it was better than haagen dazs sorbet as it's more fine and has a better texture to it.My mum ordered the Tropical Coconut Tiramisu with Exotic Fruit Minestrone and Pabana Sorbet. She said that the biscuit sticks was okay and the sorbet was very cold. Beneath the coconut mousse there was mixed fruits with tropical flavors. Petit FourI was shocked when the manager deliver some more food to our table after the dessert. He told us that it was a petit four but it looked more like a petit three to me because it only has three small treats for each of us. There was a orange colored turkish delight (pretty sure it's homemade), we did not liked it because it taste a bit strange. The next one was a christmas pudding looking like thing, it has a crispy chocolaty outer layer and a stronger custard like interior. My brother thought that this was the best out of the three. Finally the last one was a square chocolate with some nuts inside, this taste like ferrero rochers. Despite the price, the food was exceptionally good and it's worth every penny. My family decided to try some cupcakes and macarons from this famous little shop. I also heard positive comments about this shop from other open rice users. The cupcake was not too big and not too small, just the right size, however I think it could be slightly bigger. The Icing on top might be too sweet for some people. The actual cupcake was very soft and moist. Despite the sweetness, this was no doubt one of the best cupcakes I've ever tasted. However, it's a bit pricy ($22HKD each). The macarons on the other hand was only $10HKD each. Although they're quite small, they only cost 10HKD each. I was disappointed to find out only few flavor was good. Caramel and vanilla flavor was the best and strawberry flavor was the worst, it doesn't taste like strawberry at all. The texture was pretty good though, smooth and a bit hard on the outside and soft in the inside. After trying there cupcakes and macarons, I would recommend this shop to dessert lovers.…查看更多

Me and my family went to this restaurant for tea. Their waitresses are very polite, maybe due to the fact that we come here often (At least once a week). I always order chicken wings with either udon or rice noodles, I decided to try something new this time so I ordered the pork chop (BBQ Sauce) with french fries. The pork chop was just right, not overcooked at all. However to be honest there was just too many BBQ sauce. The large amount of BBQ sauce also made the french fries soggy. My mom bought me some macarons today for dessert. Paul Layafet has varieties of different flavored macarons, costing 15HKD each. These bright colored macarons were very rich in flavor, especially the chocolate one, it has strong chocolate taste to it. I went to this restaurant for dinner. I ordered some ribs with potato wedges and a chocolate thunder. The ribs was good, better than the ones in spaghetti house. However personally I would prefer Ruby Tuesday's. I was also pretty disappointed when I saw only few choices of dessert here in this restaurant. I had no choice but to order the chocolate thunder. This was my first time here. I waited for a long time for a regular frozen yogurt with house crumbs because there was apparently a problem with the machine. The frozen yogurt was very cold, a perfect treat on a hot day! It also has a ice cream like texture to it. But wait, the house crumbs made it even better. The house crumbs was no ordinary cookie crumbs, it has a mild scent of cinnamon to it, you could definitely tell it's homemade. I barely finish the regular size frozen yogurt! I originally wanted to go to the restaurant in the Marriott Hotel, however I heard that they have food poisoning in the news so I went here instead. I've been there before and I love their desserts. I wanted to come here for a long time but just didn't bothered to, I almost forgot this place! The first picture is the beef, It was good because it's very tender inside. The small apple crumble is very sour, one of the worst apple crumble in hong kong I think.But no worries! The banana pancake I ate next was fantastic, even without any extra topping - chocolate sauce. Their homemade ice cream was not bad as well, however I would still prefer haagen dazs simply because the quality is much better. The last photo was the cranberry tart, I liked the base but the cranberry filling had many seeds in it. Yesterday I bought the Mount Blanc for my mum, I heard that It was pretty good and my mum is a dessert lover. It only has a very thin chestnut layer outside, most of the contents are whipped cream. Today I went to try their egg tarts. One of the best in hong kong. The cookie crust is very thick and has a scent of butter to it. This is slightly bigger than the other egg tarts. This is definitely one of the best egg tart i've ever tried in hong kong and it's only five dollars for one!
