Ventured all the way here from Mong Kok after seeing an Instagram post about their toast.. the power of social media marketing!Arrived just after 3pm on a Saturday.. despite coronavirus outbreak, there was still a short queue. As expected we had to share a table but the tables are big and the whole restaurant is very spacious so we didn’t feel crammed at all.
I ordered their 四寶 noodles so I could try a bit of everything 😊 Girlfriend got the fish cake and sliced beef brisket noodles. We found the normal beef brisket to be more flavourful and tastier than the sliced brisket 🤔 the soup for both our noodles was very flavourful, you can tell by the dark colour!
Drinks are charged separately so it was quite expensive (around $20~ per drink). I had read good reviews about the hot milk tea but I found that it was just okay. Girlfriend’s iced lemon tea was huge though.
To finish off, of course we had to order the famous toast that attracted us to come in the first place! It did not disappoint 🤤 the cold slab of butter went perfectly well with the warm toast drizzled with condensed milk. Could I have made it myself at home? Probably. But food always tastes better when it’s made by someone else 😉
Overall this was a happy little excursion to Shau Kei Wan and we left the restaurant with our tummies happily filled ☺️ probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again but would definitely drop by if I happened to be in the area.
