I was strolling around the area and came across this lovely hidden hub for Sichuan noodle and thought I would give it a try and boy was I surprised I did. The place did not look much when I first got in but it was the food that made me happy! I ordered a few items on the menu. First came the Chicken Noodle 棒棒雞涼伴麵 & Sichuanese Noodle 外婆酸辣粉.The chicken in the 棒棒雞涼伴麵 was soft and tender with good sesame flavor and the noodle in 外婆酸辣粉 had a great chewiness to it, fun to slurp with. I ordered a few items on the menu. First came the Chicken Noodle 棒棒雞涼伴麵 & Sichuanese Noodle 外婆酸辣粉.
The chicken in the 棒棒雞涼伴麵 was soft and tender with good sesame flavor and the noodle in 外婆酸辣粉 had a great chewiness to it, fun to slurp with. The Sichuanese Mala sauce in both noodles was strong and flavorful. I cannot really handle spicy food that well but I had no problem finishing both noodles.
Next came the Deep-Fried Purple Yam 紫心脆薯餅
The batter was quite thin and it was deep-fried well. It had a light crunchiness to it and the strong flavor of the purple yam was soft and sweet.
Next came the Spicy Wonton 紅油抄手 & Spicy Organic Tofu 辣醬涼伴有機豆腐
The wonton skin in the 紅油抄手 was thin and smooth with soft tender juicy pork inside. The organic tofu in the 辣醬涼伴有機豆腐 was also soft and smooth. Both dishes had a similar Sichuanese Mala sauce in it as well that helped give it a kick in flavor.
To finish off the meal, I ordered a cup of soy milk to cleanse my palate after having so much spices. Overall it was a great place to go. I would recommend this place if you are into Sichuan food. The price is reasonable with good portion of food being served.
