E-Pan has been opened in YOHO Mall for quite some time and it's finally our chance to come back to this amazing Japanese restaurant which is located on the ground floor of the Mall 1.

We were here for a quick dinner so we have just ordered a few of our favourite dishes for sharing.

We were asked if we would like to have a pot of tea as soon as we were seated, and they were having Genmaicha for that day. The tea costs $35 each no matter how many people you are sharing the tea with.

Genmaicha

Full of flavour which was very good for digestion. The staff was really helpful and kept refilling the water for us. We have refilled 2 times throughout the meal and the aromatic Japanese Genmaicha tea flavour still remained.

The whole tray of sea urchin was served on a wooden board along with some some crispy seaweed sheet for you to wrap it around. The bittersweet taste was subtly aromatic. The bite size sea urchin was quite cute and fun to eat. Not to mention it was only $180 for the whole tray of this premium seafood delicacy!

The avocado was thinly sliced and spreaded on top of the sushi roll which was stuffed with shredded crab meat and cucumber.

The sushi rice itself was quite firmly gribbed. The ratio of the avocado and crab was just right which gave a perfectly balaced savouriness from the crab and the creaminess from the avocado.

p.s. do you know that avocado actually tastes like salmon sashimi when being dipped into sushi soya sauce?

The rice prepared with Japanese pearl rice with some chopped small pieces of teriyaki eel on top. We then had to mix in the chopped spring onion, wasabi into the price, then pour in the specially prepared tea for this traditional Japanese main dish to enjoy.

The rice was warm and fluffy. The sliminess might not be for everyone but I was absolutely into it. The smooth and runny soup rice was easy to eat. The sweet and savoury teriyaki sauce from the eel matched well with the mellow light tea flavour. I would say it was definitely a good deal for this nice bowl of complex rice with only $65!

What's more? The restaurant offers a very wide range of food items like yakitori and other tenpankayi dishes but we were just to full to enjoy any of them. Don't worry! WE WILL BE BACK!
