Excellent service
Flint
2018-04-10
Very satisfied with the service this time.We ordered a tenderloin and a 20oz rib eye bone in, asked for medium but the tenderloin was overcooked. Showed it to the staff and without any questions he proposed to replace it with another one. Apologized a few times and since it was going to take us another 10min of waiting, gave us a glass of wine on the house (we did order one glass while waiting but there’s never enough of it...)The meats were nice and tender. We had them with a seasonal asparagus from Provence which of course was well over priced (250$ for 3?!?). The french fries portion was generous we couldn’t finishSo happy we ended up with a banana caramel I only got to sample one spoon before my partner just engulfed it in 10 seconds. Showed my appreciation with a standard coffee.Double Asia Miles for monday. What else can you ask for?Overall very friendly staff, very well served throughout, maybe it was a not so busy monday but at least you get out with a nice satisfactory feeling…查看更多

Best dish was the dessert
MR & MRS FOX

Good and friendly service. The 1st floor was not packed for dinner but not bad for a thursday. Tables were kept at a distance and although there was loud music from downstairs it wasn’t bad for dining with friendsSome of us chose the rib eye and pointed out that a 10oz was priced 298$ but 12oz costed 398$: the math wasn’t quite right. They all went for a 10oz. Maybe because the steak stayed too long on the cutting board on which it was presented the meat was just warm at most. My partner’s one was actually quite gamy for a beef steak... sides were of standard portions. My chicken felt a bit raw as well but with the dim light i couldn’t see clearly enough. Maybe the chef has improvement to be made to get the meat less “natural” next time :-). The quinoa with it was too salty. Each spoon felt like one grain of quinoa for 100 grains of salt... hopefully their homemade lemonade was quite refreshingHighlight was the banana alaska something that got flamed on the table. They say for 2 but easily for 3 or 4 for someone who has no sweet tooth like me. It was very sweet, creamy and had that cointreau punch - perfect.Overall not too bad experience, but i felt the menu is quite limited. Would probably come back for the Happy Hour only instead…查看更多

Overpriced and bad service
Jamie's Italian
2018-01-09
Booked one week ago and stated there were 2 kids, we ended up on the furthest table from the kid corner because of a big party having booked those closer tables and with half of the kid corner closed for renovation. Of course the reception did not tell us when we called, at which point we would not had bothered coming at all. People warned me you don’t come for food but for being able to entertain your kids and they were right.Food was very very ordinary and I suspect it’s from frozen food when the waitress told us the standard for the burger is medium well cooked (you can’t choose the way you want your beef patties done??). The bread just disintegrated at the first knife cut, proof that it was as old as the place probably. The price was outrageous. 42$ minimum for a drink (coffee or coke), the crab bruschetta was 88$ and that was one slice of bread! The nachos came in a funny ravioli shape and when we asked the waiter whether it was our kid menu chicken lollipop he said something unintelligible and drop it in front of the kid. Hopefully the kid didnt touch the spicy sauce that goes with it...Another waiter did come and apologized for the inconvenience but stopped short of providing any other options for us getting closer to the kid area. In the end we didn’t even bother, we just wanted to get over with it and head out.Overall, average food, overpriced, bad service. I rather stick to the TV shows.…查看更多

We quite like the chef programs on TV and decided to give his restaurant a try. Was a bit strange to find it on the ground floor of an office building in an area not that famous for their restaurants. That may explain why there were not many patrons that night, but also the menu was quite at an affordable price.Compared with other vietnamese restaurants i found the menu quite limited (couple of starters, soups, main dish - found it funny the garlic bread was in the main dish section...). Maybe that’s why the waitress was quick to tell us there were two special items for the night not in the menu (crab and lobster at 250$ each)We tried the lobster. It was a deep fried whole one in a (too) sweet and (little) spicy sauce. It was soft enough we could eat the shells (which i did out of laziness) but overall there were not much meat to chew on and it tasted like a normal chinese dish...We had it with spring rolls and a rice cake starters along with a fried noodle with scallop. Nothing particular to mention, we didn’t feel anything amazing nor authentic as we expected.Overall an ok dining experience, the location is not so fun but at least we did not feel it was a rip off.…查看更多

Downward quality
Grand Hyatt Steakhouse
2017-09-09
Used to be my all time favorite steakhouse in town but somehow got disappointed this time I visit after half a yearOrdered an old fashioned while waiting for our guests. I recall they used to be more generous and the cocktail was better. This time the content was much less or maybe they change to a bigger glass and they left a lot of sugar at the bottom instead of mixing it in which wasn't to my taste. We got off to a good start with the oysters. Fresh and the waiter came with lime wedges which is how i like them withThen straight onto the Tomahawk rib eye medium rare with some duck fat fries, mac and cheese, creamed spinach and mushrooms as side. We also got a 20oz gallican rib eye for the 4 of us.Both meats were quite bland and lean and chewy. Not sure whether it's the meat quality or the seasoning but I felt quite disappointed. They used to have a quite fat juicy and smoky ribeye before but this time I was chewing on lean meat and nerves...Sides were good enough except the cream spinach which came as a puree when I was expecting real spinach leaves...reminds me of those frozen ones you can buy at supermarkets and mix it with cream...I hope it is just one of those nights, even they now serve Young Master draft beer (always welcome) that couldn't save it. So much distressed I skip the dessert and coffee which is testimony of my disapproval.…查看更多

Was looking for a sushi/sashimi place in TST and accidentally ended up here.Very nice surprise, the shop is quite small but the ingredients are fresh. We ordered 2 oysters from the recommendation board (78$ each) - they were fat and freshThen onto 2 liver toasts (58$ each if i recall correctly) - rather small portion and the glazing on top was too much and took out the pan fried liver flavour outWe didn't know what to order next so just went with the sashimi platter and the sushi platter (something like 600 or 700 each)The sashimi was fresh and with nice assortment. Some thick cut salmon and tuna, big shrimp and fresh sea urchin. The sushi platter was also good. I don't know the name of all those fish but surely not the usual ones you would find in genki sushi lol. We were so full we couldn't even finish. The sake (chilled and punchy) didn't help either (300$ or so)Overall very good surprise, fresh food. A little pricey but all good japanese are here... staff were very friendly. Recommended and will go back…查看更多

Another no value for money brunch
Stone Nullah Tavern
2017-09-03
Saturday brunch.339$ for all you can eat main dish (choice of 4 or 5 like cheese burgers and hot dog?! How many cheese burger one can eat?). Too much glazing on the ribs it also felt like boiled although the waitress said it is smoked. Fish tacos didn't look all that appealing. Fried chickens were not very crispy, the meat was tender but not enough marinated there was still a smell in it that wasn't to my tastingThe taco buffet was nice and probably the highlight of the brunch. Nice crispy tortilla with hot chili con carne and hot cheese sauce and jalapeno. But seriously at 339$?!?We had some sparkling water that the waitress was very adament for us to refill and ended up paying >500$ per head. Margarhita and can beer for drink packages at 99$ were a very limited selection of drinks...Won't repeat this one at this price.…查看更多

No value for money Brunch
Jinjuu
2017-08-28
We knew a korean fusion brunch priced at $388 (+10%) and 2 hours free flow packages at 188$ would not be value for money at a place located in the hipster California Tower of LKF. But I kept the hope it may surprises us still so we decided to give it a try. End up there was not much surprise at allChoice of all you can eat appetizers (6 or 7 choice) but you are seated and they bring it to you one by one and wait that you are done with your dishes for the next service. The highlight was probably the chicken skewer which was quite tasty (we re-order 2 of those after). The deep fried kimchi cheese rice ball was crispy and filling. The other dishes were unremarkable.Main dish (one order per person) consisted of a choice of 1/ doughnut 2/ deep fried half chicken 3/ vegetarian bibimbap 4/ ramyun (!!! Instant noodle). This definitely wouldn't consist of a main dish in my opinion for Koreans but more as a snack...Dessert was homemade ice cream. This semi-buffet style was underwhelming. It didn't help to be seated and served dishes one by one. Portions were rather small and nothing really expensive in the menu. The free flow drinks were also refilled when prompted. You do feel they are taking their time whether it's for food or drinks to make the most of your patronage timeOverall ok once but there are certainly better brunch places with better value for money. Won't repeat…查看更多

Very good
鉄人旨花

Very nice setting. The teppan can fill 8 but they only put 6 of us and open another one. So the parties were not too close from each other and given some privacyMenu is not too complicated with 4 differents sets of teppan (the difference was the seafood part, either lobster, crab, abalone or geoduck), sashimi/sushi and grilled items a la carteWe had a sashimi platter (fatty tuna, shrimp, scallop, sea urchin salmon and other fish i can't name...). Very fresh and generous portionThen came the shrimp tempura. A bit disappointed, they were overcookedThe lobster teppan set was nice. The poor chef had to cook for us and other people sitting at the sushi bar, we spent 2.5 hours watching him cooking non stop. Like a performance. The lobster was a bit blend, the A5 wagyu was medium as we like. This chef was really into presentation and we were very impressed by the look of our dishEven the dessert was a bit sophisticated compared to other places (not the usual scoop of red bean or green tea ice cream or already made mochi)Overall a very nice dining experience. A pity they ran out of draught Suntory beer but i saved a bit of money at least ($78 for a half pint!!!)Highly recommended…查看更多

We expected loads of meat and we weren't disappointed. Kept on coming that we got so full in the end we had no room for desserts. Quality is mixed, highlights were probably the chicken wings and the beef shank (tender). The rest of the beef type (ribeye and sirloin) were too raw and tasteless, the pork on the other hand were dry and too salty, the sausages were very salty. The apetizer buffet was refreshing, although one should avoid the beef stew as the beef cubes were hard like rocks.Decor and atmosphere were festive, waitress were very friendly.Good place if you want to eat load of meat at a reasonable price. A bit sad they only have two choice of draft beers…查看更多

Too small tables
鳥居居酒屋
2017-05-15
First thing you realize when you get in here is how small the tables are and how close they are from each other. Not meant for large people or for a date.We came quite early at 630pm and it was packed by 730pm. The noise was unbearable and they forgot to turn on the A/C. The waitresses were reciting things like machines and they were quickly overwhelmed by the number of patronsFood was extremely salty (every single dish) we are still feeling umconfortable several hours later. Maybe it is a way for them to get patrons to drink the sake they pride themselves of. Or did they add extra salt (even on the skewer of corns?!?) to retaliate from us drinking a coke zero instead (lol)?Bill ended up at an expensive 1200$ with the highlight probably a skewer of top grade beef with salt and a scallop (nice sauce, served on its shell and pipping hot but pricey at 148$ for one). We also had a king prawn (overcooked for 158$), skewers of beef with minced garlic, cod fish (nice and juicy), cherry tomato with bacon (at an insane 28$ per skewer of 3), pig intestine (smaller than what you get in a street food around the corner but priced at 32$ the stick!!), chicken with wasabi sauce (instead of sauce it was just wasabi on top - wrong concept), edamame beans (boiled in salt water of course), chicken wings (nothing special) and black pork (nice one). We can forget the korean style squid which was basically a spicy raw squid salad and not a grilled one as we mistakenly thought. If it weren't for the atmosphere and the fact that my back hurts after sitting on that small chair after an hour i would have given a passable note. But i felt very disappointed coming out of that izakaya, nothing i could recommend much.…查看更多

Average dinner
8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA
2017-03-14
Had a little expectation on this one when i've been told the next two week ends were fully booked and next available date falls on a monday. Heard much of this place but i always had a misconception that fine dining at an italian would be no more than homemade pasta. We decided to break that ideaNo wonder why it was fully booked, the place is split into a bar/lounge at the front and the dinner place is actually not big, probably containing 20 tables at most. The menu is also a little tiny two pagers with not much selection if you don't eat raw food. The waitress told us there were two apetizers which were not in the menu, a roasted langoustine and let us know how it was cooked but didn't tell us the price. Not that it would have matter much but I thought you would always mention it to a client for the sake of transparency and decision making. Ended up being 500$ (higher than any other apetizers on the menu)We had only one amuse bouche which was a very nice vegetable puree with truffle, constant refill of bread which is always nice but nothing special to it aside from the fact the crust is a too hard. The old fashioned cocktail was unexepectedly refreshing and of a good proportion. The waitress didnt bother asking us if we wanted wine with dinner and just took away the glasses. Also found it odd for a fine dining service. The scallop and sea urchin was toppled with truffle and nice but a bit thin (ard 420$)The blue lobster was perfect (ard 560$) but so so tiny it looks like a shrimp Milanese veal (ard 420$) was an absolute value for money. A big piece in its bone that we shared between the two of us. Only downside was the side dish which was next to none. Two smaller than finger size roasted potatoes and some cherry tomatoes that couldnt fill the sauce dish containing them. The veal was deep fried but the veal itself lacks of flavor and no side dish was there to cut that oily feelingWe had a souffle and a chocolate 5 style (both under 200$) which was nice but not outstandingOverall it was an underwhelming experience. The menu was very limited and even variation of egg with truffle took up a half page. Hopefully the price were less expensive than other venues fine dining and you feel you are paying for the truffle which is used in almost all dishes (make sure you are not allergic to it)A place good to have been but probably not returning here. Other fine dining have better service, more extensive menu, and serve food in between courses fasterStill leaving me with my wrong idea of italian fine dining...…查看更多

A gem in Jordan
Haru Haru

Found an excellent (quite authentic) korean eatery here.Tucked in a small street, outdoor and foldable tables the shop looks like a local dai pai dong. Prices are certainly like ones, lunch set for as little as 45$ (incl soft drink). The fried chicken is worth the detour, had a half boneless spicy one for just 79$. A bargain considering some of the better known chains charge 2/3 times more.If you have nothing against foldable tables, this one is highly recommended. …查看更多

First time experiencing a teppanyaki. I was a bit doubtful with this branch after the previous comments but it turns out to be a decent experience. There weren't many parties for a saturday evening, we got to sit down in front of the chef. Got two Kumamoto sets. It wasn't our first choice but the menu is too misleading as each set has a minimum of two parties, which means you can't sample other sets (without bleeding from your pockets). The waitress was quick to point out you can add on thick cut beef, or a la carte seafood but the numbers just don't add up. Since it was our first time we adopted a wait and see approachSalad and appetizers were nothing outstanding but then it all starts with the live lobster and abalone grilled on the teppan. The view of the lobster cooked alive, legs chopped and flamed in alcohol for a good 5 minutes could be unbearable for some I reckon. The cold draught Kirin helped wash the pity away. The meat itself was ok, we weren't sure if it enhanced the flavor but at least we knew we weren't served with frozen old stuff.Foie gras on toast was very good and of a big size. Probably another highlight after the live killing show. The beef was thinner than paper (I then understood why the waitress was keen to ask me to add up some thick cut beef). I wonder why the chef bothered asking us how cooked we wanted them (like once it hits the pan, it's already overcooked...). He rolls it with roasted garlic and green onion which was nice. The set ends up with a fried rice carving (we got a Pikachu), some mixed cabbage and a taro pancake (too dry, would had been nice with an ice cream on top).Overall a good dining experience, a bit expensive when I recall the main was a paper thin beef but teppanyaki was always about the chef skill on show anyway. Would definitely go back and have him carve a Pororo for us, just remember to leave your heart outside the restaurant.…查看更多

No queue week end lunch
韓嘉嵐韓國料理 (QRE Plaza)

A nice place when you want a good korean fix and dont want to queue in week endHad 2 beef rib soup, a bibimbap and a gimbap. The soups were good but lacks a bit of flavor, and there were only two (albeit large) pieces of meat. The beef gimbap were tasty. Just what you would expect from a comfort food. The waitress messed up our order and we got a beef burger set instead of the bibimbap. We should had noted it earlier when she seems to be struggling with our ordering... the patties were overcooked and dry and lacks of punch.Staff were friendly and refilled most of our kimchi even giving us some extra seaweed. Prices are definitely on the upper-middle range for korean food but you add a bit of a premium for not queuing and having a decent meal. That's priceless…查看更多
