We have not been in this shopping mall for some time and we took our chance in a cold Sunday evening. Around dinner time, my wife and daughter decided to have some western food that was not from one of the chained stores. After surveilling the floors, we ended up having two choices, Oliver Sandwiches and this Mamma Gina Italian restaurant.Mamma Gina had okay decorations. They looked old. The ink on the menu at the front entrance dried up, we could barely figure out some of the items. I thought it was ok, cause I had been to restaurants that did this intentionally. It went well with the dark environment inside the restaurant. We thought that it was ok to give it a try. We soon found out that we made the worst decision for the day. There was this one guy, assuming the owner of the place, sent us to the seat. He made a casual recommendation from the menu while he was in a little bit of a rush. I thought that it was ok. This guy was busy with the only other table behind us who sounded like his friends. We went through the menu, we ordered the set meals. I thought everything was ok. The vegatable soup was served in no time. Everything was great at this point.A third table of customer arrived. I did not pay them attention but soon they left without ordering anything. After they were gone, this "owner" of the restaurant were talking behind them in a really bad way, loudly, kind of like "if they don't have the money, dont eat here." He went on for a while. My wife and I were really surprised with the harsh comments. May be they had a little query? I do not know. If they did, it was not loud enough in the quiet restaurant and I fully missed it.We asked for a spare bowl for our daughter. The bowl arrived quickly. I found that the outside of the bowl was messy with food I have no idea from where. I asked them over to replace the bowl. They did, nicely and quickly. Unintentional-incident, I could understand that. One of the two main courses arrived. It was the Australian Rib Eye Steak. It was a large serve, 12 oz? I figured. My wife took a taste and she wanted me to try some. "Bitter, or is it me?" I tried the steak and it was indeed bitter, cause it was very overcooked. My wife took enough time to cut out all the burnt parts but she was not feeling well already. The steak was hard to cut through and eating them took a lot of effort. My main course was a huge fish fillet and it was slightly over burnt and taste like it was defrozed not too long ago. Acceptable $94 set dinner, barely, I thought.I ordered the drink that came with the set dinner, iced lemon tea. It arrived quickly. When I took the straw out, there was a little insect stuck on it. I gave up. It was too much to handle in one night for a supposed to be enjoyable dinner. I called the "owner" and calmly explain this problem. He replied in a dozen of "okay" every three seconds cutting me short. I kind of felt like nothing went through. I called the bill. When I left the door, I heard him repeating some of my comments, loudly, to the waiters. I could not stop thinking about if he was going to give me the harsh comments like he did to the other table of customers. On my way home, my wife told me that she felt sick in her stomach.I don't know. It could be all coincident. May be they put the spare bowls next to the soup. May be they are serving the food which were meant to be overburnt to give people a taste of BBQ. May be the insect was indeed an incident. May be the previous customers made some rude comments when we were not looking. Now, adding everything up and it was one horrible experience. I am sure not going there again.…查看更多
