It’s becoming harder and harder to find quality cooking and fair prices in Macau for Macanese/ Portugese cuisine.Miramar has had always been a special meal for us when we visit regularly from Hong Kong.The caldo verde spinach soup, clams in white wine, crispy skinned pork, garlic bread, garlic prawns, cod fish balls, tripe with chorizo stew and curry crab really hit the spot.Reservations are a must. I chose Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for my birthday dinner which included children under 10 years old. I arrived slightly earlier then the other guests but the allocated table was not great. I appreciate that my booking has made a bit late for a busy Saturday night but the manager Ruben was very helpful to let me know what other available tables I could choose from. The oysters Rockefeller, crab cakes, and Cesar salad made a nice starter matched with an excellent extra dry Bombay gin martini garnished with a slice of cucumber. The main event Porterhouse was perfectly cooked medium rare to which I like to add my quirky squeeze of lemon juice on top with fries and creamed spinach. All the food is served freshly cooked and steaming hot.Great night out for all ages. Good food and very professional service with an upmarket atmosphere. Met here for drinks and dinner on night of 10th Oct 2023. Although the restaurant was empty I was disappointed to be seated near the kitchen counter which was poorly and ‘tackily’ hidden with Chinese screens: I could also hear the exhaust humming and staff speaking loudly - not at all what I expected. My first thought was that it’s such an amateurish set up which was skimping on under trained staff. Suitable price charged for the food quality and great cocktails. But sadly the atmosphere does not match the food. I suggest staff be trained to speak softly and to understand the difference between good service and sounding like a dai pai dong. Background music could mask the kitchen machinery and staff chatter. Do not ask for a table inside in the evening: harsh lighting and no atmosphere. Food is ok and drinks are fair prices but avoid this place and go next door to Frites. It’s dead and staff are under trained. There’s better places to meet your friends. …查看更多

Peng Chau was not crowded and had a nice sea breeze. We explored the village and stopped at this tiny cafe by chance. They take Covid seriously (clean), and are fast and efficient with charming original old fashioned decor. We ordered fried rice with unagi eel, Chinese kale with garlic, fish with sweet corn gravy, and baked pork chop rice - very tasty!! For Mother’s Day we were told to start at 11 and leave by 12:30. That’s what we agreed. After arriving at 11:00 and ordering, the kitchen service was very slow and we observed other tables that arrived after us and were greeted as regulars appeared to be served before us. I couldn’t understand why our salad ordered at 11:15 arrived at 12:15 including a curt reminder at the same time that everything had been served and the bill arrive in the same instant and we had to leave by 12:30.If a restaurant has strict seating times thats acceptable if the patron is warned in advance but then could the restaurant please serve the food in a timely manner?? Despite reasonable and interesting food, there is no need to tolerate such treatment - to be made to feel you are just ‘in the way’ - especially when there are so many other good restaurants next door in this neighborhood. Undiscovered gem. I felt like a quick (and somewhat healthy) breakfast do I didn’t want to hit the fast food chains. I walked past Boire & Manger and just dropped in. Great value for money with high quality ingredients. At the end of a very tasty lunch I ordered a hot Vietnamese coffee. The drip vessel had a dirty lid and dirty body which I pointed out to the waitress. Disappointing pizza. Margarita lacked sufficient tomato paste. Pepperoni had ham and pineapple on it. I admit I didn’t read the description of the pepperoni when I ordered I but was really startled to see pineapple!?Not authentic nor trying to be authentic.
