Just came back from a tiring trip - yes Macau, so we thought it would be a good idea to have dinner in 信德, and Maxim Palace seems to be the right place?Arrived at around 9 on a Sunday and the restaurant is a bit empty, environment was nice and comfy though, seating was great.The 知客 greeted us cheerfully (yes even at 9pm) and brought us to our seats. Arrived at around 9 on a Sunday and the restaurant is a bit empty, environment was nice and comfy though, seating was great.

We ordered
1. 上湯瑤柱雜菜煲
2. 檻角 something 香炒骨
3. 琵琶豆腐
4. 靚仔一碗
The food delivered fairly quickly, and the first one came was said to be...
1. 上湯瑤柱雜菜煲
A nice lady served us, and we tasted the food happily, the vegetable is so sweet and fresh,apparently the vegetable is soaked in soup, the soup is rich and creamy, as shown in the pic, its white, very nice indeed, and I taste some fish, hmm... interesting, why fish in 上湯瑤柱雜菜煲?
hang on a sec.. oh it was wrongly delivered..
upon discovering, the lady quickly chucked the fish back into the pot, however, the manager came and scolded at her in a whispering manner (quietly), ofcourse, we heard it and felt very bad for the lady. It clearly wasn't her fault for mis-delivering the food. We saw many similar table numbers being 134 , 134A , 134B and without clear signs, its somehow confusing! The manager did apologise for delivering the wrong food, but what a shame, he scolded her in front of the customers.
So lets start it afresh, the first dish delivered should be:
1. 琵琶豆腐
The dish was beautifully cooked, deep fried then cooked in some sort of chinese sauce. Only thing is that the Choi Sum was completely soaked in chinese sauce (I dont know what it is, probably some corn starch sauce) and the sauce is a bit too thick, more water next time i think. 2. 檻角 something 香炒骨
The sauce was great, it tasted a bit like sweet n sour pork but not as sour. Spare ribs are my favourite 3. 盆仔 something 菜
Hmm, I dont think we have ordered this really. So it was wrongly delivered, again.
3. 白飯
Very well.
4. 上湯瑤柱雜菜煲
Finally, it was delivered piping hot, loads of vegetables, we loved it, and all vegetables were cooked nicely, not overcooked/soggy. The soup base was equally good, not too salty but just right.
No free desserts/fruits/sweet soup.Overall, it was a fair meal, Maxim kept its standard and we would definitely come back for our next try or visit other Maxim restaurants!
