It suddenly was raining really heavy so we decided to just eat here for dinner while we waited for the rain to stop. It was a roast meat restaurant. What could go wrong. Menu is in Chinese only. They apparently not only sold roast meat but they also served Cantonese stir fry dishes at nigth with optional dinner sets that include soup, rice and vegetables. We decided to share a dinner set and an extra dish as I wanted to share the bowl of rice.
The soup arrived first. This was ok. Savory and the typical pork, daikon and carrot soup.
The vegetables was choi sum with oyster sauce. Apparently they have several choices for vegetables and sauce addition. I felt it was a bit odd to have shrimp paste so I chose the usual oyster sauce. This was ok. Vegetables seemed fresh enough.
The dinner set we chose was salt baked chicken ($78). This was a lot smaller than we anticipated. It really was a one person set. The chicken wasn't too good. A bit over cooked and the sauce was just too starchy and thick for my preference.
The other dish we chose was the pork chop with ketchup and onions, This was really terrible, too. The pork chop was so hard and over cooked. I could barely bite into it. The sauce tasted ok but then you really can't say much when you use ketchup as the base ingredient. The onions were still raw.
The food was not good at all. Portion was a lot smaller than expected especialy in this area. Wouldn't be back.
