We went in for lunch on a weekday, having already ordered when queueing outside. Into just over 20 minutes of dining, the staff suddenly told us using an extremely disrespectful and impolite tone “let me tell you, do you know there are a lot of people queueing outside”. I was like ok I would try to eat faster (even though we weren’t deliberately eating slowly at all, I had been eating using natural speed all along, the kind of speed that even works for Australian Dairy Milk) and I became very determined and thought to myself ok I would finish this in 5 minutes and leave. But after 1 minute the same woman came back and said with an even more disrespectful tone that sounded like complaining: “if you want to keep eating, move to another chair (pointing to another side of the room). I got so many customers queueing outside.” For a moment I couldn’t believe she did that. Not even Australian Dairy Milk staff would say something like that, given the context. I didn’t want to argue with her so decided to leave instantly, having not yet finished my bowl of rice. Overall my friend and I spent less than 30 minutes in the restaurant.

To balance out the arguments, I guess they have this attitude or mindset because of some kind of lunch discount (which we didn’t know until we checked the bill - the rice was $78 in the menu but in the bill it was $50) so they probably wanted to ensure traffic flow and fast turnaround time within the 12-2pm lunchtime window (if 30min is their target turnaround time, then they can do 4 rounds of customers per table, good deal). But the food wasn’t really outstanding. If cheap average food means bad service is expected - well then please kindly ignore this review. Or maybe they actually have a maximum dining time of 30 minutes, which we weren’t aware of? (If so maybe they can think about sticking this instruction on the walls.🤔)

No matter what, they have given me a memorable dining experience and a restaurant name that I would never ever need to consider again when searching on OpenRice. Thanks!😊
