We finally visited this place yesterday: What a find! Really welcoming atmosphere, great food, and charming hosts. I had the meatloaf, which is twice-cooked: first baked, then -- and this is crucial -- pan-seared, turning what's usually a comforting, mushy mess into something crispy and interesting. My partner ordered the Santa Fe salad, which is indeed gigantic, as others have mentioned. The spice-rubbed chicken breast was cooked to juicy perfection, served with a huge portion of greens. The only thought we had was that we might ask for the dressing on the side next time; it's a fairly thick, creamy ranch so they have to use quite a lot of it to cover the whole salad.
The hostess is also a realtor so she uses the placemats to advertise her listings. Brilliant idea! And the couple also operate a small NGO in Yunnan that sources coffee and tea for them, aiding economic development for ethnic minorities.
We're looking forward to making this a regular spot for us.
