Decided to give this shop a try despite being advised otherwise. Could see why…ask for roast goose rice without sauce - this was clearly written on the ticket. The rubbish Sifu didn’t bother reading and just dosed quite a lot of sauce on the goose and rice. When complained about the missing request, he just picked up the goose pieces (already dosed with sauce) put the pieces in another rice box. As expected the goose skin was soggy and overly salty. Was wondering around the area and spotted this nook in a very nice theatre. Order one of HK’s classic instant noodles with scramble eggs set. In short it’s quite expensive (62 dollars) for an afternoon tea instant noodle set. The instant noodles was overcooked (the cook probably forgotten or it was left on the counter for too long by the waiter) that the noodles were soft and soggy. Will keep this short. Was doing a bit of exploring around the area’s few MTR station and chanced up this place. Decor simple. Neat and clean. Ordered a dozen of oysters, a steak, 2 pastas and dessert. Observation: Fresh Oysters, OK Food and Excellent Service. Worth a try if in the area. …查看更多

Feeling hungry this afternoon and ordered both it’s signature fried rice and tiger prawn laksa. Laksa is more expensive than the fried price - presumably because of the SINGLE prawn (cut into two). Signature fried rice - tasty with a hint of spicy ness. Well fried with wok hei. Given it used canned black bean fish, it was a bit too salty hence when ordered may want to ask for less salt if possible.Laksa - cost more and tasted bad. Does not have the aroma of spicy or coconut. A couple of fish ball and quail egg. Can’t say it’s worth it. So will avoid ordering this if revisiting. …查看更多

Ordered it through OpenRice and it was really convenient. Ordered a chicken biryani and went to pick up. And got a surprise by the small size of it. It was about half the size of what I typically have from other stores both HK and Kowloon sides. Typically an order of biryani should be able to feed one however this clearly was not. This was just, at best, a half portion - hence if people were thinking of sharing, it would be wise to order a few more dishes - but charged at full portion price. It tasted OK with only about 4 small pieces of chicken which tasted rather blend. The rice on the hand tasted quite OK. Walked around the area and found a few other Indian restaurants and their prices were about 10-15% cheaper not sure if they were any good but should serve as good alternative - certainly this author would try given the comparatively more expensive and smaller portion of Tandoori Junction. …查看更多

Had an early lunch after a short hike near Tai Hang on Sunday. Shop looked cleaned and organised - so no argument there. Ordered:A) Bak Kut TehB) Meat patty with fried eggC) Kaya Toast Suggest not ordering the Bak Kut Teh. Have had both the Malaysia (herbal dark soup) and Singapore (peppery white soup) versions and am sad to say this shop served a poor version of both (peppery dark soup). Soup itself tasted weird with an awful aftertaste. It smelt like a poorly cleaned pig stomach soup. Unless that is what you have craving for, you would be better off ordering the other items which looked and tasted decent. The kaya toast was good. Would order that again if in the area again. …查看更多

Went to the restaurant with colleagues for a taste of Sichuan - 水煮鱼 and 燃面. The food in general was OK and was served quite promptly. Service was good but any future visitors to this establishment may want to ask 四姐 to go easy on the salt and MSG! From the noodles to the vegetables it’s either too salty or heavily laced with MSG! Setting: Lazy Saturday afternoon is a half empty Chinese restaurant where seats are placed closed together. Service: The restaurant’s staff weren’t rude but doesn’t seem to care about their work nor helpful to customers. Plates, utensils were causally placed and in some cases thrown which created a lot of noise. Food: Ordered a plate of chiffon egg with bbq pork. It’s the most disappointing plate of egg and bbq pork ever. How could you go wrong with things as basic as egg and bbq pork one might ask. Well, maybe it’s because the kitchen didn’t even put in an egg in there. There was a semblance of egg (maybe a tea spoon?) and a lot (and I do mean a lot) of starch! The rice was made sticky and gooey due to the starch. Complaints to the kitchen came with “this is our style of egg and bbq pork”. It maybe better to rename the dish to starchy and pork. The bbq pork also left much to be desired. It seemed old and discarded. You would expect it to be red but it seems more pink in colour. Was feeling peekish for afternoon tea and decided to give this hidden pho bar a try.The place has an open kitchen which is structured like a sushi / ramen bar. This is a double edged sword - depending if you are doing the right things or showcasing all the wrong things you shouldn't be doing during food preparation. In the case of my visit, it is the latter than the former.I observed the following:1) after my order/ticket was put through, the food was not being immediately prepared by the cook - who was busy chatting with other co-workers. He only started working after I asked whether my food was being prepared2) in the preparation of the food, he was wearing blue latex gloves. These gloves were the same being worn when he was touching i) the soapy cloth used to clean the grill/exhaust fumes wallii) the pot, his forehead and sleevesiii) the noodles, raw/semi cooked meat and vegetables or condiments The purpose of wearing the gloves seemed to be protecting his hand rather than ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the food prepared3) the other Co workers who were preparing food for other dishes, I noticed that they added a quarter of a big can of chicken stock powder and a bottle of store-bought chilli paste into a pot of shredded carrot 4) for me the broth was too salty and MSG laced.
