Unfairly treated

Service could be more fair. When we stepped into the restaurant, the manager initially sat us inside. We spotted a corner table outside with more light, so we requested to sit there instead. The manager declined our request and told us that the table was for a bigger party (5-6). We spotted a table nearby, and we ended up sitting there. Service could be more fair. When we stepped into the restaurant, the manager initially sat us inside. We spotted a corner table outside with more light, so we requested to sit there instead. The manager declined our request and told us that the table was for a bigger party (5-6). We spotted a table nearby, and we ended up sitting there. About a few minutes later, a father with two young children came to take the corner table. And the two other tables outside started opening up. We spoke with a waitress nearby and asked to switch table. The waitress initially accommodated our request but later came back and said that the manager declined our request because the outside tables had sofa and it was Sunday and he wanted to save them to families with young children. From what we saw, only 1/3 of the restaurant was occupied and Elements was not particularly crowded so we doubted any young families would be visiting here soon. As we expected, the tables remained available until we finished our meal. Surprisingly, three non-Chinese adults rather than families with young children took one of the tables. We left the restaurant feeling unfairly treated.
Having said that, the ribeye and the fig salad were delicious. It would have been a better dining experience if our seating request were better accommodated.
