Came here to try their $7.0 雞蛋仔 here after 太爺雞 meal... The 雞蛋仔 I got was actually passable - UNFORTUNATELY, I got the Electric version rather than the Fire Grilled version that the fattish kid infront of me received! (The thought crossed my mind that I should rob it off his hands haha, me being a big bully! Or coerce him into at least swapping a couple of pieces with mine electric one! )Anyway, the 雞蛋仔 was a bit greyer than I thought, I expected a Golden coloured version! The 'edge pieces' we

Anyway, the 雞蛋仔 was a bit greyer than I thought, I expected a Golden coloured version! The 'edge pieces' were crispy but overly-dried inside, however, the middle pieces had the desirable half 'doughy' filling inside which are still moist, with a crisp exterior shell! GOOD! There wasn't too much eggy custard aroma or taste, but its unfair to say there's none because there was some! I tried Northpoint's 利強記 a few months ago and in that particular 'review', mine was completely dried up and dry-chewy rather than crispy - also that had absolutely no eggs taste compared to here, despite costing $12.00 rather than $7.00 here! (However previously that shop was quite good sometimes.)
THESE KINDS OF PRODUCTS = VERY SENSITIVE TO BEING OVER-COOKED OR NOT DONE RIGHT! LUCKILY, I GOT AN ACCEPTABLE ONE THAT TIME. IT ALL DEPENDS ON LUCK! Incidentally I've tried 無名炭爐伯伯雞蛋仔 before a few years ago but never realised he is famous, so if I've lucky to bump into him again I'll need to try it again and compare them - but from memory, his version is much more cake-solid like in the middle, unlike here!
LOW-MID '4'... NOT '5' QUALITY YET!
