I always pass by her when shopping at Yata and finally decided to try as had craving for sea urchin. Situated next to the seafood sushi section of Yata, getting a seat at the counter requires ordering and paying first. Based on the reviews I ordered a Seafood special bowl 海鮮極丼. I comes with a big bowl of miso soup made up of turnip carrot and salmon and which is quite bland but didn't feel like any MSG and also should be lower in salt. Then came the bowl which was quite good given its price of $158. The sea urchin was surprisingly good, creamy, sweet. Although the salmon and minced was fairly bland. The scallop was quite small and was fresh. Prawn was a bit fishy which is fairly normal with these raw bowls. The bad thing was that the soy sauce and wasabi was the packet variety from takeaway and didn't complement the bowl, was abit bitter and overly salty. Otherwise he sea urchin is really a standout and overall pretty good value.
