Though I'm usually not the biggest fan of Italian Cuisine, the attention to detail, seasoning, and plating at this establishment has blown me away with every dish served. With the dinner set, I was able to get quite a large serving of appetizers, desserts, cheeses, and main courses. We were able to stay seated in the restaurant for quite a while, allowing us to chow down on as much bread and calamari rings as we possibly could. Likewise, the desserts also deserve some high praise. We ordered the panna cotta and tiramisu, and none of us regretted paying the extra dollars. The panna cotta was silky smooth and delicately wobbled in our mouths while complemented with the berry sauce, and the large plentiful tiramisu tasted rich and tangy with its smooth cool cream and strong coffee + cocoa notes. I do wish the panna cotta was large though.Overall, a great once in a while dinner place for special occasions, especially if you’re trying to impress someone after work. I heard they have some good happy hour deals too (I don’t drink so not sure), so maybe that would persuade you into coming as well.…查看更多

After an arduous hike within the Central area, I finally arrived at this seemingly hidden Korean Katsu Restaurant. Though we came with a group of 3, we only had to wait around 10-15 minutes for a spot, even though it was a Friday Night at 7pm. As we seated, our mouths watered upon locking eyes with the  variety of korean comfort food and deviously tempting cheesy katsu available. As we waited, it was quite nice seeing the staff working calmly and efficiently as they meticulously prepared our meals. We were quite surprised by the international diversity of the staff, which did make me a bit worried initially, since I had bad past experiences with Indian or Mexican chefs working at the sushi bars in America. One of the staff was Korean at least. But my doubts quickly faded upon the arrival of our meals.For only about $198 a meal, our set included a hefty serving of fried goodies, bowls of rice, salads, and cold noodles, some sauces, and some Korean veggies. Some plates even included a few "happy" faces for us. The food was, absolutely phenomenal. Though every single meat served was well seasoned, tender, juicy, fatty, and bursting with flavor, I can't help but feel regretfully fat and unhealthy. Worse, we then found out that rice, noodles, and salads were UNLIMITED at this restaurant, which is an insanely good deal for a place in CENTRAL. This was probably one of the most satisfying dishes I ever had in Hong Kong so far, and my blood vessels were luckily spared since they didn't have any dessert options. Overall, a 10/10 amazing place to bring your co-workers or closest friends. Tucked away from the busy streets of Causeway Bay, I accidentally stumbled upon this tiny restaurant while trying to find a nearby wet market. Though the space was quite cramped and stuffy, the wooden and fish-picture aesthetics did complement each other with a Japanese "ship-like" feeling, almost as if implying you will be served fresh fish of the day. Funnily enough, there was no kitchen in sight to be seen, and only 2-3 servers came out to bring food and nothing else.I sat down, and spent the next 10 minutes figuring out their QR code ordering scheme; I was redirected 2-3 times, from their menu website, to Open Rice, to Payme. But after the food arrived, I instantly felt that the trouble was worth it.For around $98, I was delivered quite a multitude of dishes, from rice, to noodles, to salads, and 3 sides. Despite its obviously minuscule portions, the quality was surprisingly good, and I ravenously enjoyed every bite of the meal. The highlights were definitely the eel and the steamed egg in my opinion.Overall, you can tell that this is a place the staff wants you to quickly eat and get out, and I can't blame them; The lack of staff interaction, the self served tea, the QR ordering, and the small space did pressure me to eat as fast as possible. Despite that, great Japanese food for a cheap price. I was captivated by the unique roadside dinning atmosphere, and walked in for lunch. Not sure how restaurants in France actually look like, but the aesthetics of the establishment did capture a European-vibe, with its wine rack, wide expo station, and fancy yellow lights. When the menu arrived, we were given the option for an appetizer and a main course, with drinks, desserts, and other snacks requiring additional add-on fees. I think I've yet to see a menu where almost half of the options require additional costs. Nevertheless, we caved in and decided to chip in extra costs for the French Porkchop and the Steak, along with a salad, stuffed eggs, and a hot latte.Firstly, the appetizers. I gotta say, I really enjoyed the quality and flavor bread and the eggs; The bread was baked nicely, and the eggs were well seasoned and were delivered with creative and appeasing presentation. Usually I'm not a fan of boiled eggs due to the hard sandy yolk inside, but it seems like the chefs have infused the yolk with truffles and some sort of spicy sauce (maybe mayo?), which overcame my usual pickiness. The salad was alright in terms of taste, but upon arrival the portion size seem unworthy compared to its cost, and the veggies just looked a bit wilted and sloppy. I think there were barely 8 pieces of spinach on there haha.On the other hand, here come the main courses. The steak was a bit of a disappointment, since we asked for medium and they were served quite well done, so it was a bit hard to chew through. On the other hand, the porkchop was nice, fatty, and surprisingly tender despite its size and thickness, I really enjoyed every bite of it until the end when there was no more fat, and sadly lost my appetite. Though the steak was mediocre, I must say I am quite impressed with the porkchop, and never knew such a hefty slab of meat could harbor that much flavor and butter, and still taste that soft, delicate, and juicy.Not a bad first time after all, and I would be excited to try out more of its dishes (and more bread). As a hotel directly connected to Citiplaza, this coffee shop offers not only amazing food, but a variety of spots to study, hangout, and eat lunch with your co-workers. Honestly, I have been religiously camping at this spot for many afternoons for work and study sessions all the way till 8pm. They not only provide free wifi, but also sockets for you to plug and charge your devices. I even sometimes see tutors teaching classes here after school. It is quite competitive to get a spot though, since many were already taken up before I got there at 1pm. But man, sitting down here is a surreal experience.The food was amazing too. We got a burger, onion soup, and butter chicken (no idea why); All of them tasted fantastic. Other than that, I have frequently tried their other coffee items before, such as their Special BLACK Coffee (i think its sesame or charcoal?), Matcha and Hojicha Lattes, and my favourite: The Hojicha Chocolate Latte. I definitely recommend trying out at least their cafe menu, and taking a little break to enjoy some slowness here in Hong Kong. Quietly hidden away in Wan Chai's moon street, this spot was a quick walk from Exit F from the Admiralty Station. I was quickly enraptured by the odd clash of nightclub-like lighting, the wall of stereos, and the neon lights. The internal design of the restaurant was quite an interesting take on Japanese and Western fusion; the dim lanterns that hovered above; the walls of newspaper scraps and spray painted pop art; the rivers of ice that held up premium bottles of wine (which somehow provided decent air conditioning against the hk summer). Visually, I was beyond impressed. Would definitely recommend this place for a small group of your closest pals.As we seated, we were greeted with lovely staff; Our server took great kindness and patience teaching us the ingredients in each dish, what serving sizes were to be expected, and the most popular dishes they were known for. As a customer, I felt easily cozy and relaxed as I took in the classy and elegant atmosphere.Likewise, the food that came after did not disappoint. For a table of 2, we were recommended to order a snack, a tataki, and two maki rolls. Firstly the Hiyayakko; I will never forget the smoothness of the tofu which complemented greatly with the heavenly seasoned soy glazed mushrooms. Never knew soy sauce could be paired with tofu so well. Next the salmon tataki; Meh, I usually love salmon but I didn't enjoy how the edges were seared. Definitely could've tasted better completely raw in my opinion. What blew me away, was the Curry Crab Crunch and the T-dragon, both amazing choices that combined the soft vinegary rice with a fried crunch of crab/shrimp. The Curry Mayo on top was quite a nice visual touch too.However, all my joys fell through as soon as I saw the bill, almost $600 dollars. To be fair, I shouldn't be too surprised since this place was located between Wan Chai and Admiralty, but MAN did I feel broke. I wish amazing quality restaurants stopped forcing their customers to pay $45 just for a drink of water, while the 10% service charge was just as nasty too. Specifically, I wish we gotten more portions if we were to pay that much. On another note, I also heard from my friends who tried their Dai Ninki Setto set, and were just as disappointed with the prices. They had to pay like $300 per person (it was his birthday), and had to share ONE BOWL OF UDON between the three of them. I can understand sharing the appetizers, but expecting three dudes to share the same small bowl of noodles is kinda wild. But hey, I haven't ordered this set yet, so please read this with a grain of salt.Overall, amazing unforgettable food that you can rely on for special occasions between 2-4 people, but please order a la carte instead of the set I guess haha.…查看更多

As a new addition to Japanese Restaurants in Cityplaza, the staff were able to deliver high quality ingredients to present an unforgettable culinary experience of modern izakaya artistry. Throughout our dinning experience, we were able to indulge in freshly delivered sashimi, sushi parfaits, donburis, and hotpot (shabu shabu). Though the taste and quality of the dishes were top notch, The cooking pot for the shabu shabu was too small, which made it hard to eat its contents and cook meats due to the cramped space. Though they slightly moved locations, this restaurant still remains delicious yet cramped with heated atmosphere. Despite the relatively lousy service and busy staff, I still enjoyed the many dishes that were prepared and cooked for us to eat. Unlike most BBQ places, the staff here cook the food for you, so you don't have to worry about messing up some A5 wagyu meat yourself. However, it is a bit awkward to have 1-1 or private conversations since there will always be staff who is unfortunately eavesdropping in every conversation as you wait for the meat to cook. Every meat served was superb and had outstanding quality. Since this JOMO in particular was located right under their gym, it provided gym customers a nice accommodating restaurant that could satisfy nutritional goals and healthier meal options within the Tai Koo area. Though the outside looked fashionably modern and pristine, the seats were a bit small and the seating tables were quite cramped, allowing you to easily eavesdrop other customers around you or make you feel slightly uncomfortable and uneasy.Other than the awkward dinning environment, the food was quite nice. I especially enjoyed Iberico Char Siu they provided (despite the small portion), and the matcha latte that complemented it. However, the overall menu options were quite limited, and many of the dishes (especially yogurt and fruit bowls) weren't too mind blowing and could be easily recreated at home. All in all, I wish the price of this location could match the quality of the food and dinning experience provided. You could easily have a more satisfactory lunch/dinner in other cafe/restaurants around the area, but this pricy establishment isn't too bad, plus healthy food options are usually more expensive anyways.…查看更多

Found in a random dark alley in Fortress Hill, this restaurant was a chill spot to find after a long day of work. We were greeted with a nonchalant yet friendly staff who patiently told us the details of the menu and provided consistently great service. A shame I couldn't enjoy some of their coffee as their coffee machine unfortunately broke on the day of my visit, but at least I was lucky enough to try out their dinner set for the night. Though the restaurant was quite photogenic, the atmosphere was a bit too dark for my taste, and we were asked to move a few times in order to make way for additional customers. Our spot was also unfortunately right next to the bathroom so it felt a bit awkward staring at people coming in and out behind us.The first few dishes were absolutely delicious. I was absolutely blown away by the Croque Monsieur and the Mussels, both of which were seasoned and cooked to perfection, perhaps even hotel/michelin quality in my opinion. I definitely wish I had ordered additional portions.After those stunning dishes, we were served a lobster risotto and some churros for dessert. The risotto was alright, but I would have preferred the rice a bit softer and the sauce a bit thicker/creamier. Other than that, the shells of the mussels could have been slightly more durable; I'm not sure if the hardness of the shells were dependent on the cooking method or the species, but eating while trying to avoid broken shell pieces was a bit annoying. The dessert was unfortunately a let down, since the churros were a bit too soft and the alcohol within the chocolate sauce was way too strong, which overwhelmed the sweet chocolate and cinnamon flavors. Other than that, might visit again sometime for the lunch set instead. With insanely beautiful and well seasoned dishes, Mott 32 is definitely a place to bring people to for a formal or celebratory event, and I wish I have discovered this place sooner. First things first, my friends and I were all blown away by each dish from appetizer to dessert, with my personal favourite being the Iberico Char Siu and the Peking Duck. Afterwards, the presentation they had for their desserts were also equally stunning and delicious, notably their Oolong Tea "Xiao Long Bao" and the Sesame Chocolate Tarts. The staff were also really generous with ordering enough portions based on our headcount, and ensured that all of us were having a great dinning experience.The only small pet peeve I had was that I felt like we were bothered by the staff a bit too often (especially during serious/personal conversations), and d the overall lighting was a bit too dark. Though a bit far from the MTR station, I'm glad to have stumbled upon this cafe/restaurant hybrid. As soon as I walked in, I was instantly allured by the late 20th century decor and the many clocks, wooden cabinets, toys, store signs, and newspapers that were sprinkled around the room. Finding this vintage store felt like discovering a treasure trove, and the food that came with did not disappoint either. Compared to most other Hong Kong restaurants, the owners were completely fine with customers taking their time and peacefully enjoying the dinning experience for as long as they want. I already came here twice, and both times I stayed for around 4 hours as I worked using my I-pad and Computer. Shame they didn't have wifi though.The food was insanely good. I tried numerous drinks which all had amazing quality and richness, most notably their hojicha. There was also a "spicy chocolate" option which I might try in the future. Other than that, definitely recommend getting their wagyu lunch set meals, since I don't think I'll be tasting beef that good for a while. A few things to be aware of though, they are quite a few tourists that come and go taking pictures, so don't be surprised when you see random customers walking around the small restaurant taking pictures left and right. Other than that, I was moved by staff members three times around their tables as they needed more space for other customers, which honestly fair enough but it was a bit annoying on my end.All in all, high quality beef for reasonable prices, a very friendly and hands-on owner, and a comforting nostalgic feel to just melt into. With a straightforward booking using OpenRice, my friend and I were welcomed into a tight yet heated atmosphere. Here we enjoyed a multitude of Southeast Asian cuisine that surprisingly matched quite well. We were greeted with nice staff, and they were really patient despite the busy lunch rush. We got the pork neck salad, the pad thai, the chop chop satay, and some thai milk tea; All dishes were able to vividly capture the aromatic spices of Indian and the street food of Thai cuisine.The only thing I'd be careful with is that you should definitely plan a visit ahead or after the lunch in order to get better seats and quieter atmosphere. A bit hard to find initially (9th floor in a commercial building), the service and food were really good, even during the busy rush hour. The prices that were provided during the lunch times were relatively reasonable (for Hong Kong), where you are able to feel full for around $120-150. The dinning atmosphere was nice too, and the side dishes that accommodated the main course were delicious and well portioned as well. Was invited here by a friend recently, and I must say I was fully encapsulated by the quiet yet charming atmosphere. The way the ambient lights reflect off the books and the wooden cabinets really provide a comfy warmth to the food experience.The food was definitely a let down considering its price. My friend and I ordered some pasta dishes around the $100 price range, but the portions were very small, and had more veggies than actual meat. Would definitely recommend here as a chill reading and coffee experience, but not as a place for meals. Might as well go to starbucks with wifi as a bonus benefit.…查看更多
